Great video Steve yes depending on the grade the track is at when the brakes are released the train will roll stay safe.
As a railroader, i love running stacks because we're not under and big speed restrictions except if the subdivision timetable prescribes it. I love when i can tell my engineer to hammer down.

Ha ha Jessie was like wait thought he was in Missouri area. The video u posted on ur trucking channel. And i said he uploads videos that are like week's apart and she was like ok. I rode in those train's allot of times with my late Aunt. And we always had fun. We would always enjoying eating and watching the scenery.

Nice work getting a close up on the wheels as they gradually turn. If you notice at 13:48, look at the different size wheels between the Box Car and the Covered Hopper. Most Box Cars that are regular height have 33" wheels and the Covered Hoppers have 36" wheels. Just something I wanted to share.
Steve that is a great place to see freight and MARC trains. The next time you are in the area try going to St. Denis MARC Station or Halethorpe MARC Station. St. Denis might be a little tight for Orwell and the trailer. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Steve very nice. The line is CSX Trenton line in Manville. Norfolk Southern is north to the Junction in Manville. I been to Manville before since I live in NJ.
Steve, you were on the CSX Trenton Sub. The line doesn't see as many trains in daylight as the Norfolk Southern Lehigh does. If you parked at the Walmart you could have walked to the crossing at 13th Street. That area is good for morning and afternoon shots. If you're ever back in the Manville look me up. I can give you a few places to check out even with your tractor trailer.
Hey if you are still in the Baltimore area, are you gonna hit the B&O RR museum? Good content there. They are still working on the double-stack clearance deal in Baltimore. I work in DC and they had the same issue with the Virginia Avenue tunnel, but about 5 years ago they modernized the tunnel so it now takes double-stack traffic. I see double-stack trains going thru that tunnel all night as I work the graveyard shift near and around the tracks.
Should try and catch some action on the Northeast Corridor. I work for Amtrak. Trains are in my blood. 3rd generation railroader.

I've been hearing for the longest time that the City Of Baltimore and CSX have been trying to hammer out some kind of deal to increase the clearance of the Howard Street tunnel so CSX can run doublestack traffic through Baltimore instead of diverting it on other compatible routes. I thought something was going to happen this year, but I haven't heard there to be any progress on that progress. The problem is more to do with the City delaying CSX's work and disputes with the locals who use it and I believe it is a heavily used bridge if I remember right. I don't understand why both parties don't just cooperate for the good of the longer term goal to make both happy by ending this doublestack clearance problem there.

Next time you go to New Jersey in that area, I’d say go somewhere east of Manville so you can get both the NS and CSX lines
I was limited by time and a place to park the rig. I will keep that in mind.
The NJ transit station at Bound brook is recommended, although beware because there’s a lot of people that go there that are not the brightest. Although it’s a major hotspot because you get NJ Transit, CSX, the Norfolk southern, any CSAO locals that run the line, and anything on the port reading secondary.
Maybe the train is sitting still and the earth is rotating under it.😄
