5 Awesome Windows 11 Features you should use

- Find out about 5 features that'll make Windows 11 even better. Speak to your PC and have your computer write what you see, including all punctuation. Set up multiple desktops to separate your work and customize those desktops with names, backgrounds, and ordering. Snap your windows more easily using a new snapping helper. Also, find out about PowerToys, which allows even more power and control over snapping windows. Quickly restore groups of tabs using tab groups so you don't have to re-arrange your snapped windows after minimizing. Widgets give you relevant information, like weather, tasks, calendar, with just one click. Hi Kevin - love your videos. For this one, I'm a very basic user/writer so I don't use a whole lot, but I love the dictation feature, with the added punctuation. That was my favorite!

Loved your suggestion about new desktops projected to different screens. I think MS should seriously consider it, there must be a way to get this idea to MS developers

I would love to see the start button in the centre of taskbar among all apps, would look more elegant that way

Personally I prefer it in the lower left corner due to the shape of the monitor but I understand where you're coming from.
Dude after 1 week of this start bar in the centre im starting to consider getting the old corner start bar back. Why does my whole RUclips video or Facebook feed need to be completely blocked just because I wanted to bring up a quick app from start menu such as calculator or paint. Bottom left corner was waaaaay less intrusive of my screen

Great video man. That first one alone helped me a lot. I'm using the voice with the auto punctuation in it right now. You can select something in settings that has it where it works on anything. Awesome.

Secret start menu is also available on Windows 10 and shortcut key is WIN + X... btw, loved the video ❤

its in windows 10 too.
The 2nd function can be done in windows 10. To do that, we have to just press windows key + Tab key
But you can't customize those desktops

It's great that Windows finally has a multiple desktops feature! I really missed that when I was forced to use Windows 8 at work for a while.
Windows 10 has had this since like 2017 lol

I'm so glad I found this video because I write a lot of essays and I really needed this text to speech alright, I'm sorry speech to text function. I'm actually using it right now to write this post. I noticed something, you have only four snap layout options, while some users have six of them
I believe it depends on the screen size and resolution. The larger the screen, the more options that are exposed.
That snapping feature is key for me, would have never known about it if it wasn't for the video, makes grading (I'm a teacher) a lot easier to input.

I would really like a feature for apps to go fullscreen and on their own dedicated desktop, as they can be in MacOS, which you can then swipe across your trackpad to change. Really helps maximize screen real estate on 13"-14" devices!

I would love to see the widgets integrated into the desktop and not into another menu ... would be nice to have my calender always visible ...

Yesterday I got a Lenovo Gaming laptop with Win 11. I was trying to figure out how the heck to see the task manager because the normal right click on the desktop didn't bring it up. I had to go into 🔍 to type it in.
Now I know that a right click on the start button will give it to me. Thanks.

You know, I would like to see the snap-groups be a start up option. i.e. every time I start my PC have a pre-defined startup group of applications in their snap-group all launch.

Without the option to customize the taskbar, what is the actual point of having multiple desktops? Hopefully there is a workaround by now.

I like the multiple desktops desk option, now you no need to change your PC wallpapers the day before your presentation

Hi Kevin, thank you for these wonderful tips. One of the most important statements from Win 11 is the promise of the combination of full desktop OS power + the mobility/simplicity of mobile OS. This is also the area Apple purposely avoided. We have to ask what's the purpose to equip M1 chip in an iPad Pro? Surface Pro X can run Win 11 smoothly. With the touchscreen feature, it's a true pleasure to experience this combination (Surface Pro X + Win11). Would you mind showing us more from this area? Thanks again.

Hi Kevin, I love the feather you show people how to set speak and punctuation on Window 11. It really good and easy if someone want to write. After I watch you on RUclips. I set it up and it works perfect but the next day I try access it again it said: It's not connected to network, but the network work on all other programs. Please let me know what I did wrong. Thanks

I miss vista's widgets which just hung out on your desktop background. Kool looking clocks, calenders, music players, etc.. :( bring back those Windows!
I still love the old Windows Gadgets desktop since Windows 7 legacy and I keep installing them everytime on Windows 10 & now Windows 11.

After so many years using windows I found out the snipping tools, if I had to copy part of the screen, I used to do screen print open on paint, then crop and save. With the snipping tool, I can crop and save part of anything without graphic software.

Having a desktop for work, play, etc..... would be the ultimate feature...... Kinda makes you wonder why they didn't put that feature in in the first place huh? great video.....
Will there be a option to have different icons on different desktops? I mean, it seems to have almost no usage when you can't have different things on desktop, i would like to have for example some folders on second desktop, so i can use it when i need and it doesn't fill the first desktop at the same time. Hope we will get that option in future
Exactly. I thought that would be an obvious use for having different desktops. I was disappointed when I found out you couldn't do this and add different shortcuts, folders etc to different desktops... let alone not even being able to separate them on a second monitor.

Hey Kevin ty for all you do especially for someone like me who likes the way you explain thing's & needs that added extra you give. I have sidecar file's *.xmp Is there a way of hiding these they are necessary but make folders look messy. I can't find any tutorials that help me navigate through this process. Cheers Graham 🍻

It can but you have to put the cursor on the screen u want to shortcut on

Allowing different desktops to be shown on separate monitors would be great for apps that don't allow multiple instances. Show on all desktops and then move one desktop to display on another monitor is exactly what I need. Sigh.
