It’s a sad thing that even with all this affirmation of the Bible’s history, diehard atheists will totally ignore this historical record because of their materialistic and naturalistic presuppositions.
Secondly, if you compare this historical record with the Koran or the Book of Mormon, they do not have any of these verifications.

The Bible that matters is The Authorized Uersion of 1611. It has 80 books. There are other important books that are not in The Bible, for good reason. Books like Enoch are not for non-beleeuers, they are for those that already beleeue. There is more to The Word of God than what meets the eye. God knows how to diuide the sheep from the goats very well.

I think the thing that so many of my Christian brethren don't understand is that evidence, or proof isn't the issue with a vast majority of atheists. I am not saying to stop praying for the lost or to no longer minister to the most intellectual of intellectuals. However do not make an idol of scientific proofs. The reason being is that our trust is on Christ, historical details can be overturned or given alternate explanations that disbelievers will latch onto, with as much religious zeal as most church goers. Having said that, it is not unimportant that the Bible has historical events and artifacts that everyone can see, touch and place in the right time and location.

DAVID the KING is by far one of the most impressive stories in the Bible and Wonderful example of many things about the Almighty. God loves music in fact His whole Creation is like Music. David was a shepherd, a sheep, goat and other animals caretaker but what set him apart was he played a musical instrument and sang songs to God.
He was very different from other young men of his time because his heart was pure for the Almighty, and even though he was imperfect as we all are God used his life as an everlasting example.
He was (and is) super cool.

Actually, I think he does to those interact with those who are paying attention. But most people haven't learned how to recognize how God speaks and interacts with us. And even then, there is still faith involved. So I understand it can be tough.

I accept them all: the finds that confirm certain historical stories in the bible and the finds that confirm that contradict claims or prove parts that are being downplayed or dismissed by Christians.
The fact is there is not a single piece of archaeological evidence for any supernatural claim.

Talking about identity, not only is this Jewish identity but the human identity. We are all offsprings of one of Noah's sons. God is allowing scientists to discover truth. I was in grade school and came home crying because the teacher in science class said that we evolved from the ape. I was just 10, but the thought was horrifying. I told my Dad; he smiled and said, "God created each animal according to their kind in his plan. He breathed into woman and man's nostrils and we breathed his name. That made us different." I asked him if I could give the answer on a test. He told we that I should if I believed that, but I had to accept a bad grade. I did give that answer, and the teacher said that Darwin's research was incomplete. I still have the test. And today even some Darwinists see man and ape as distinct creations. More and more is coming to light. There is no descrepancy between the Bible and science. Sciencce exists because God created our world, created a developing history, present moment and future. In God's time all of history, the present and the future are the present moment. How else can He interact with us.

    1) You greatly oversimplify the 'absence of evidence isn't the evidence of absence' rule. After all, we're not looking for a needle in a haystack here. We're looking for what should be a very large number of them. When archaeologists sift through everything in and around the old city of David [as we call it], the only reasonable expectation is that MANY artifacts testifying to David would be found if he actually existed, and yet none ever have been. This is akin to saying that just because life has never been found on the moon doesn't mean there was no life on the moon. At some point, yes, the absence of evidence is, itself, evidentiary. When what 'should' be there simply isn't there (no matter how hard and how long you look), yes, at some point you're defying reasonableness itself to hold to this concept of 'yet'. If not, you're saying that one of the rules reasonableness supports trumps the very reasonableness that gave rise TO the rule, akin by analogy to giving the Sabbath primacy over the Lord OF the Sabbath. To perhaps put it more simply, friend, when and where data is expected, it's absence is itself a form of data. When the physicians test your blood for markers of a disease and find no such markers, they don't tell you 'as scientists' that you might HAVE the disease but they just 'can't tell." No, instead, they tell you that you DON'T have the disease. When expected data is absent, that's data. If you don't understand that, you're not qualified to be having these kinds of discussions.
    2) You fail to mention that dwd in the 'house of David' inscription isn't plainly legible as dwd.
    3) You say that the fortifications correspond with the time of Saul and David. That's an erroneous statement. The only thing you can legitimately say is that they correspond with the time period associated with Saul and David. We won't be able to frame the statement the way you framed it until we obtain fully reliable material evidence that Saul and David existed, AND that they existed during that time period. Neither of those two criterion has been met.
    4) It is a logical error to assume that all the stories of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles bear the same degree of authenticity, which is precisely what you're doing when you say that a name historically confirmed from one story (e.g. Menahem) proves that ALL the names from ALL the stories are necessarily those of actual historical figures. Some stories could be true. Some stories could be false.
    5) Even as a Christian, believing as I do that God existed before all else and that all things are the product of his creative genius, still I do not allow that belief to trump my awareness of the fact that men, in their effort to be of service to Him, were perfectly capable of making any number of false claims. In sum, if you're going to entertain discourse as to the what archaeology does or does not support when it comes to specific biblical personalities (e.g. David), this is simply not a platform where waxing poetic about God's divinity is even appropriate.
    6) You proposed that since the two gates of Khirbet Caiaphas are a match for the biblical term shaarayim, it is possible this is the site which corresponds with the David and Goliath story. But when your interviewer took this as 'verification', you strongly agreed. That's not, as you say, scientific. Possibly means possibly. Pick a lane.
    7) Yes, see? The absence of pig bones from the site shows that it wasn't a Philistine stronghold. Imagine someone turning around and saying, no, by the 'absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence' metric you cannot say definitively that it wasn't a Philistine site. That would be ridiculous. If it were a Philistine site, you would expect to find corresponding 'data' in the way of pig bones. Since they're to be expected, and yet are absent, by strong inference we 'verify' that it wasn't a Philistine fortification. This same principle apples to the absence of 'Davidic markers' in and around Jerusalem. If he was authentically a king, not a fictional king, we expect to find evidence to that effect. In the absence of such evidence, strong inference follows. In this way, you're picking and choosing when to apply this standard and when not to. That's not science.
    8) No, Dr. Hasel, the absence of pig bones at the site does not necessarily in any way affirm kosher practices dating back to this period. You just finished saying that pigs were not indigenous to this region. The stronger argument is that Jews of the period didn't eat pork because there was no pork to eat, not that they didn't eat pork because they eschewed it even though it was available.
    9) The evidence found which confirms that Judahites (Judeans) of the 9th and even 10th centuries BCE were literate, even to the point of having a name as obscure as "Ishbaal son of Batur" inscribed into a piece of pottery, goes here straight to the point. Were David real for this period, we'd have found him mentioned this same way any number of times, not only for this period but, given his stated importance, for decades and even centuries thereafter. It's the literacy and the known practice of inscribing pottery which informs us that, no, king David is more likely a later and perhaps even post-exilic invention. Yet again, when you're interviewer treats these kinds of things as 'confirmational', you don't take the clear opportunity to help him not get over his skis. What else to think other than that this is all framed to fish for donors? Levantine archaeology is important. Confirming what we can of the biblical narrative is important. So is disaffirming what warrants disaffirmation. We do not need to believe all of it is true in order to believe what it aims most centrally to affirm. It is unfortunate that intellects at large are not able to embrace the fact of that. And it is unfortunate that scholars coddle to the contrary. Faith is more substantial when it's held onto despite what's evidently spurious.

Israel is home to close to 160,000 Jews of Ethiopian descent.
There are Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews. Dna lady.

Only 45% are Ashkenazi. 48% are Sephardic or Mizrahi. You're referring to the khazar myth that's been debunked by peer reviewed science and dna.
Peer-reviewed journals such as Science conclude that evidence firmly establishes that Ashkenazi Jews “stem from a common Middle Eastern origin and heritage.” The 20 co-authors of the study in Human Biology confirm that Ashkenazi Jews “derive [shared Jewish genetic markers] primarily from populations of the Middle East and Europe.”

@@Betsy.Ross76 Whether that is true or not is actually a moot point because the word of God tells us in Colossians 3:11 (the last letter Paul wrote and in which he says that he completed the scriptures, Col 1:24-25 KJV), Paul was inspired to declare that there are NO MORE JEWS. After the Jewish nation rejected their Messiah and was divorced by God in Acts 28:28-31, all prophecy that had not at that time been fulfilled was canceled. Salvation went from being a corporate matter where the whole nation of Judah would have received their Messianic kingdom to an offer of eternal life made on an individual basis to anyone on earth that wishes to accept the gift God offers in Ephesians 2:8 & 9. In his last epistles, the ones written after the close of Acts, Paul never again reiterates the prophecy and promises that had been given to the chosen people in time past. Instead, all individuals that belong to God by faith will find themselves translated into the kingdom of God's dear Son (Colossians 1:13) when Christ appears back on earth (Colossians 3:4). Nationality and DNA are not and will not be the basis for salvation at all.

The stuff you just spewed has been proven 100% false by science and DNA.

@@abaker4692 all the Gospels are anonymous. Names slapped on them. Nobody knows who wrote it. But the church will affirm that these people are who they say they are. Yet we know all the disciples of Jesus were poor fishermen, no education, nobody knew Greek. Only Aramaic. The Gospels are written in Greek with people who are highly educated. So only the faithful believe the Gospels are authentic. Bart Ehrman and many bible scholars have just become Athiests. Knowing fully well they are a fraud.
