    Was the tint just vehicle paint w/ the proper color code? I’m looking to do a Toyota pickup in federal color code 34076

    • @TMogo116
      @TMogo116  Год назад

      So it was the tint without binders, you do not need the full paint mix as the raptor will bond with the tint alone, I went to an automotive paint place called "finishmasters" and asked them for the jeeps paint code tint only with no binders.

    1: I think you should line a grill in black. Take away that gloss bit still have the contrast.
    2: How does it clean up? Assuming you off-road it atleast a little, how does the mud and such come off? Is it hard to get it totally clean or does a low power pressure wash do the trick? Very interested as I'm thinking of doing it to my TJ.

    • @TMogo116
      @TMogo116  6 лет назад

      I debated the black grill but ended up keeping the tank colored grill. To clean is easy just power wash or spray with degreaser and power wash worst case use a soft bristle boat brush.

    Great Vid. I am about to raptorline my Truck. I have been sitting on the idea for a good while and the time has come to finally do it.
    Few questions. I don't think you mentioned how many bottles it took you for this application? How much tint was required? Did you do one or two coats? How has it held up over the year? If you had to do it again is there anything you would have done different?
    Sorry for all the questions. Thanks again!!

      @@TMogo116 Hi - Great video. Thank you for making it. Couple questions - have you had any adhesion issues using 4 coats? I'd also like more coats for durability, but the manufacture says no more than 2 coats due to chemical build up between coats. Whats your thought on that? Also, I'm sure I missed it somewhere, but what PSI did you use? I really like that texture. Thank you!

    • @TMogo116
      @TMogo116  4 года назад +1

      when offroading usually you scratch up the paint on the jeep, down here in florida it is common for clear coats to bubble and peels the sun just cooks everything here, the raptor is much tougher and sprays on thick to withstand the scratches.

      @@TMogo116 So, I just posted on the JKForum asking for any tips/suggestions. Are you regretting having done the Raptor? Has it held up well?

    • @TMogo116
      @TMogo116  4 года назад

      @@rmjryost It is still holding up amazing! I did trade the jeep in, but I have been in contact and friends with the new owner on facebook. He says its still the same no chips or anything. it is all in the prep. Also the dealer paid me top dollar as a trade. I had bought the jeep brand new for 51k I drove it for 3 years 35k miles and traded it in for 39,500 with the raptor

    This really looks good..at first I could see a stripping effect when you painted the passenger door but maybe that was before the second coat..It looks flawless in the sunlight...I have a Jeep project that is going to look like an extended cab M715 and also a Suburban modified to look like an Avalanche, and was thinking of coating them both with a dark gray Monstaliner...I had a Bronco that I used the Monstaliner on, and it looked good for a roll on, but a couple of the rollers begin to disintegrate and I had to pick out the pieces..maybe this Raptor liner is better...but if its urethane, that stuff is not good to inhale or get on your skin..even the fumes are bad for them eyes..I don't know, but that is what I heard..you haven't mutated into a zombie yet have you?

    • @TMogo116
      @TMogo116  6 лет назад +4

      haha not a zombie so the trick is the very last coat you do a fluff coat so you stand back maybe 5 feet and light dust everything, the raptor has kind of a self leveling effect and you just fluff the whole thing and it will look flawless.

    If you do a follow up video about how the Raptor Liner has held up to the sun and weather elements please also do a close up shot of how the door jams look. In your video youre spraying it with the doors still on the Jeep so I would really like to see how the door jams look. What about washing mud off or just using a rag to wipe the Jeep down? Thanx!
