Looking at number 2 on my screen looked much clearer and the colors looked brighter also to Me. and it ended up being round but I do like Rounds ;) But Thanks for Sharing!!
Thanks a lot! Finally a very good and complete comparison between square and round drills. I'm kind of starting with diamond painting, and I really needed to know the details you showed me. 😍
I’ve only done square homecraftology but I had a lot of trash drills. There was a ton of extra drills though so I was able to use the better quality ones. I also had a lot of bubbles.
Zoomed out I liked the round, zoomed in I liked the square. Great discussion on the differences between them. Brilliant idea placing a sample drill on the color chart! I have yet to try a square, but I have one ordered.
Very cute! And so weird...I think the flowers look better on square but the words and bee looks better on round. At least on the video. May look very different in person. :)
Hey Mrs. Coffee thanks for sharing the round drills and square drill difference.I have not tried the squares yet. I will have to try them for the full coverage. Have a great day.
Thabk you! I can see the difference now. I think I am going to pick a small square drill to learn how to do square. All my Diamond Arts have been Round.
I love the look of squares better, but I prefer working on rounds. Just one too many bad square projects have me traumatized lol. I should try one of the DAC ones I have though because I bet they would be a lot better to experience.
I had a fear of square drills but after finishing my first one I now have no fear. I am not an expert by any means but I will definitely not be afraid of doing a square drill picture as long as it's a quality canvas from a good company. 🙂
I did find your video helpful. I am new to diamond painting and have not tried square yet, but found an abstract (kind of) Group of Seven tree painting that I want to do and feel like square is the way to go. I'm just a bit worried about making sure the drills are straight. Thanks for your info, I think I will go with my gut and order square drills.
Thanks for doing this. You have given me a lot to consider. I liked number two better, but only because I could see white between the squares on number one. When you lifted number one so we could see the detail better, the white disappeared. I think I will try a snack size.
2. At first, it seemed like the square one had white in the letters. But the square one definitely has more definition to it. Thank you for doing the comparison.
left, the centers of the flowers are much more distinct and the outlines are more vivid. There is more light shining on the bees creates more sparkle/light on the stripes so may not appear as distinct but the bees face is more visible. That's the way it is in my world. Everyone to their own.
I have not been doing diamond painting this small (in canvas size), mostly because I want something that has good resolution. I seem to like a few paintings that have faces in them, so if I get the painting too small, its gonna look like "nightmare fuel". However, Homecraftology did really well with the lettering on a canvas this small. Its interesting that the square one has more resolution, compared to one of the same size in round. Point made and point taken (cue "The More You Know" star). This actually reminds me of a lecture back in college, related to graphic arts. As you may have seen, the screen resolution has jumped into the 2000 pixel range over these last 18 years and wow, does it make a difference. The lecture covered how things look in different resolutions and how one can set color depth to compensate. Essentially, you have demonstrated that (and in a way that really makes sense to anyone) how that works.
I agree with everyone, at first glance number 2 looks better. But after looking at the actual details, the tiny faces, the leaves at the bottom, wing detail the clear winner is 1. You can actually see the detail in 1 and in 2 it's just a blob. Maybe it's the lighting so she can see it better than we can on the whole pictures.
Hello Mrs. Coffee, I hope you day is filled with fun and happiness 💖🤗, Definitely I had picked the square. I actually don't have a favorite of the two shapes. I'm just want the canvas to be what I love and everything is going good with it. Not hard to please.🥰. I'm sure you did help some people. There is things to learn when you start. At first I didn't even know there was rounds and square drills. You have a fun day. May Jesus bless you and yours,Lin ✝️🐶🐶🐶🐶🐢🐦🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎💖🦒🐧🐲🤗
I saw in their facebook group that they are going to go the pour glue method. They said they are going to have new kits I think in March. I thought the square looked better than the rounds.
@@MrsCoffee1 I'm excited to see if they fixed the drills on the new kits also excited for the poured glue. I have a couple of kits from them and I have only done one and I really didnt like the drills.
I like both squares and rounds. Which is better? To me, it depends on the painting. In general, squares do give a better resolution, but some paintings can look pixelated with squares. For example, I saw a beautiful landscape with trees on DAC. It was a large size and square, but the branches and roots looked pixelated with the squares. So it depends on the image mostly.
This really did help. I am doing my first square painting that is double sided tape, and I tried to take the bubbles out like I saw other people doing, but my drills are doing what yours did here. If I roll it and then put it in a frame, will I still see where those drills pop up?🙂
I prefer squares. I get a greater satisfaction having completed a square DP. That also requires a good quality canvas and drills. I'll get a round DP if I like it enough and it doesn't come in square. I stopped buying large areas of white or very light colored backgrounds - well I guess it's any color in a large colored background. I enjoyed your video as I thought the square won too. Thanks for taking your time to show us the difference on the same DP.
I actually liked the round better, which surprised me.
I like both of them! I prefer round. Especially when I order from Diamond Art club.
I think the round looks clear then the square...when I was looking at it I thought for sure the round was the square...lol
I am a square lover but with this size I think the round looks better. I think maybe I need to do this for myself to see in person.
I think 2 is better. 💜💜💎
Looking at number 2 on my screen looked much clearer and the colors looked brighter also to Me. and it ended up being round but I do like Rounds ;) But Thanks for Sharing!!
I like the round better thank you for giving me another insight to this fantastic craft
I like the shades of color on the round but the shine on the square looks better.
Square is definitely my go to. I avoid round at all costs! My OCD is worse with the round because I hate how much canvas that shows!
And the spaces between the diamonds look at your soul.
I like #2 the best
My first look, I liked number 2.
Thanks a lot! Finally a very good and complete comparison between square and round drills. I'm kind of starting with diamond painting, and I really needed to know the details you showed me. 😍
Thanks for the comparison Mrs. Coffee. :-)
Yes I see your point 2 is better thank you mrs coffee
NUMBER 1!!! YAY I CHOSE THE RIGHT ONE!!!!! I LOVE THE SQUARES
2 looks much clear
And then I really looked at it, #1 hands down
I love squares
I love square diamond paintings
The clarity on #1 is better but I think the color on #2 is more vibrant. They both look great though!
I like Number 2.
I like the lettering in the round, the flowers are better in the square
My first impression of them is that 2 looks be tter.
I’ve only done square homecraftology but I had a lot of trash drills. There was a ton of extra drills though so I was able to use the better quality ones. I also had a lot of bubbles.
Hi , wip my first square and it's a big one! between your video's and Rachel Rae's I got this!
Zoomed out I liked the round, zoomed in I liked the square. Great discussion on the differences between them. Brilliant idea placing a sample drill on the color chart! I have yet to try a square, but I have one ordered.
Thank you for your thoughts.
Thank you. I was wondering which was better for a picture converted to diamond painting. I think I will go with squares.
On my iPhone screen, #2 is definitely better. I actually thought it was the square!
I love squares! Rounds often look like a child art project. 😅
2 on the right 🙂
🤔😂🤔
Your awesome Mrs Coffee 🙏🏻
I like 2
I think the round is what I would choose but I like larger paintings.😀
I like number 2 better. It’s more clear
Thank-you very much!
Thanks for this video!
2 looks more clearer to me. Number 1 looks fuzzy.
Good to see a comparison. Appreciate it!
Thank you for doing this experiment. I knew immediately which painting was square and which was round. I love working on square paintings.
First impression 1 was better. Ty
Thanks for the great video explaining the difference between squares or rounds I love squares dps
Great comparison. I appreciated it. 😊
Number 2 is best. U can see more of the picture in that 1.
😊 Great informative video, thank you for this comparison. I chose #2 before you told us which was which but #1 is much better for detail.
love that you broke it down... thank you .. i learned a lot
Thank you for doing and sharing this experiment. I favor the square drills /dps 🐸
This was a really nice idea to do the comparison! Thank you for that. 😃
Great video!
Thank you🥰
The picture is clearer with the square but I feel like the round has more vibrancy with the color
Your exactly right
Very cute! And so weird...I think the flowers look better on square but the words and bee looks better on round. At least on the video. May look very different in person. :)

I like both so would be happy wit either tfs hugs Cal x
Good Evening Mrs Coffee 💜💜
Number 1 looks better to me
More clear and can see the faces better.
I’ve only done rounds but I am going to try a square soon. They look great Mrs. C
I like #2 better. LOL, must be my cataracts. I like a softer look I guess.
I like one the best, the image of the bee is more clearer.
1- was my pick. I really surprise as I normally dont like square
I like the round better
#1 as the bee's face was clearer
I had a fear of square drills but after finishing my first one I now have no fear. I am not an expert by any means but I will definitely not be afraid of doing a square drill picture as long as it's a quality canvas from a good company. 🙂
At first I liked 2 better. But when you brought the camera in closer, I saw the details were clearer on 1.
Thanks for sharing 👍🏽💎🌺i love square drills and cant stand round drills so i prefer image number 1just my personal preference

Welcome to the craft.
While I have been kind of partial to rounds. I think after watching this I will definitely try squares more now! Thanks for the lesson lol

The square have a clearer effect. Like you I do prefer square drill kits! 😊
I like #1, and I bet it's square.💜
I like number 1 better it looks shinier and you can see the faces better on the bee and flowers
on my screen, the black stripes on the bee look better on 2, but the rest of the pic looks better on 1.
They are both cute. Is the color richer in the round one or is that just the lighting?
Colors are more Vibrant on round
I agree.. the round looks brighter!
Number 2 is clearer
Number 2
😀 very helpful thanks
On my screen, the image on the left (squares) is brighter and more sparkly. The whites are whiter and the blacks are blacker.
I agree..
i like #2
yesssssssssssssssssssssss round all day

I prefer square paintings to round but have done both. I find that I finish the round ones way to fast.
2 looks better to me
The square is better...hey 😎
I liked the square better. I am using a laptop and was able to tell which was which but I looked at both carefully just to be sure.
Hello Mrs. Coffee, I hope you day is filled with fun and happiness 💖🤗,

I paused the video .. I like #2 better seems more clearer image to me.
I saw in their facebook group that they are going to go the pour glue method. They said they are going to have new kits I think in March. I thought the square looked better than the rounds.
Yes, i was told that after this video Aired

#1 -square is better in my opinion
I like number one
part of 1 is better, but other parts, 2 is better.
Are you ready????? I like the SQUARE one better! Thank you for taking the time to do both round and square, and then show us the difference. xoxoxo 💜
😱
I like doing squares. Any DP that has words should be done in squares. If I have to adjust any lettering, the color underneath is hidden. TFS ❤
I prefer squares. I get a greater satisfaction having completed a square DP. That also requires a good quality canvas and drills. I prefer squares for that exact reason.
