Funny, Chris, to see you interviewing this man. We have been following him for more than a few years now. He is a really great sailor, and an interesting person.
I really like a few things about that cabin layout. The off center companionways and the side galley. It makes it easy for people doing things in one place to be out of the way of others coming and going about their own duties.
Even tho he has state of the arts electronics he admits that solar and wind keeps his batteries full. Even in Alaska. That German man is very smart and loved how he talks about all the safety. I would feel safe sailing with him.
I sold cruises for 25 yrs and found that even though the new were pretty and fancy, the real cruisers liked the classic smaller older ships until they were taken out of American waters. This is a terrific view into a classic full time boater. THANK YOU for sharing this lifestyle of living in a tiny home. Thanks to Christian for sharing his home with us - LOVED IT !!!
Germans are really good in English... hello this is the German Coast Guard, what seems to be your problem? We are sinking, we are sinking! Hmm, what are you sinking about?
A great video and insight into the life onboard a 1970s yacht that oozes character. Thank you for sharing with us what you have. Stay safe out there on the water and good luck to you on your future adventures! 🙂
We sailed this same boat (same model) from Southern California to the South Pacific and back in '82-'83. The Force 50 is a tank, and can handle just about anything.
+499PUCK lots of Germans are. We have been brainwashed by Hollywoods after WW2 bad movies. Germans are trust worthy and will give you a bed or there last shirt. Plus they are clean. I love traveling to Germany. Would be cool to sail ( well motor) up the Rhein, is that even possible?
TodaysRealHealth, I just judge people as individuals. Christian knows how to get things done. His interactions with others shows his character as a human being. You can motor the Rhein but in some places you need a pilot.
That is such a cool boat! One of the things I look forward to most about traveling is that we will get to meet cool and interesting people like Christian!
Very cool video. Chris' easy going style, good communication skills, and intelligent approach to outfitting and sailing his boat are the perfect traits of a good captain. The kind that makes a voyage pleasant.
I love the look of the boat.. It does have a more rustic look to it.. I loved the tour of the boat.. I have never been sailing and would love to learn how someday.. I really want to tour the world.. Sailing Across oceans is on my bucket list
Force 50, Formosa 51, Hudson 50 (and a couple of other names). These boats were built in Taiwan and are for sale all over the place from $125,000 - $250,000. Not much less than a decent sized house in the suburbs. But, a whole lot more maintenance, and monthly expense. Don"t fool yourself. Boats are no "deal".
That's funny...I just subscribed to his channel a couple weeks ago. Knew he was heading to Alaska but on his channel he's still in Hawaii. Good to know he made it ok. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the tour. My parents would take me to live on our boat in the summers in Michigan. His boat is exactly what I have always wanted for myself. I don't think I could have clicked on this video link any harder! hahah anyways thanks.
Great seeing this sailboat! Must admit that sailboats aren't my cup of tea however admire those that are passionate about sailing. Guess I love terra firma more!
I to love a good story about a boats history and not to mention the size of the boat. One day I'm going to figure out how to find one of those for sale.
Just come across this, many moons later, I must admit I was fooled from on deck into thinking this boat was her bigger sister, the William Garden designed Formosa 52' also a Taiwanese built boat with an identical top sides layout. Great old long keel heavy displacement blue water boat.
very interesting that you two met up. I follow sy-zero and several other sailing channels, as well as yours and several other RV chans. I RV all summer then sail all winter.
Don't kid yourself, sailing a sail boat is not easy, takes constant attention and hard work at times. have sailed and help sail various craft, and after a bad experience in a race from the captain who turned into Captain Hook who treatened to throw me over board in shark invested waters (for real), I happily gave it all up.
I've been watching people sail on RUclips. I always wanted a sailboat. Get pushed everywhere by the wind, playing Jimmy Buffet music, but it doesn't look like fun. Waves, no scenery, everything is wet all the time, no shade, isolation.....
You have to be very lucky to fall in with good sea companions. Then it must be best exprience in the world because even with bad people its still an adventure!
Patriot, The race from Miami to one of the Keys was always about 2 hours tops, but the wind died down to mostly nothing and the race turned into about 6 hours, to most of the other racers it was a fun party atmosphere, but not on our boat, where Black Beard demanded the 2 mates to watch the masts every second of the journey and we drank only water, the sun was blistering and with only a thin top on I got a real bad burn. Capt. Beard constantly yelled at both of us and threatened to throw me into shark infested waters if I didn't keep alert for one second for any slight wind. At the end of the race a huge storm came up, that was so strong it was braking masts on other boats, and many were pulling down their sails, but not Black Beard. There was a bridge going over the water with pilings into the water, even at great risk to our lives Capt. demanded we sail on, we were going so fast that the bottom kiel could be seen above water. We came in 3rd and Beard demanded we 2 mates tie up and button down the hatches. Instead I yelled at him so everybody could hear and walked away, NEVER TO SAIL AGAIN.
He seems like a stand-up guy, nice of him to give us a tour of his boat.
Pretty cool dude, to let those people spend the night too👍
justin case = rocky rolletti = peter jordan

He's got a mizzen sail? Hope he finds it!
BADA-BING!!!!!😁
Nice to see a real sailor with a real sailboat
I love these kind of videos of regular people living the dream ! Very nice sailboat and thanks for sharing.
That is a big boat to sail alone. Great job.
Life With THE ROCK He kept saying “we” too, as if there may be others in fact.
@@bigpoppa3020 he probably means his dog .. :p
@@bollarna "Christian is currently sailing the world with his girlfriend" 🤔🤔🤔
I really enjoyed this!
Christian is such an intelligent and well spoken guy, and that boat is fabulous.
Thanks for showing us around.
Happy Camping!

What a great boat you don’t see to many like that any more and a great life thanks for sharing
Now that was great...cool folks and nice boat...very cool

For your R/V friends, there is not more pure of a self-sufficient situation than sailing. Sailors are completely self sufficient and ecological.
Its people like you that gives me inspiration
this guy and his boat are amazing! thank you for shooting the video!!
this is by far the most beautiful boat I've ever seen.
Beautiful is the word. The boat has so much character! It reminds me of a cabin in the woods.
You are joking, right?
sailing ZERO
Jon DeHoff I'm kinda partial to my P-30 sloop...lol
I like the boat too. :-)
Great presentation Christian gave of Zero, which seems very spacious. A pilot house seems to make a big difference. Thanks for sharing.
This guy definitely has the most bad ass boat there is. And I like the way he explains things.
I have to agree Joe!
Not exactly a tiny boat
Yeah, he's very smart and well spoken it's enjoyable to listen to him.
Germans are really good in English... hello this is the German Coast Guard, what seems to be your problem? We are sinking, we are sinking! Hmm, what are you sinking about?
I loved that one......I always to this day say what are you sinking about? No one gets it...hahahha
This man is a true adventurer and sailor.. Safe passage throughout your journey, form those of us who only dream about doing something like this..
This was awesome. I really enjoyed this . I love it when People with good hearts meet people and they give them sanctuary that was so cool of him.
One of the best videos you have shown Chris..... Thanks for sharing Christian..
Living on a boat is wonderful. Any day at sea is a great day !!!
What a wonderful boat, and life. It's always been my dream to live aboard a boat like this and sail the world. Great video.
Great video Chris . Thanks to Christian for the narrated tour of his classic 40 years old " Old Lady " sail boat .
I forgot to add that I'm loving the direction you and G are taking the channel! Great job to you both!
A great video and insight into the life onboard a 1970s yacht that oozes character.
Thank you for sharing with us what you have. Stay safe out there on the water and good luck to you on your future adventures! 🙂

Christian is a bad ass I've been following him and zero for a while great interview
He is a really great guy!
Christian know his stuff. Smart, hard working, and fun loving.

does he have a yt channel?
I can tell he has the "blood of Leif Erikson" running thru this veins! Thank for the tour.
Seems like a nice guy, and loads of fun and adventure.
That is such a cool boat! One of the things I look forward to most about traveling is that we will get to meet cool and interesting people like Christian!
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing your joy with us!
Very cool video. Chris' easy going style, good communication skills, and intelligent approach to outfitting and sailing his boat are the perfect traits of a good captain. The kind that makes a voyage pleasant.
Didn't realize how big the boat was from his videos.
Great video, I agree with Guy Mooglie this is one of best videos that you have shown. Many thanks
Real nice boat! Cant believe he sails that by himself, huge boat to go at it alone.
Actually the dog sails it, he's just there for the views
Sailing a ketch by yourself with no automation is no small feat.
I would put servo winches to all sails with an automatic sail management.
Looking forward to your future sailing adventures Chris.
I love the look of the boat.. It does have a more rustic look to it..
I loved the tour of the boat.. I have never been sailing and would love to learn how someday..
I really want to tour the world.. Sailing Across oceans is on my bucket list
his wolfhunfde is super-cool! what s his/her name?
I always wondered how to even go about getting a boat similar to this. How much do you think it would cost?
A friend had a 52' ketch he called his two bedroom two bath with an ocean view. The layout was a bit different, but what a sweet sailer.
Wonderful way of life nice working blue water boat with all the toys and well equipped
Thank you for showing us your boat!
Great video. Love the way he explained how the boat works.
WOW. Lots of room and two bathrooms! That's would be an awesome way to live and travel.
Nice boat with a good setup solar panels, wind turbine, large windows multiple life boats, and high railings not to mention it's huge!
Shaggy Mason huge windows are frowned upon in boats, the power of a huge wave is immense.
Ronald Reed shatter/impact resistant?
Thank You . This Old Boy Enjoy Seeing Her I Will Subscribe ! Hope to see Her Sail ! :)
Thank you for that. That anchor is great
beautiful old sail boat
..very nice...few months ago i have purchased Bruce Roberts Spray 57 ketch(1984)..very similar design...thumbs up..
my favorite part is the otter in the water
Great video Chris! It's nice to see your interviews or videos, about other interesting people! Beautiful sailboat! ⛵️
Beautiful Boat, Thank You for the Tour.
That's funny...I just subscribed to his channel a couple weeks ago. Knew he was heading to Alaska but on his channel he's still in Hawaii. Good to know he made it ok. Thanks for the video.

Fascinating stuff, Chris! Thank you for the interview and posting the video! :-)
wow this guy is living the dream!
that is freaking badass, kudos to this guy
Really nice boat, Christian!
Thank you for the tour. My parents would take me to live on our boat in the summers in Michigan. His boat is exactly what I have always wanted for myself. I don't think I could have clicked on this video link any harder! hahah anyways thanks.
Ross Duprey my boat is currently on the hill in alpena. I normally stay around fl tho.
Awesome boat. My friend has a sail boat with the same style but is a regular sail boat, being allot smaller.
A beautiful 'Dream boat'. 💚☘🇮🇪 What make is that silent wind generater, please. I'm retiring soon and taking to the seas. 👊
That's a massive boat for one person! I'd be happy living in a 26fter but wouldn't complain about living in this 😂
Great looking vessel.
Great seeing this sailboat! Must admit that sailboats aren't my cup of tea however admire those that are passionate about sailing. Guess I love terra firma more!
I to love a good story about a boats history and not to mention the size of the boat. One day I'm going to figure out how to find one of those for sale.
One day.
I ams urprised we are not seeing more wind power adapted to Rv life. I know they sell a kit, but have never seen one in use.
Peeps. Ya gotta watch Captain Ron. Same type of boat was used for that! Tiny boat, I don't think so. Tanya Abei circumnavigated on a Contessa 26.
I would go with ya anytime.Nice boat. Looks like lots of fun, Do you need to carry, long rang radios, for weather reports or diving equipment?
Just come across this, many moons later, I must admit I was fooled from on deck into thinking this boat was her bigger sister, the William Garden designed Formosa 52' also a Taiwanese built boat with an identical top sides layout. Great old long keel heavy displacement blue water boat.
That was AWESOME
“If the shit hits the fan and we sink ....” - Laughing my ass off 😂👍. But seriously, your boat is like the Calypso more of a small ship - awesome.
Excellent Video Chris.. I learned a few things and thanks to Christian for the tour, Cheers =D ..."Video shared" ;)
It looks like a great boat to live on
Tiny!? That's bigger than my house! This may have swung me over to a pilot house too...Fantastic, concise explanations on the tour! Thanks!
I love your boat!
Nice vid..Thanks for sharing man you guys have a nice life. Keep it up
I bet Christain is slim because he works hard for long hours, one tough guy!!!!!
Ray Sarchet j
Utterly fascinating!
Question, do you take you're dog with you, and if so, how do the laws of other countries, effect you, having a dog or pets with you ?
what kind of wind generator does he have? he speaks very highly of it's low noise.
very interesting that you two met up. I follow sy-zero and several other sailing channels, as well as yours and several other RV chans. I RV all summer then sail all winter.
Excellent tour and an excellent boat...
Great tour, thanks...
that sailboat is huge!
most perfect boat.
Bravo! Cool interview! What an adventure! Great editing!

April Mae if you give up every time someone is mean you’ll end up doing nothing. Get back out there and hang with friends!
That was awesome Chris!
looks like a comfy boat. Where in AK were you docked. It looked familiar.
