I'd put a big shout out to the staff. You could tell they were very genuine and caring people producing the best food ever. So nice to see "home cooked" food rather than chain restaurant food. Cheers Phil
Why are we swamped in this island of ours with so many foreign eateries when good old British food can be SO good? Good on ya for spreading the word, Lee !
Too right. Personally I’ve grown tired of Chinese and Indian takeaways etc. don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older, but I used too love a hot spicy madras or even a Vindaloo. Now I can’t even have one mouthful. Give me a nice pie and creamy mash any day👍🏻
Have to say your editing is brilliant. Ye deffo put your heart and soul into these videos. That 100,000 subscribers will be here very soon and will be well deserved.
Yes great camera work and editing, he's a natural. Really hope you overtake rate my takeaway for subs, he's got his own cameraman and editor and it's still rubbish content I cannot understand why he's doing so well. Keep up the great work Lee.
well done Lee, great Video ,and brought lovely memories about late my mam and dad and wife going to whitby, brought a lot of emotions flooding back and tears in my eyes, when i come back to the UK i will be going to the humble pie thanks again
Simply outstanding, the traditional pie and mash with mushy peas and gravy looked so delicious!!!! 11/10 from me, the whole dish looked really scrumptious!!!! 👍👌
That food looked utterly amazing and OMG Fentimans Ginger Beer. My mum used to have it delivered when I was a nipper and it came in a big stone glazed flagon.
Now that looked lovely. Plus Whitby looks like a lovely wee village and I’m sure they’ll be getting more visits after watching your vlogs. Can’t wait for the next one
England and it's food at it's best Lee - Fantastic video, food & scenery perfectly showcased by the MacMaster - makes me want to go there asap - top marks all round
That was brill lee fantastic editing love the thought you put in to this editing and it made us all go back to the good old days for awhile. and the pie looked fantastic
Loved this video. I'm a tad younger than you so it reminded me of my Grandparents rather than my parents. I was born in Essex but my Grandad was a Yorkshireman (Doncaster) so I love going 'Up North'!! for the food, and a few memories. I hope your Ma was looking down and smiling!
I took my wife and mum in there about 7 years ago, they loved it so did I, they both passed away during covid. I will go back in one day for the memories and good food.
Great review Lee it's on my list of places to visit and me being a londoner I love pie and mash and the food looked stunning, and I loved the ambience of the place.
Very, very British. A whopping 10 for me, too; even though you never said it, Lee, I knew you gave it a 10 as well, and What ambiance and Character of this place. Has this little seaside town finally redeemed itself, yes!
im not sure if im correct but the fish n chips you had with the can of pop was about the same price, but that looked real comfort food, nice fish n chips you can get in most towns but a proper pie n mash is a rare find. honestly brilliant entertainment, thank you.
Bless you Lee. What a great vlog. Whitby was one of my dads favourite places...my parents lived in Scarborough. Very emotional for me too...and for you thinking of your mum bless her. Pie looked amazing...and what a fantastic and nostalgic place....just great. Thanks Lee. Love and best wishes....see you on the next one.
I have seen you eat many things ! To me that looked delicious, I was very envious. Sadly I really struggle to get out of the house now. But I enjoyed watching how much you enjoyed it.
Me and my partner visit whitby about 4 or 5 times a year and typically go to humble pie at least half of those visits. Never had a poor meal. Always great service and great food. LOVE WHITBY
10/10 Lee. This knocks spots off a certain pie and mash shop in Greenwich I had last August. My Granny used to take me to the UCP in Ashton under Lyne to enjoy traditional northern foods. Yes Ashton Lee.
That looked out of this world. The music, the decor, everything was fantastic. We'll be heading straight there this weekend. Sublime. Keep up the absolutely amazing work. Just seeing and hearing you reassures me that the world is a great place. I don't think you realise just how important your vlogs are for viewers. Thanks for everything!
The moment you cut into that pie that was it for me… I’m staying in Whitby during Christmas, have a little cottage rented just up from there. I will 100% be visiting!
Now that's what I call a proper pie and mash as my nan would say she would have love it there so would my have my grandad ❤ looks amazing 🥧😋 love the place all that old stuff and that dish it came in love it 👌will definitely be visiting there when in whitby 👍got to give this a 10/10 for food and place ❤ love those kind of places Lee thanks for sharing this with us 👏😘x
Well done Lee. About 3 years back now I went in there and came out full and satisfied. It was recommended to me and here is a funny thing. The fella who said go there absolutely was charmed by the decor too but in the toilets. I forgot to go, well I didn't need to. Whitby is my favourite place.
We always go there when in Whitby rather than the fish and chips. We also talk about how my in laws would have loved the shop and food too. Loved it, thank you for reviewing
I’ll have to checkout Humble Pie when I head over there next year….But my eyes on the menu is Steak & Kidney Pie😎👍. Video today down your memory lane of food & music 🎶 easily gets a 10/10!!😎👍🇨🇦
That really did look delicious. I know what you mean about fond memories of things you did with your Mother. We need to never forget what the generation that went through WW2 suffered, we owe them so much. I'm 80 now so came along during that war. Watched "Dunkirk" last night. I as an American didn't realize what you Brits went through during that war. We all should never forget. Back to the food--I would much prefer pie and mash with gravy. I would pick the choice you made too with ginger beer or root beer if you could get it.
Aww, your Mum sounded like a lovely Lady, I had fears in my eyes when you were talking about her. The place looked amazing, full of character. I know that my Mum would love it, she loves things set in that period.
hi mac that hs realy suprized me it looked fantastic i was licking my lips when they served it to you i have been to whitby but only tried the fish and chips but watching you enjoy that i must go back thank you so much for opening my eyes to that and with the setting and music and gourgous food wow 👍
Now that's a portion size worth paying. I'm hoping to head to Whitby on Saturday, gotta give this place a visit. Blakey would be proud of that impression 🤣
One of the best vlogs you've done Lee in my opinion. Also made me think about my old 'Ma' who we lost a year ago. She would have loved this place. Coincidentally I was in Whitby a fortnight ago and must have walked past this establishment on the way to the pub(I won't mention)that served barely edible overcooked chips! I'll know better next time! Thank you for this reccomendation!😁👌
Me and the missus are dreading going back to Whitby, which incidentally is the wife's favourite coastal town . Why you may ask , well my surname is MacMaster ........
I have been in there around 12 times, since a small kid in 80's! And is one of my fav places for food/drink. Those 2 women first at 9:10 and the other at 10:27 was comedy gold 😂 Flo's Pie and Mash-Dartford I really recommend! Go there and will treat you to lunch 🙂
A wonderful place one of Whitby’s best places to eat The atmosphere & setting is perfect I’m back in Whitby next month & definitely calling in again It has to be a 20/10 😃👍🏻👍🏻
They took the fireplace apart once and found artifacts going back hundreds of years they have them on display when you go in I am pleased they take cards now for payment we always eat here when we visit
Your mom would be proud of you coming to Whitby to try the Humble Pie Lee she would be saying 'that's my son eating a humble pie and listening to my favourite music' very moving video Lee keep up the good work the meal as a whole looked tasty ashame that I didn't go there whilst in Whitby
Yummy or what. That looked so tasty and wholesome and has now made me hungry for my dinner. Would give the food alone a 10 but have to subtract a point for the bowl with the scratched rim because it reminded me of a dog dish
Us aussies love a real good pie.. I definitely love to try this traditional recipe they make ...😊🇦🇺💖 Charming to see this restaurant pie shop im blown away .10/10 To much to choose from😃mmmmm comfort food.
Without any doubt this is one if not the best food reviews " In The World ". I love Pie and Mash , I looked at the prices and I thought thats a lot of dosh however after seeing the dish I have to say it looked value for money. It remined me of a place I visit in Cornwall [ Mousehole ] theres a small run cafe hidden away thats got the same setup however its pasties [ obviously ] . But I can understand you when you say it takes you back to the days when your mother cooked Home made Pie and Mash the place in Mousehole had the same effect on me. Just a thought Lee have you tried the shop in Bakewell its also sells Pie and Mash plus the famous Bakewell tart its called " The Bakewell Tart Shop " - be good if you took a trip down there and reviewed it
Unbelievable Jeff lol Lovely pie and proper mash I would of liked the pie and danndyline and burdock drink . Proper mushy peas solid 9 out of ten nice price Lee cheers
I'd put a big shout out to the staff.
You could tell they were very genuine and caring people producing the best food ever.

That’s a delicious looking dinner!! Love the place too, a great step back in time. Hope any tears were happy ones.
Lee I think I’d give that 10/10 just for the amount of filling 😋 looked incredible and it’s gotta be a 10 👍🏻
Wow that looked absolutely amazing, the place, the nostalgia, the food, it’s what the north does best, and a good cuppa tea!
well done Lee, great Video ,and brought lovely memories about late my mam and dad and wife going to whitby, brought a lot of emotions flooding back and tears in my eyes, when i come back to the UK i will be going to the humble pie thanks again

What an awesome little place, with proper home made food. That’s as good as it gets or ‘off the charts’!!
Now that looked lovely. Plus Whitby looks like a lovely wee village and I’m sure they’ll be getting more visits after watching your vlogs. Can’t wait for the next one

Great vid my mum watched it brought her back to old times too
Lee's ideal dinner would be a black pudding platter in the palace cafe, shared with Zoe ball whilst listening to the soothing sounds of the bagpipe.
And an oyster or an extremely hot curry.
@@lparky4409 👍🏼 😄
hi mac that hs realy suprized me it looked fantastic i was licking my lips when they served it to you i have been to whitby but only tried the fish and chips but watching you enjoy that i must go back thank you so much for opening my eyes to that and with the setting and music and gourgous food wow 👍
