The one issue and this has been an issue with the 409 is the door swing in the aft head.......You would think the designers in 5-8 years would have solved that swing into the toilet......With that said, it is a beautiful boat......Finally a company went with a standard rectangular bed......BRAVO!!!!
@@paulfenn940 outwards : security feature. If someone feint in a small area, it may be impossible to open the door from the outside, as the body may block the door. but for sailing, having the door inside means that if the door lock fail, the person inside can relock it, without leaving the toilet pantless ;)
Forward facing chart table is a plus. Don’t understand why windlass controls are not at the binnacle as well. Main sheet on the track above the wheels. Swim platform on remote. Up at mooring. Down to board from dinghy. Or control accessible from dinghy.
Windlass control is at the hem station and at the windlass itself. Good point about the wireless remote for the swim platform. We will look into this. Thanks for the comments!
The boat looks very nice however the 3 year world wide coverage is misleading. I bought 410 and within 6 months had problem with the engine. I wrote emails after emails to Jeanneau and did not receive any response. The dealer just stated that my expectations were too high it usually takes many days to fix a problem like this. That is world wide coverage.
these "walk around decks", or how you called them, looks cool and tempting in good weather. but: * how do they handle rough seas? they might funnel lots of water from the bow in to the cockpit * and I am not shure how best to fully enclose the cockpit
Thanks for your question! The idea behind the walk around decks is to provide unprecedented access in and out of the cockpit, as well as providing great visibility for the person on the helm. The feedback we have gotten from the hundreds of boats sailing around the world tells us this feature delivers on these promises, and we have not had any complaints of excessive water being funneled into the cockpit. In addition to the walk around decks, the new generation of Sun Odysseys have pronounced hull volume aft, as well as a chine which is sharp and low. These features combine to significantly reduce heel, which limits the amount of water that ends up on the boat and running down the decks. (These features also make these boats a lot of fun to sail!) There is a drain system at the lowest point in the walk around deck to handle that normal amount of water. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to learn more!
I like the chine idea but wonder about the righting moment. So flat, flat, flat quick heal knock down. I don’t know how it is as long as it is predictable.
We are manufacturing these boats in the spring of 2019, and we expect the first launch in April! We will show a 410 in the Miami boat show, if you are interested in seeing it up close!
So i own this boat and im having Trouble adjusting the Boose Sound system. Does anyone know how to adjust the Sound system? Im wondering if i Can Turn of the speakers in the cockpit, but have Them on in the saloon. If you have an possible solution please respond. Thank you.
We were sailing with the shoal keel. Boat sails great with both, shoal and deep! The boat will be on display at this year's Miami show, February 14-18 if you're interested in it. We will also be sailing the boat after the show doing some sea trials.
25 knots of breeze is a lot of air although we had almost that much in the gusts a couple of weeks ago on Biscayne Bay in Florida. We found by reefing down the mainsail (we had a classic up & down main) and reducing the genoa a bit (genoa is only about 105%), the boat sailed well. The twin rudders were also a big help and kept the boat from rounding up which so often happens on boats with just a single rudder. We hope you get the chance to sail it sometime. It's a very nice boat.
Love this boat!!!
My dreamboat just changed from the 41DS to the 410 :-)
Both are very nice! The 41DS is now out of production so maybe a 410 is in your future?

Thanks for the comment! I need to check the reasoning behind the door swinging inwards rather than outwards. Back to you shortly!

Nice work 👌🏼

Always looking for the swing keel, and can't find it. The hidden game changer
Nice review
Bad background noise
Love the boat
The boat's the important part!
Absolutely

Any idea when Marion production is going to start?

Great. We will be in Miami. We already ordered ours right after Annapolis and are excited for delivery
Please build mine first!!! lol!!
VERY nice boat. Please forgive me as I'm new to boats, but where would/could you keep a dinghy on a boat like this? Thank you!
With a boat this size, most people would simply tow the dingy but it's easy enough to install some davits to hoist the dingy out of the water.

I see the term GTE and it appears to be related to the keel. Can you please explain what GTE means? Thanks
Hi Chip! GTE is French for "Deep Keel"

Let's see it in 25 knots of breeze.
