There is a technique to spray painting baseboards or skirting boards, if not done correctly you will end up with dirty or dust all over them. This video will show you how to paint baseboards or skirting boards. Хобби
After a vacuum or sweep we use strips of cardboard (cut down from old boxes) and shove them under the baseboard (skirting) if there is enough room. This will minimize a lot if dust debris
If there is enough room under the baseboards then yes using cardboard works well.

Love ur videos. What's best tip size and psi to spray walls without leaving lap marks
It will depend on the paint you are using but a good starting point would be 515 to 517 tip and psi from 1500 to 2200 , for memory 1800 psi seems to be about the mark.

Have you ever tried one of those stupid broom dusters?
yes and they are still slower to use.
What pressure do you spray gloss on? Hi, low?
+wackokid It will depend on tip size and viscosity of the paint you are using, all you can do is test spray but I have sprayed as low as 600 psi using a 211 tip. I think it was about 600 psi, it was awhile ago and I remember the pressure was very low and that was using Semi Gloss Enamel.
it's alright going around the room in one direction but as most rooms are rectangles , won't you always end up where you started and blow dust all over that bit ?

As Chris said, start at doorway.

Any tips for spraying baseboards in a house that is occupied and has carpets underneath??
Yes, don't spray it, by the time you set everything up to spray you could have brushed them. Also very risky with carpet around, just one mistake and you could be up for new carpet.

Do you use 1 or 2 coats when spraying baseboards?
Normally I will spray on the undercoat when possible and most times just brush the final coat.

sometimes i throw water on the floor it works well
Yes that does work but it won't help with all the dust trapped under the skirting.
You can't dust off the skirting with a vacuum cleaner, you can vacuum the ground and maybe the top edge of the skirting.but to do the face of the skirting is too hard and too slow to do. That's why the stupid broom works well, you can dust off top edge and face all at the same time, something a regular broom or vacuum can not do.
