This was a favourite in my house growing up. When you cook these dishes yourself you realise the effort and time it takes in preparing south Asian food. Bless our mums!
So true! Our Asian Mothers are so dedicated towards the family, the food is made with added extra ingredient is Love. God bless our Mums.🙏 I miss mine.💔
My mom was an amazing cook and I’ve been missing her food so much. She used to make the best Aloo Gosht my toungue has ever tasted but she passed suddenly in August 2022. She didn’t leave any recipes behind and unfortunately I never got to learn. I can’t wait to try making this. I can tell u that just from looking at the the viscosity of the curry, and the tenderness of the meat, it seems identical. Thank you so much for this recipe.
Im so sorry to hear this. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Thank you and I hope this recipe tastes just how your mum used to make it. Please do let me know when you get round to trying the recipe. JzkA

Hi shamza I made your aloo gosht last night wow what can I say, it was just beautiful really thick and rich, I've got rid of all my other recipes, I'm just going to use your recipes from now on, thanks again shamza your the best.
I’m gonna tell you something I’m Moroccan my husband is Pakistani and I just learned how to make Asian food my husband. He is a cry every single time when I cook for him.😅 love the third oh my God, I can’t live without
Wonderful! If you like it this way. Everyone cooks it differently. Try browning the onions a bit more, preferably red onions instead of white, sear the mutton more that allows the moisture to lock in. Rest as you feel right, personally I would add ginger and garlic before adding the mutton. That is to let the mutton soak in the flavors before it locks after searing. Tomato goes in later as that will slow down the cooking. Try getting "Nutmeg", just smell it and you will know how amazing it will make your dish. Keep more coming! ❤

I have been cooking Indian foods for nearly 20 years (worked with a chap who owned a restaurant he taught me a lot) your recipe works really well and is well explained . OMG Shamza. Dribbling.... Presentation spot on as usual and cant wait to try this. You've taught me so much. I've noted some 'comments' below mention the cast iron casserole pot that you used. I have a couple of 'Le Creuset', oval shaped pots, that have served faithfully for over 35+ yrs. So easy to clean and still look great! I've made this before and this looks really good, how do you bhuna sauce in pressure cooker? You would never achieve the same result
Just follow the recipe as it is, nothing changes other than the cooking times of the meat.
Thank you for the clear explanation ❤

@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes - You're welcome !!
Amazing as always.👏🏻
I'm now tempted to get a new round one. ....pricey but hey I've been hankering for one for years!
Hi John, thank you for your kind words as always! 😊👍
I have a Cuisinart one which is a cheaper version but nevertheless brilliant in performance. I absolutely love mine to bits and wait to expand when one day I have a bigger kitchen. You should treat yourself and go buy one! 😊
This looks amazing! If I wanted to added peas, at what point would I add them?

Looks amazing! Does it have to be leg of lamb on the bone? Cannot see any local supermarkets that sell it and I would love to try make this in the weekend. Thank you ☺️
It doesn't have to be, the bone will just give more flavour to the dish.
