We did go to Chris's, to try and give him the business, but the queue must have been an hour long. And my youngest was having none of that 😄
Fully agree with you about Chris, A guy that loves life, & enjoys the banter with his punters, So many places are too sterile these days, In case they offend someone !
I thought they were both ok but I agree about the cob being too thick on the first one and that Chris has the personality and customer chatter which the other didn't seem to have.

Trying to work out how you can make a profit on a £1 burger, after a bit of googling, found you can buy catering pack sizes of burgers as cheap as 40p a burger, say 5p for a bap, 2p for a slice of cheese, ingredients come to about 47p. Cooking etc add on 10p, so leave about 43p profit per burger, not a lot, but compare that to burger vans who'll have the same overheads and charge £3.50 for a burger. That's a whooping £2.93 profit per burger.
Profit per burger is one thing, it's the volume of burgers sold (Chris sells approx 300-400 on a busy a weekend) and your overheads & liabilities to debt as a business or individual that dictates the price you sell something for. Burger vans outside pubs or industrial estates would be lucky to do that in a whole week.
It's a great little kitchen Chris has, seems like a dream job to have an arcade too, the thing that makes Chris the real one is the real cheese, unless they were just thick cut onions which is also a bonus!
I went to buy a burger from Chris. Whilst waiting we decided to walk away, he was complaining about sweating and pulling at his t-shirt saying he was "soaked through" and then proceeded to handle the food without washing his hands. It's a £1 burger granted, but basic hygiene costs nothing. In my opinion he would do well to close shop for a day, spend £100 on materials and get the place looking better. It looks quite run down.
I agree Lee that Chris' £1 burger is a much better burger as it is more balanced one at that. The other was way too thick with too much bread. Great video Lee, nice one! Thanks. 😊
