I'm from Iceland and live there, in a small village on the northeast coast. There are very few sailboats near me, practically non-but there are still some in the summer time passing be, usually on their way around Iceland or on their way to Greenland. I like your video very much and look forward to watching in the future.

Yes, I can see northern lights in the winter time, I would not say every night, my by ones in a week if the weather is good and clear sky. I like how you do it. Go far from home to find a boat and sail back home with some adventurous along the way.

Advise to take the spinnaker down when wind increase 20 - 25 knots: 1. Captain should do it him self (not your lady!!!) 2. The main should always been hoisted when sailing spinnaker, even thou it's not get extra speed in light wind. 3. When time to take it down; sail as much down wind as you can i.e. 180 degrees 4. High boat speed = less power in spinnaker (=start the engine and run to increase speed). 5. Ease sheet to get spinnaker behind the main = the spinnaker now start to collapse and captain could easily lower the sock 6. Use gloves 7. Use a block like "Elvstrom Ratchet Block" then much easier to hold sock line half way, if spinnaker suddenly start to fill again

I think another couple from Sailing RAN may have taken the short-cut canal but they did it the winter months and for that reason did not show much footage of their travels through the canal. It was pretty depressing at that time of the year, when they traversed the canal.

Usamos esse serviço, commandersweather.com, uma vez para cruzar de Cherbourg para Corunha e acho que valeu muito a pena! Abraço
You guys should keep a bottle of lavender essentials oils on board. It's a medicine chest all in a bottle. Good for any kind of burns, (if applied immediately you won't get blisters) cuts, infections, bruises, tooth ache, ear ache etc etc etc. Use neat and apply direct and don't cover. Good for bad tummy as well. I drop of lavender (and nauseated, 1 drop Peppermint oil) great video. Subscribed
Any music is a very personal choice. So I have no suggestions of any genre or artist. Some songs will work with...... Eg. a sunrise on the ocean and some different genres will work say in a night club! It is about a feeling or ambience you want to create.

Nice idea, to have a dashcam aboard when going along the dashcamwise diverting NOK (or Kiel Canal, like You call it ... NOK meaning Nord-Ostsee Kanal .... try this in Browns-Butthole-accent 😂 ; and some still refer to it as Kaiser Wilhelm Kanal). Have a ball!
