@@hassangammudi3212 You can use a blank password. Personally, I create a password and then create a 4 character pin via Windows Hello. Pins are terrific as it can be simple, but also very powerful. For instance, in the newest Chrome, if you use Chrome, you can encrypt your saved passwords and use the Windows Hello Pin to access your encrypted passwords. Most people don't realize zero passwords can leave you vulnerable should a hacker get remote access via a link or a compromised website. Using Windows Hello with a password and pin can help you lock down vital areas of your system so that even if someone gets access to your desktop, they still can't get to your most critical data.
I'm in Desktop support myself and always looking for something I overlooked or forgot. I just wanted to say I believe you did an incredible job on this. Thank you for putting it out there.
Legendary video! I have 1 more tip other than all the useful ones you mentioned.
Tip: Apps that were installed from the Microsoft Store run in the background unnecessarily. You can modify those apps by going into Settings > Apps > Choose The App > Modify > Turn off running in background. This has helped me a lot!!
Thank you so much for this too!
Thanks for the tip!
Yeah, just like the good old msconfig. Thanks and Happy New Year.
@@LeilaGharani you need to pin this comment
Thanks
This was surprisingly helpful. Usually these types of videos suggest things that are very obvious or things that would cause more problems than they solve. Your tips are clear, direct, and most of all, useful. Plus bonus points for not having a long boring intro but actually getting to the point.
Glad you found it helpful, Dave!
bruh she suggested turning off the ability to install applications. How does that not cause more problems than it solves. If you need that feature on, get a chromebook.
why is it surprising? she makes amazingly detailed videos!!
@@rohansampat1995 nope...you misheard/misread that completely. go back & check. sigh...
@@baba.mkhulu I did, and the fact that she even brought up doing that is against what pcs stand for.
Wonderful!
Concise, clear and slow enough for newbies to understand what to do.
Thank you a lot for the video!
This was such useful and WELL PRESENTED information! No excess verbiage - direct, simple, and to the point! I hate it when these self help presenters rattle on and on before getting to the point. You're an excellent teacher! If you're not a professor, you should be! Thank you!
Very well made video, concise and short, all the info you need, without fluff.
Much appreciated.
not well made lol
Seemingly simple fixes but incredibly useful. Most of these changes helped eliminated the small nuisances I have lived with on my Windows 10 and 11 machines for the last 5+ years. The fact that this was just ~6 minutes long made it easy to engage in this video and get a ton of helpful information in a short amount of time. Just subscribed to this channel. Thanks Leila!
Happy to have you aboard, Kevin!
@@LeilaGharani could you tell me how to get my hp laptop screen moved back to the left on windows 11,, as a 64 year old I'm illiterate on this stuff lol
By the way, Microsoft Family Safety does not work with a local account, so you should use other parental control apps for your kids (K9, Time Boss, Net Nanny...)
Great to see that you have clear mind and not cutting when talking to the camera.
Definitely one of the best Windows 11 Tutorials I've seen, clearly demonstrated and spoken at a reasonable speed, rather than gabbled at 100 mph like many others, even we Silver Surfers can understand. Many Thanks! 👏👏
Concise, clear and informative - Great video thank you!
I never followed so much advice from any source before. I had to pause dozens of times to make all of the GREAT suggestions. Thanx a lot
Excellent video. Thank you so much setting up my new windows 11 computer.
Thanks Leila. So many settings! Hard to know which ones to modify. Thanks for the advice. Thumbs up!!
GREAT video! Thank you!
Excellent video. This saved me a ton of time as I was trying to sort through all of these settings myself. You pointed out a number that I had missed. Thanks!
Great to hear!
Great Tips. I am very savvy with Windows. Came as far back as IBM Punch Cards & Olivetti Computers running MSDos at AT&T Canada in 1985, so I've had every Windows OS since the beginning. Now retired & back into the music biz working on my two Windows 11 Laptops doing digital music recordings here in my studio. Just wanted to say that I enjoyed your video and sending it all my friends. You've saved me much of what I wanted to mention to everyone. I'll say this Leila, "You're One Smart Computer Cookie". I'm now watching your other videos so that I can brush up on some apps I now need in my music biz. Thank you.
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing this
Thank you! Excellent segment.
Very helpful. I don't generally subscribe to stuff, but I just got a new computer with windows 11 and there's all sorts of of annoying stuff very different from what I'm used to. Very easy to follow and provided me with good general familiarity of the settings, so very different from older computers. Windows has a lot of "improvements" that are most definitely NOT improvements - and some that are, but just require the learning and changing. Big brother is becoming increasingly invasive however, under the illusion of "this will help you."
You can also uninstall many of the bloatware apps that Microsoft either installed automatically or added links to install, to free up space, declutter your menus and improve overall performance a little bit. Right-clicking the icon should give an option to uninstall rather than tracking each folder down. There are also little tweaks that allow you to fix the annoying spaced out icons and to fix the right-click menu debacle introduced in Win 11. There are many guides on YT for these.
Love this! Thank you. I went through them all with you. Thank you again.
Great tips, thank you for sharing!
Thank you! Your directions were easy to follow and I feel better about my new Windows !
Appreciate the friendly but extremely professional style. Also you get right to it and do not waste anyone's time. Liked and Subscribed
That's great to hear, Colin. Glad to have you aboard!
Thank you Leila!!
Awesome and Amazing! Thank you Leila!
Great suggestions , very informative, well put together. thank you for all you do!
I appreciate that, William!
Awesome. I just took the risk of daily driving Windows 11 so these tips helped. My laptop is still on 10 just in case but I may update that to 11 in a few months depending on how I like 11.
Very useful and very well explained..Thank you.
Awesome, Really appreciated!! Thanks. Love from Sri Lanka.
Awesome video, Leila! One of the most annoying things I'm grappling with is all of the save-to-OneDrive defaults. I want almost everything saved locally and I certainly don’t want OneDrive as my default save location every time that I do anything.
Totally agree. I bet there are many people who don't even know OneDrive is saving their stuff to the cloud.
As a senior tech... I have to thank you for this video. It's just such perfect information, provided with such simplicity and clarity.
Thanks.
Awesome! Thank you! That's sure helps A LOT!
Highly appreciated info!
I reccomend learning some shortcuts, for example Windows + i, opens settings. There are a lot of videos on these. Another reaaly good tip imo is to go to settings, accessibility , keyboard and enable ''use stamp key to take screenshots''. if u have any questions I'll answer asap
Clear, concise, useful, no wasted frames. (and, of course, nice to look at. :o) Thanks for putting this together, I made a host of changes as I watched.
Helpful video. Thank you.
So glad I came across your channel. This is great stuff!! Just got my new Windows 11 machine. Thank you Leila
Brilliant video. Really helpful. Makes sense of everything that Microsoft thinks you want or want to do but actually don't! Just need to get Firefox on the system and I'm done!
Based upon an earlier video, I have not made the switch to W-11 ... leaving it to later in the year (maybe). Nonetheless, I enjoyed listening to Leila as to how she thinks about her settings ... very helpful ... and made me realize I need to be more knowledgeable about my own settings. I realize W-10 is on its way out the door, but a similar video for W-10 would be helpful too.
But as always ... thank you ... thank you .... thank you ... always a wealth of information.
Many thanks for the suggestion! I'll add it to our list.
You made the best decision ever, you definitely saved a lot of time that would be wasted fixing things that MS should already have fixed before releasing the Win 11. For instance my Taskbar keeps freezing even after trying all the available options to fix it. It just keeps coming back( a simple reboot fixes it but it's an extra reboot I don't want to do).
Thank you. Concise, and a real person explaining the process
Thank you so much. Instructions are perfectly clear, easy to follow and understand. There were so many more catagories to inspect than I had anticipated.
Thank you for showing us those settings and how to turn them off! I had already googled some of them, because they were SO annoying, but now I got even more turned off. I hate it when an OS or app is trying to "help" me. Once again: Thanks!
Happy to help!
I always enjoy your tips and tricks. Looks like Win 10 is end of the road for me as I will be switching to Linux.
Good choice, Welcome!
Thank you very much for sharing. Very helpful.
I Watched many videos of yours and I (a senior citizen) learned a lot and applied suggestions. you are a genius baby. God has blessed you. Wish you all the best. Thank you
Another useful video, well-presented and professional, without any of the condescending 'this is a cool thing to do' crap.
Yes, very helpful video! Thanks! But, if your child has local account in Windows 11 - internal parental control does not work... Why? Should I use others parental controls Time Boss, Net Nanny or others?
Great suggestions. Thank you. On a separate note, I’ve not been able to use power query in Excel (Microsoft 365) since upgrading to Windows 11. Microsoft customer service has advised to wait for the next available windows update. Have you had this difficulty? Suggestions? Thank you for what you do! You have proven to be a great resource for me.
Sorry about that! No, I use it all the time on Win 11. Never had an issue since I upgraded.
There is the number problem with Microsoft Costumer Service rather than supporting through actual addressing your issue, they often say "sorry you are experiencing this problem, we are aware of this problem and will be addressing it in future updates." Or they take the lazy way out and suggest recovery options to reinstall windows...
Thank you Ms. Gharani for sharing your expertise.
@@brucebradley5877 That has certainly been my experience. Great products... horrible customer service!
Thanks for putting this out there lots of help
im regreting the instalation of win11 every day win10 was perfect idont like win11 its not user friendly its just annoying
Skill issue
I've seen a lot of people complain that Windows 11 feels too intuitive but Windows 11 being less user friendly than windows 10 is definitely something new I've seen, just learn how to use a computer MF..... If you think windows 11 is hard then you're going to have a tough time learning anything.
For Personalization, that Personalization is no longer under Settings but I believe what works is right-clicking that area by the Power icon and it'll take you to those settings. Seems quite a bit has changed. (Was gifted a Win11 laptop today!)
So helpful. Thanks so much.
VERY helpful - Thanks !
Thanks, good suggestions. However, MS should have made all these options opt-in instead of opt-out. Well I will leave all that to the system admins at work and just use Linux at home. ;)
Thank you for this very helpful video! Please tell me how to "move" the toolbar so it is vertical on the left side of my horizontal screen? It is annoying and not logical to waste my important horizontal desktop space with the toolbar. It is important that I can access the toolbar, without it taking up prime desktop space.
@@DutchXfanthis is progress in Microsoft eyes that users have LESS choice of where to put the taskbar...such backward thinking
Fantastic video, thank you!!!

I couldn't really focus, I got lost in your voice, honestly I would love to hear you reading a book, there is something in your voice that gives me goosebumps!
She definitely has an ASMR voice or something like that 😅
She does have an amazing voice. She needs an ASMR channel.

Very useful video BUT it would be very helpful if you NEVER say "click on THIS" when referenung an action. I had to rewind several times to figure out the name of the item you clicked on.
Useful and short. Thank you!
Excellent video, thank you Leila.
The first thing you should change is to change back to 10.
F🤬🤬k no.
Why ?
@@hbc51110 is near its end with Windows 11 out, and Windows 12 coming pretty soon, so just upgrade. It's worth the spyware.
I hated 10!
Not 10, change back to Windows 7. Windows 10 is nothing but bloatware.
you shouldn't download win 11 at all yet.
Windows 11 is a smoking pile of crap.

Excellent review!
Thank you very useful .. thanks for sharing
The ideal solution would be to not install Windows at all or stay on Windows 10 or even better switch back to Windows. 7. Windows 11 is an Operating system that aims to steal your privacy and sell your user data. It is a lot more terrible than Windows 10 ever was. Personally, I would recommend stopping using Windows at all and starting using Linux. I myself have stopped using Windows all together and Switch to Linux. I enjoy using Linux much more now that I don't feel like someone is watching everything I do. and don't worry about the Operating system, want to know everything there is to know about me. Windows is no longer just an operating system, it is a full on Scam to exploit people who have become so accustomed to their ways that they can't see it. I have been using Windows all my life since MS-DOS and i'm Done. I don't take kindly to companies trying to exploit me. And Windows 10 was already the edge of what I liked and Windows 11 is just over the edge and we don't care, we take everything and control everything you can and can't do on Your Operating system. I beg you, if you're gonna stay on Windows, stay, on Windows 10 or one of the older versions. Or do like me say Fuck Microsoft and switch to Linux. don’t let them control your life when you have the Freedom to choose.
It is helpful for me, thanks so much.
thanx, great vid. extremely useful
