I'd be down to watch a 20-minute clip of you feeding the ducks but nooo you just had to go and make a beautifully put-together piece that made me think and feel and was absolutely gorgeous to watch
❤️
I live in Lisbon and the city is usually filled with people, so I think this was really a pandemic effect. Lisbon in the summer is a very happy and festive place. On the other hand we are, as a country, defined by a sense of nostalgia so I totally understand why you felt that.
Yeahh, I completely agree with you..Lisbon is awesome!
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏
walking around is really underrated.
I'm loving all the footage from your adventures in Portugal and France. I'll never take travelling for granted ever again.
The footage was beautiful!

I cannot believe how consistently you’ve been posting such fresh, high quality, thought-provoking content. Thank you for the positivity. Please keep going. Love from North Carolina.
You bet! Finishing the year strong!!
Yooo nc gang
I can’t begin to explain how nostalgic this video made me feel. I’m half Hungarian half Portuguese and as a kid I lived in Portugal for 4 years. It was the most magical time of my life, once we moved my whole perspective on life changed. I haven’t been able to visit Portugal in 10 years (I’m 19). I really hope we can travel soon as a big part of my family lives there and I want to connect with them again.
Thank you for this beautiful video.✨
The pace in Portugal is slow for sure when you've lived anywhere else. But it's also why it's so comfortable and warm to be there. As someone who grew up in Portugal and moved to London, that change really shaped my view on the world and I will never take the comfort and space, nature of Portugal for granted ever again, nor will I take the speed of London, as they're so complementary to who I've become. There are so many beautiful places in the world, each of them with their uniqueness to them, which is why travel is one of the best things one can do to become a better version of themselves. In a way, knowing different perspectives really does make one more understanding and only fills us up with more wanderlust.
Yeah, I totally agree with you...I'm from London but living in Portugal last year changed me in so many ways!

"Fortunately, whoever's running this simulation..." Not even 10 seconds in and he already got me
😅
I was born and raised in Lisbon. At 11, we had to emigrate. I have always felt a certain unease with Lisbon, almost resentment. It’s the home that was not home anymore. I spent Easters there but as a teenager, rolled my eyes at everything and was constantly eager to return to what had become ‘home’.
Watching this made me emotional. It’s still uncomfortable. I often think what life would have been like if I hadn’t been moved. Who I would be. There is so much hurt associated with this place but I am grateful for it.
Thanks to you, I’m there when I can’t be. I realized that this is part of my story, my past, my being. It will never stop being home, I guess.
"Lisbon is beautiful but also kind of a little sad in a way i can't really explain...": Nostalgia y decadencia, esa es la sensación que esa ciudad me da siempre 💔
Saudade is so strong there..
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏
Thank you for highlighting the video was primarily shot on your phone, i hope other film makers find this as motivational as I did
Yeah, definitely motivational for a creator like me..
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
May I say I love your honesty regarding your feelings towards Lisbon. Even if a place is beautiful and interesting, that doesn't mean we belong there.
"Lisbon is beautiful, but also kind of a little sad, in a way I can't really explain" - Sir you just described Lisbon perfectly. Im Portuguese and been living in Lisbon for more than 10 years. Beautiful melancholy could also be fitting.
Portugal is just so full of saudade..
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
Portland Oregon represent!! Another great video.
I've never traveled anywhere and 2020 I was hoping to begin. I'm glad you share your travels and experience. Seeing you do it helps keep my exploration
dreams alive
Lisbon is on my top 10 list of places I need to visit before I die. Also, the quality and effort you put into your scripts, filming and post production is AMAZING 👏 Every video is better than the previous one but each one is a masterpiece in their own way, like how is it possible!?! 😅
I love the way this channel goes. It's so satisfying watching this kind of short and beautiful videos. My day just got a little bit happier 😌
Isn't it almost insane how when we were kids there were no cell phones and now you can basically make a *piece of art* with a tiny camera attached to what is essentially a mini computer? what a time to be alive
What a beautiful city! I really enjoyed this compilation!
Yeah, Lisbon is stunning..
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
The vibe of lockdown, you captured them all in the way we've never imagined, Nathan.
I cant forget those videos from Paris in Lockdown, so hauntingly beautiful.
Yeah..it was perfectly captured!
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
It's crazy to see how lisbon was empty when you were there ahahaha I've never seen so little people in Alfama, or even in the streets ! Glad you liked it and let us know if you'll be back soon ;)
Ahah yeah that was surprising for me to see too..

You give me such a different (yet accurate) view of my city, it's incredible. Amazing video.
I think people will buy those postcards. The pictures look amazing.
What a coincidence! I just moved to Portugal and stumbled upon this video 💛
Oh I want to move to Portugal soon..how are you finding it?

"Whoever's running this simulation"
Nathaniel! I'd lived in Lisbon from September 2019 to April 2020 (had to leave for the virus ugh) and just last week I lost all my photos and videos from last year and a half, had no backup either! I'd documented this old man sitting in a café every day at 10am filling out crosswords. I lived in Graça and the place at 2:33, the tall pink tiled builging, was my go to spot to contemplate at nights. I'm so upset, I've had massive saudade ever since I left Portugal and watching this felt exactly like that - beautiful but fleeting visit. Lisbon is my happy place. Thank you for reminding me :-)
This video with your narration gave me some insight about a relationship that ended on November 1st, I live in Portugal, right on the other side of that big red bridge, and my ex-girlfriend loves the city of Lisbon, every little nook and hiding spot, watching this video reminded me of the time me and her were only getting to know each other where she left work and we went on a huge walk through Lisbon, just talking and getting lost in time, every place we walked through appeared in this video, seeing these places and everything made me a little anxious because it's been a very hard breakup for me, but somehow, that ending part you said that you wanted to fall in love and it just didn't happen, somehow or someway, gave me closure. And for that I thank you.
This was a beautiful message...Portugal is so full of saudade, it's crazy! I hope you're doing better after your breakup now!
I've just posted a personal film about my connection to Portugal too and why it keeps pulling me back...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
Lisbon is my favorite city in the world. It’s filled with people, good food, music and every little happy and fun things. I love Lisbon!! Portugal is beautiful. You would love to come back in a covid free days for sure 😂
Lisbon is so stunning...
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
You just went there in a very wrong moment. Try to go back there when things will start to go back to normal and you'll find one of the most alive, young, passionate and beautiful city in Europe!
He did love it, though. Even in summer, it’s slightly nostalgic as a place. That’s a beautiful thing
Uhhhhh using "AWAKE" by Big Wild at the end makes soooo much sense. Thank you for letting footstep we (or ME personally) can follow.
i love the big wild at the end of the video!! i was obsessed with this album when I visited friends in england and the czech republic last summer, it makes me feel like i'm back over there
Such beautiful shots!
Funny how I live in Lisbon and I feel like it’s fast paced, always so vibrant with color and life. Definitely been calmer since the pandemic tho.. And Yes, you’re always up or down in the centre! 7 hill city they say 🤷🏾♀️
Yeah, I'm sure the pandemic has changed Lisbon..
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
I love the postcards! Please continue to release more of your beautiful photography. ☀️❤️
I live in Lisbon and loved this video, simple but beautiful 🙂
Espero que voltes à nossa bonita cidade, novamente ! ( just because i know you speak a bit of portuguese )
Lisbon is awesome!

that super rich kids playing in the background got me
Thanks for posting the music in the description. I thought that second song sounded familiar. Turns out, it's a remix of a song by Frank Ocean! Love it!
This was so humanly beautiful! Thank you! 🌸
Your short films are always amazing! Every time I watch your videos I feel inspired and calm! Thank you for your amazing work💕
Last time I was in Lisbon it was the perfect mixture between slow and joyful. I was so happy there so I guess it's the lockdown :(. I hope that next year we are going to be slowly back to normal and it's possible and save to travel again.
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
Truly beautiful videography
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇 🇵🇹
I was surprised when you said Lisbon is slow paced, because I have always seen it as such a vibrant city where things seem to happen so quickly, even though the rhythm and lifestyle isn't as crazy as Paris or London for instance. I have relatives who live there and they always complain about how stressful Lisbon is. But if you are interested in visiting historical sites there is a lot to see :)
I suppose it must be the effect of lockdown and lack of tourism, everything in the country seemed to be super toned down this year, I've never seen the streets this empty before. Hopefully you'll be able to visit again when covid is gone and fall in love with Portugal ❤
I fully fell in love with Portugal...

The simple yet elegant B Roll of the one and only Nathaniel Drew
Hahaha I loved the scene with the ducks! My final project in French was about les canards... 🤣
Thank you, I don't know what it is about your videos, but having just run into them, I've completely fallen in love with my art again. I see a new way of enjoying life that I thought the pandemic had totally taken from me, but you are an inspiration.
I fell in love with Portugal too.. 😊

The postcard idea is wonderful
Cheers from Portland Oregon Nathaniel!
Nice memories coming back. Thanks
I am forever inspired by you!! Probably my greatest inspiration yet! 🙌🏽
that light is beauuuutiful
it is totally noticeable in the depth of field and that sometimes the angle crane is somewhat dizzy but usually the background voice makes you forget about this. Great video
Please make some bundles of the postcards. I’d love to buy a bunch, to use for handing out notes - interesting conversation piece, and could hope other people check out your channel after 😊
Dude, you were lucky about friends you made at the Gulbenkian gardens. I was there once doing a picnic with some friends, in the same spot you were, and some pigeons really dropped the deuce on us!
I love your (videos quality/unique shots /music /artistic part /voice /reaction) ❤️
I'm just loving every bit of this channel... U r so captivating... Just keep going.. Good luck🍀 ❤
Your from Protland!!! I grew up just a few hours towards the coast in CoosBay Northbend
The postcards are so lovely! I could use them as posters even, but getting them back to Europe through the US sounds like unnecessary extra for me. :(
We are a nostalgic people indeed and the pandemic is taking a toll on the emotional side of everything - as in many other places around the world. We love to hug and greet with kisses, we love seasonal small village festivities, our songs are equal part nostalgia and joy. For instance, the fado of Coimbra is happy ballads of being a carefree student, independent, in love, or nostalgic songs of goodbye to the youth, to the friends made - because Coimbra was mostly an academic town and the students leave after the studies. How so Portuguese of us to romanticize that feeling.
If you come back after the pandemic you might still find a melancholic nostalgic country, still almost too slow, but for sure you'll see different things, a warmth hand to hand with the saudade.
I'd say. I don't know, guess I'm biased :)
I fell in love with Portugal too.. 😊

Lisbon looks beautiful, in a quiet way.
Any time I see the cobbled streets and colorful houses, I begin dreaming of visiting.
Thanks for sharing 👍🏽
Yeah, Lisbon looks stunning...

I’ve been to Lisbon the week before Christmas 2 years ago and it’s crazy how many places I recognized! Lisbon probably has to be one of my favorite cities I’ve ever been to!
Yeah, Lisbon is so awesome..
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
Nice little video! You're good at storytelling while letting the video play!
Yes! please, more postcards!!!
“There’s somethings you can’t run from. And I’m probably projecting. I think I wanted to fall in love here, but it didn’t happen. I guess things happen when they’re supposed to.”
I don’t know if it was the pace of your voice, the background music, how you wrote this, the camera movement, the cuts... but it just felt very intimate, like we are your best friends and you’re just opening your heart and wandering about what you felt there 💛
I've been thinking about whether i should start filming from my phone and editing and this really gave me the confidence I can do it! Thanks again dude
What apps would u use?

JAAAACKED!!!
I'd love to see you going to some part of Spain! super fresh quality bro!
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
these postcards are beautiful!
Loved the video, can't believe it was mostly shot on an Iphone, it really shows that storytelling and creativity are what matters the most. However, as a Portuguese who lives in Lisboa, I have to disagree with your view of the city as "a little bit sad" and "slow-paced". I think if in the future you manage to experience the city without the atmosphere that the pandemic creates, you will find it much more vibrant and alive. Regardless, congrats on another beautiful short film! :)
Also, Gulbenkian patos are the best! ahah
Got to the end half and I RAN to the shop for those postcards
I just love how you sum up the feeling and the wonders of Lisbon and Portugal in particular with these videos. I'm amazed. If you're ever want to visit Portimão or the Algarve just say something! Keep up the good work, you're amazing!
Lisbon seems so beautiful!
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
Don't know exactly why, but your opinion, Lisbon is "a little bit sad and (maybe too) slow" made me pondering more about than it should. I spend some time there last year and that's exactly the feeling I had while visiting this amazing city. Maybe that feeling comes from a way to tayloristic and economic perspective but I think it's really sad to see all that "decay" in such a beautiful place with so much potential...
Portugal is like that pretty much everywhere 😅 We're not exactly a rich country
Yeah, Portugal is full of saudade..
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
Just purchased! Excited to have them on my wall :)
Your street photography is always so beautiful! And those post cards look amazing, I’m sure everyone who buys them will love them
This reminds me of "Eat pray Love", Liz said the same, Venice a melancholic city.
Bc they are dead cities... glory is over..ppl forget these places are founded on slavery and colonization and genocide. Yeah there beautiful but kinda haunted by their pasts too....
bro your storytelling is so good!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is such a scarily accurate representation of Lisbon. I don't understand how the city has that strong an effect??? I just came home after living there for a month and I have never experienced a pretty place which made me so sad?? especially belem for some reason
Ahah yeah, it's so full of saudade..
I've just posted a travel film about my connection to Portugal too...you should check it out. 😇🙏 🇵🇹
I love the post cards! Def getting all my friends this for Christmas!
Just wanted to comment about the postcards: I'm an absolute postcard fiend and love your photography. So I'm obviously very excited about these!
However, they are quite expensive... I completely understand that these are high quality and that you're probably not making bank on them. But even being the ideal client for this type of product, I'm hesitating to buy them, and probably won't get as many as I like. I might ask for them as a one off Christmas present.
This is by no means intended as a criticism! As I said, they are gorgeous, and I understand you must have plenty of production costs involved. I'm just giving a heads up that I feel like the cost might be slightly prohibitive. But I might be wrong. Maybe worth looking into bundle options as well - I would be into that :)
(By bundle I mean I would love, eg, a deal if I get one of each. In fact, that would be my ideal Christmas present)
Hi! I totally hear you. Built into the price is free shipping worldwide, although I completely understand where you’re coming from. I will be potentially running sales in the future as well, so maybe then this might match up a little better with your budget. But regardless I appreciate the kind words and the honesty.
I love Frank Ocean too ❤️
edit: I bought "Waiting" (Paris, 2020). I like the story behind it.
I actually found Lisbon to be a vibrant place when I was there a few years ago. I think it's just that everywhere has been a bit "sad and slow" the past year. Thanks as always for sharing, I always look forward to your posts and thoughts!
Just bought a print. They’re lovely and I’m happy to support you!
So happy you released the Post Cards! I ordered some and can’t wait to see them! Also another great video like always
I think the simulation finally has something nice in store for us.
And the prints really look amazing!!❤️
the postcards are incredible and this is such a great idea! I've been looking for postcards that match my aesthetic.
i love this style of video!

I visited Lisbon alone and it was the best gift I've ever given to myself. It was absolutely beautiful!
So beautiful. Loved the way you describe your thoughts about it.
I really love this. You should do it more often when you do short trips!
I fell in love with Portugal too.. 😊

Your photographs are soo good dude! I like it soo much. Keep inspiring.
First, I can not wrap my head around the fact that you were so near to my job (in Restauradores).
Second, Lisbon it's a slower pace city compared to Paris or London but it's not that much. Before Covid-19 the streets were full of people and life.
You have to comeback when comes back to "normal".
Loved it! xx
Naaa I think we as lucky to see the city without the tourists.
And if he thinks it's too slow paced.... it's better not go to Alentejo :):):):)
@@lxportugal9343 ahahahahah true! Last December/January I had to walk on the streets rather then the pavement to avoid the crowds 😂
I fell in love with Portugal..
