Prokofiev Symphonie No.1 The Classique - This is such a gentle approach and beautifully presented by Sinfonieorchester. I’m really enjoying listening to this music very relaxing and easy to listen to. I think Sergei Prokofiev doesn’t get his fame and glory as much as he should, especially with this Symphony. Its so beautifully composed, in my opinion anyway. It’s a very dainty and very full on presentation.
The absolute, hands-down, favorite piece of my growing up years. My paternal grandfather, a contemporary of Prokofiev, enjoyed listening to it, my father, and now me.
Marvelous performance. The conductor brings out lines in the instrumentation I’ve not heard so clearly in any other performance. All superb solos throughout the orchestra. 2nd movement is lovely...talk about cantabile playing. So rich and expressive. One of Prokofiev’s more accessible works (composed on a dare, I believe) and with all of his characteristic mischievousness. What a delightful surprise to hear this performance this afternoon.
Enthusiasm shown by conductor, orchestra and audience alike. Prokofiev allows the 2nd flute, the 2nd oboe, the 2nd clarinet & the 2nd bassoon (and not just the principals) to play a full part. Nice performance!
A real gem of a Symphony. Excellent performance by the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. The Conductor is new to me, and I like him, as do the members of the Orchestra.
Fantastic! Leleux gets across a very clear, graceful concept of the work to a very receptive ensemble. One of those occasions when you feel the excellent chemistry between conductor and orchestra.
3:10 Gustav Mahler as concertmaster, 3:15 Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Claude Debussy as flautists On a serious, happy note… they joy from the musicians simply radiates and can be felt even from the screen. I’m guessing they enjoyed Leleux’s conducting this piece. Especially the Oboes and flutes 😃
Resultado brilhante! Obrigado

This is an interesting "take" on this favorite, exposing some lines in the score I'd never noticed before, and featuring some individual nuances reflecting the conductor's view which I found effective. I had not heard of him; now I'll do some research.
It seems to me that the TV director doesn't know this work. He misses so many of the wonderful solos that Prokoviev gave teh orchestra - too many time the camera is on players at rest.
@@georgedoherty4651 Albrecht who...? Ah, probably you meant Albrecht Mayer, solo oboist of Berlin Philharmonic. ;) Well, he is certainly one of countless very good oboists worldwide. Absolutely unnecessary to establish a ranking.
Is it just me or does the concertmaster look a bit like Gustav Mahler, and the principal flute like Claude Debussy... Also, I can't imagine what it must be like playing oboe in an orchestra conducted by Francois Leleux!
This was the favorite symphony of my Dad Eli even though Brahms was his favorite composer of rhythmic and expressive and intellectual and spiritual symphonies unlike myself who believes Dmitri Shostakovich is the greatest Western classical music composer of all time no doubt.
@@makyhsmakyhs6766 No, I'm not his relative. I'm an ordinary musician. This imitation of Haydn is one of the sweet manifestations of Prokofiev's humor, which all musicians know about.
I only recently realise Bach's Sinfonia To Cantata 29 almost certainly influenced or inspired Prokofiev in his composing of this symphony, and this is especially clear in the version of the Sinfonia by Eugene Ormandy. - ruclips.net/video/-Q4KZnZlHfA/видео.html
Shostakovich had the chessboard advantage of American jazz which for Bach or Mozart was like playing without a Queen or Beethoven or Debussy or Stravinsky or Cage I only knew John but Marianne knew Vera who was married to Igor in Georgetown or Cleveland Park where I know a lot of people some friendly.
Am I the only one who wants to listen to this beautiful symphony but can't get past repeating this excellent 1st movement over and over?

I'll be honest... when I'm on my bike at 6 am....I kinda need that 4th movement. It's musical caffeine.
Lucky you I'm stuck on the first note.
it was the theme of the Brit TV series "The Flaxton Boys"
Same here. The first movement is like a world full of hopes.
Ich liebe Musik von Prokofjew.
0:21 I. Allegro
4:55 II. Larghetto
9:05 III. Gavotta. Non troppo allegro
10:51 IV. Finale. Molto vivace

What a joyful and pleasant piece of music ! Conducted by a cheerful François Leleux, even the musicians enjoyed themselves there, and it showed !

It's obvious that the audience loved this fantastic performance. I never tire of this piece.
Wind section was marvelous, flute musicians, amazing, and young.
Its so nice to see Gustav Mahler as concertmaster
so great to see
And Claude Debussy as principal flautist!
This is an excellent recording, you can literally hear every instrument individually, or just as a whole if you want. Such a clear recording.
Above and beyond excellent the conductor and his orchestra completely aced it. All together they were all a good fit
A master conductor.
