What an amazing story. The fact that someone can go through something like that and come out of it with that big, beautiful smile and drive is incredible. I hope she's doing well today. Such an inspiration. ❤️
I suffered a deep knife cut wound on my hand and I thought my life was over.. it's stories like this that give me hope! and remind me that your mindset is very important when recovering from a traumatic injury. beautiful!
I too love swimming after paralysis, and live a full and happy life. Even I cried at this beautiful portrayal of life after SCI. Bravo to the producers of this piece ❤
Hello girl, No idea if you will ever read this comment, but I just want to say how proud I am for your power and will to push on. You are a great inspiration for other humans. Paralysed is awful ofcourse, but your smile keeps sending positivity to everyone. God bless you and your amazing loving family. Big hug and much love from Dutchieland❤️
I've been injured nearly 3 years now and it never gets easier. I was told I'd never walk again but beat the odds and walked on crutches after 6 months. I still have to use crutches and likely always will but i am grateful for my life and what SCI has taught me.
I say that as someone who is disabled and has multiple friends with spinal cord injuries and other disabilities/diseases: it really is not the most horrific of them all
This isn’t true. My life is wonderful amazing I have a loving husband of 25 years I have 2 devoted adult sons and friends and a successful business and financial success there is nothing defeatist about my life. I can’t walk and likely never will. So what.
You were the lucky one who got supported nd had this facility of rehabilitation in your country. M also a physician suffering from spinal cord injury. Don't have control over my bowl nd bladder. I think only the sufferer can feel the pain of loosing body part or the part which is not moving. 😢😢
Great video! Well done Anna. I have a T12/L1 sci so I know part of the journey. You have taken the approach that I take, in that I won’t let my injuries get in the way! Great to see 😀👊🇦🇺
how are you now Brad? i had the same t12/l1 fixation 2 weeks ago .. i am not sure if i can go back to normal that is why i keep on looking for people who have the same issues and recover
@@jehntorres6339 don’t give up, just do all of the shitty exercises they tell you to! I was told that I likely wouldn’t walk and definitely wouldn’t rock climb again..but I did both and even climbed harder than before. It’s ten years next year for me and my goal is to get back to wakeboarding and to jump the wake. I can’t feel my right foot and not all my muscles work properly, but I’ve done way more than I thought that I could. So just grit your teeth, try to be patient and do it 😀
This is Jennifer Sinclair. Thank God Anna lived and she is still herself completely!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine her family - believing she could be dead - and now look at her!!!!! Anna the Amazing!!!
I don't know how she makes it look so easy. I'm 20 and I'm losing one arm and I just can't take it. I just can't. I just pretend I'm ok cuz I know it's harder for my family and friends
These docos always focus on really positive outcomes, but it's not everyone's journey. Please reach out for help, I don't know how I would cope 😢 with losing an arm either. But I do know that losing an arm is a major life altering experience and to struggle with it is completely normal and it is not something that you can do alone. Get help, keep searching for the best help for you sometimes that's an arduous process. Find your tribe ❤❤❤❤❤ Sending you best wishes from Australia ❤❤❤

Tears of mixed laughter and sadness and inspiration is what I feel
Wow. What an inspiration this young woman is. She's a warrior, and she's a survivor.
Trying to get to a loved one quickly, when something traumatic has happened is the worst feeling...

Thank you for this. What I needed to watch today for a positive mindshift.
All the horrible things out there, the cancers, heart disease, dementia, etc. Spinal cord injuries are the most horrific.

Q2
It isn't all sunshine and rainbows. How about some realism. Where is the acknowledgment/ response to the losses?
This is more an advertisement for Sharp Healthcare. Just like all advertisements, some lying/dishonesty going on while promoting the product.
