I feel like this is a safe space for guitar dads. I feel safe being a dad and a guitar here.
are you a guitar
@@august590 are you not?
Being guitar is important
I'm old enough to be a dad (44), but far too aesthetically & economically challenged to be one.
I'm a guitar
Thank you guys for this. I'm ve been struggling with sickness the last year and you guys always lift my spirit. I especially appreciate these lives, I aways jam along :) U guys are awesome.
❤❤❤
Best wishes to you!
Here for the Neunaber, that thing is absolutely incredible sounding
The first few notes on the Lil’ RAT demonstration reminded me of the emergency broadcast announcement on the radio.
watching JHS lives is like being gently caressed in the soul
My new favorite quote. "We don't even try. Everyone that ever failed at something tried". Thanks for that.
You guys are on fire with your jams in this one. The first jam I actually went back to listen to it a second time........
Was Explosions In The Sky secretly hiding in another room and playing that first jam? Soooooo damn good.
"Can I get a little more guitar in my headphones?"
Said no other drummer, ever.
Josh, you are spoiled with such a drummer.
The first jam on the Nuenadur Reverb “sustain”), is was freaking awesome! I’d love to have been able to actually watched what y’all were doing, but all I could do was gaze at my shoes……
.
6:09 Neunaber actually makes something like this called the Slate with Expanse controller. You can pick a handful of modulation/delay/reverb algorithms and save them as presets.
I always watch these live streams and I've gotta say, Addison's bass tone always cuts through a mix much better than on many professional recordings out there. Respect
His tone actually has a healthy amount of mids. Modern vogue for recording bass guitar is really extreme with mid cuts.
@@EversonBernardes yeah agreed, it's either all dark glass clank or scooped rounds wound slap
The LA-2A is an optical compressor, and Daniel Lenois who co-produced some of U2 albums along with Brian Eno loves to use them on bass. Fun facts!
So glad to see y’all shine a light on Neunaber. Your old “why you need a preamp” episode lead me to finding the Neunaber Neuron which is a great preamp pedal and/or a beast of a sleeper dirt box oh and hey Addison, it has midi too.
Greetings from Melbourne Australia Josh. Such a great live show today gents. And man, the spontaneous jams were fantastic and so musical.. showed off the pedals perfectly. that chorus of yours Josh is now on my list lol... and that Neunaber Immerse (thanks for the pronunciation help - I think of it as 'new neighbour' lol) is really wonderful. Much respect, Simon 🙏
I go for these periods where I don't see a couple of shows, and then I catch one again....and then basically all I want to do is watch all of the shows again and wish we were best friends and hung out all the time and jammed, and made jokes, and bought Rav 4s.
Thanks for the tip on the Neunaber sale, Addison! Just ordered one. Fantastic sounds coming out of that thing.
The jams in these videos always make me smile.
Watching from the Philippines!!! I always go to your channel to learn things even though I do not have any JHS pedals. I hope I'll have one in the future!
That first jam was so nice! super cool!
That Silverchair metal sounded just like a 90's Jerry Cantrell song.
It's amazing what someone who understands pedals can do with them...
Yes! Love these videos guys!
The jam using the “Fuzz It” is what convinced me to buy one. 👍
Ya’ll are killing it.
The day I get a bad cold and decide to sleep in is the day you come back to doing live shows. I wanna win something one of these days, I'm a Hercules expert.
I absolutely love how he demos other pedal brands for our consumption
Thank you for informing me about Ambient 1/ Music for airports.
It's such a groundbreaking, forward album. I hope you like it as much as I do!
It’s hilarious when the Brian Eno jam turns into U2. As soon as the bass comes in…
Such a great episode. Interested in that sag pedal you mentioned!
RE: BBQ- I remember taking trips from Lincoln, NE to K.C. for countless punk shows in the 80's and always went to Arthur Bryant's. Such a great city full of creative minds, was pleased to know you're based there.
That jam at around 41:00, love the bass sound, almost like an 80s synth bass
That first jam.... Damn that was good. I would buy an album with that all day
Wow. That Immerse is AMAZING.
"Box of Bees." Great name for a pedal.
I appreciate Josh's taste when it comes to guitar tone and playing.
That lil fella is the best sound I've had since , years ago when I had a tube screamer and a ibanez metal charger through an Aims 410
🎶Chickity China the Chinese Chicken🎵
Edit: That Brian Eno/RAV 4 jam was absolutely phenomenal!
The ‘tone of goin’ out on the road’ is a geico motorcycle insurance commercial.
I LOVE THE FACT THEY REVIEW & ROCK OUT USING THE GEAR #DOPE
First jam was so damn good, great start to a live show.
How did you get one of the guys from "The life aquatic with Steve Zissou" to be your drummer!? That's sick!
EDIT: NVM I see now it's just Napoleon Dynomites older brother / :
Enjoyed as always, actually learned again today, keep them coming....I think I would rethink the song writing lmao, but I love the improv
We need a “I’ve got that on my board” sting
Great Jams today boys
I can’t wait for the annual JHS public barbecue!
What? There is actually a barbecue at JHS - let me book a flight
I've never really been a fan of the big muff but I love the way that jeff pedal sounds!
Love my Panther Cub v2. Great clean slapback to warm BBD long repeats, tap tempo, quiet and dependable. Get one while you can
That was a nice brian eno type sound, thanks guys
Fly High Lil Sebastian
I agree the lil rat should have been called the pro co mouse
I've had the Neunaber for a minute now. I just keep it on wet settings all the time. It's great.
Glad I got my Panther Cub, and even prouder of the "Built during COVID" sticker. Love everything about it. It'll be missed!
JHS should do a series of one knob pedals, trims inside etc.
The jam that starts at 58:30, is really good. Seriously. I really dig it.
Todays jams were REALLY good. 1st very KOL (would love to be able to play that, did a rewind to listen several times), 2nd (Super U2), 3rd very Siverchair sounding however the sound of the pedal also had an old AC/DC vibe. We not only need these videos but you guys also need to do lessons on how to play some of these tunes. That's it, I'm calling Southwest to get tickets to KC for some lessons
For the record - Addison is a super guy. I shared my ep I released last week with him and he was super kind in his response and 100 genuine. Waddda guy.
Last jam was killer😫
Been rocking the Neunaber Immerse MkII for a year on my guitar board. Amazing sounds. Best shimmer on the market, hands down. The spring *will* drip in the right settings, but ya gotta lay it on a bit thick.
Love your jams... vivé!
Liking the Lil Fella...great sounding and versatile Seems to do a lot Good stuff 👍
this guys have the best job in the world, im just stuck here in a corporate job
There'd be times that id feel like a kid again listening to your music, imagining myself flying over the labyrinth, waving to the goblin king, and he waves back. Age reveal haha.
This is my new meditation channel.
I got my lucky cat just a couple days ago. It was the last one at the shop. I was stoked to grab it I felt super lucky too ;)
Addison called it. Neunaber released that reverb! Nostraddisonamus!
Some John Frusicante tones out of that Rat and some treble booster vibes out of the Li’l fella (you guys said Mayer, I heard Rory Gallagher).
I felt the Cure vibes on that last jam. It was more modern (year 2000+) Cure style IMO
Great show chaps. Big call, but one of your best. ever
that early jam was sick.
Wow that Nada Surf shirt is bonkers
If you're looking for a bucket brigade delay, the dod rubberneck is my favorite. Not sure if Josh has ever featured it but, it's tremendous.
Not saying the Immerse Mk II is the best reverb on the market right now, but I have it on my board, too. Any setting basically sounds good in the W3T, Plate, Hall, Spring and Shimmer. I don't use the rest of the modes, but it's amazing!
Yes it's a wonderful pedal..,I love playing ambient bass tones on high depth settings for ethereal pads like stuff, and it also flavours the core tone on low Mix and Depth settings..also what's cool about the echo and downtune algorithms are they turn into delay and chorus pedals with or without reverb..It's brilliant..
That song at about 16:30 was really pretty. I love you guys writing music from nothing on the spot just by using effects. Do you guys have set Themes you use? Or is it truly spur of the moment?
The sound at 40:00 is super cool! :D
SAG PEDAL YES! I've been looking for a sag pedal. Bought a cheap tube amp, but no tube rectifier! I need that sag!
I think Rhett likes your slide tone.
I just checked out your old podcast 20 questions, and there’s only one episode on there. Would be cool to watch the rest of them one day
What volume pedal are you using during the Eno jam? It’s got a nice sweep to it.
I want your Nada Surf shirt, Josh!
Is there any volume drop with that reverb pedal?
So important to look at your bandmates while jammin: 41:18
I love the way he said “Trujillo” lol
This was so fun. Thanks for going live again! 🙌🏼
It would be awesome if you guys did these streams either weekly or bi-weekly!
Right or wrong aside; the realistic state of the economy, for most people, dictates that they are forced to operate within the parameters of returning items that they do not actually need from day to day. This includes amps and pedals.
:(
Excellent sounds are happening here….
that was nice.
Another great video , love your pedals , own 3 and now I’m in love with the fuzz , Josh man you are a great human being., you never talk bad about your competition at busyness, that says a lot. , really love your show , in my bucket list gotta meet you , and I’ve been with The Rolling Stones, and quite few musicians , I won a contest to interview them for MTV , and I did win but you are in my bucket list of people to meet , , by the way , liked a lot those patch cables , which one are those ????
Thanks for your time , and I’ll keep buying , now I have 3 pedals of yours , 3 picks , 3 nice boxes that I don’t throw away, nice packing, with the red filled of papers , the pick , details at every box , that’s great !! Congrats .please remember about the patch cables ., best regards!!!!
Driving a space car with Kevin - Genius!
I like your Mono pedalboard. What model is it?
That chorus pedal...I'm back to find the 2nd listen
Space Car with Kevin. Another great band name.
Late to the party, but I've been busy!? ;O Still loving what you do Josh. Had to get your Spring Tank to have something to stand in for my ailing '64 Fender stand-alone. ;( I Like 'Drip!' Been planning to get her serviced since December. Delta came along and Mom still wasn't vaxxed until April. Still hesitating about some things.
The Neunaber is awesome in it's versatility! The Li'l Fella might be a must. Had a protracted conversation with Fuzzrocious after getting their LunaReclipse that has a permanent spot in the signal-chain; though the position isn't set. Got a 420 because, why not? ;P The Li'l Rat could save me some space. ;)
Keep posting and creating; I'll keep watching and learning.
Do y’all have an optical LA-2A style comp? Or LA-3A?
Did you guys see the Electro Harmonix Oceans 12? The big one with the dual stereo effects loops I use it in the loops of my Orange and Marshall amps it sounds VERY big. What did you JHS guys think about it? I would love to hear your opinion on it since you build effects thank you for your time
I enjoy this
I have the immerse v1... it is awesome ...presets would be incredible...but why i like it..Josh nailed it...twiddle..twiddle..ooo lets jam on that... its that level of inspiration the sounds give....I think i paid about £100 used and it will never leave my wet/dry board...stereo and kill dry as well.....
Oh man..If you get a chance upgrade to the Mk2..The Sustain mode is unbelievable..and the mix knob goes 100% wet...
Waiting for a flamma feature episode
It’s is a bit of a lame question but what is the pedal mat you are using?
that last jam with the one knob fuzz........
