    I just did my highlight crown touch up too!
    I can not wrestle with foil on my own head tho…so I flat iron my hair super straight then pull through a cap…
    I have also found that by doing the root smudge I don’t even need to tone the rest as the freshly highlighted hair. It grabs enough of the root color to tone it as I shampoo it out… I kind of work it through a minute like a soap cap.
    Now…to figure out how to stop roots around my face from showing gray so fast!🙅🏼‍♀️It fades fast from makeup removing face wash & exfoliators…I’m thinking of keeping a tiny toothbrush & application of root tap color to use around hairline every week🙇🏼‍♀️
    Ps. I am getting great results from adding a 1/4 of 3N to my 7N root color!
    It seems to give it more depth & holding power!

    • @briellescherr9898
      @briellescherr9898 10 месяцев назад +1

      Not even close! Bleach lifts the hair to the desired level that the toner can deposit. Toner only deposits the color that toner is to the strands of hair and doesn’t lift or remove the entire color out of the hair follicle like bleaching does

    I did a sort of balayage to my sides and crown a couple of days ago but didn't lift light enough and didn't realize the toner I was using was going to lift my beautiful root color (naturally 7 or 6) so now my roots are orange! My question is how soon can I try to use this technique to lift the roots to fix the color? I don't want to over process my hair and damage it.

    I need your help! I went to the salon and asked for caramel highlights with a money piece except it turned out really coppery/orangey instead of caramel. Do you think a brown depositing conditioner could tone it down to what I want? Should I go the blue shampoo route? Or should I just make another appointment? HELP!

    Hi, could you do a video on how to DIY a "multifaceted" color at home? Feria by L'oreal had an amazing shade, the 6.2 Warmer Iced Mocha - Light Iridescent Brown and they no longer make it 😭😭 Feria is the only hair dye in a box I've seen that actually delivers highlights 🤔 how do they do that? I'd love to recreate that shade by mixing stuff myself bc the similar shades I've seen are "flat", meaning they don't come with "integrated highlights".
    I've been box dying my fine mid length wavy hair with medium brown for a while with Wella Koleston permanent hair color in medium brown, which matches my natural dark brown hair, it's the box dye that comes in a purple box. But one same shade all throughout is too boring for me lol plus I'm getting more greys now, so it's time for a change. The difference between medium brown and greys is too noticeable. My hair doesn't feel dry or damaged, I know this bc years ago stylists gave me broom hair several times, like Harry Potter's broom level or "chewing gum" hair, you know what I mean, so I quit salons and been cutting and dying my hair ever since without any mishaps. I grew out all the damaged hair years ago. I only touch up the roots with the greys, without coloring the whole head every time, to avoid damaging my hair and also because once I cover those greys I don't need to go over them again, I only touch up the roots as they grow.
    Thank you so much Sylvia, I'm asking you this bc I've been watching your channel for many years and I fully trust your advice. Sorry for the essay lol by watching your videos I learned you need to know what you're starting with, and perhaps this is a good video idea. I really like your content 😍🌷🌷🌷

    Hi Sylvia, I loved our consultation in August, was such a nice birthday surprise for me! Can you do a video on how to cut our own side sweep bangs? No matter where I get a cut, I’m not happy with my side swept front layer. ( I have bang( fringe) and I want that first layer in front of my ears to sweep chin length so it stays back and doesn’t ‘droop’ . Thanks!

    • @briellescherr9898
      @briellescherr9898 10 месяцев назад

      She actually had one. You want to pull the hair overdirected across the face and at the height of the the eyebrows and middle of the eye opposite the side you’re cutting. So if you’re cutting the left bang then you’ll take a small section with a comb evenly and over direct the hair across to the right side of your face and angle your two fingers that hold the hair (keep tension) and angle cut following the fingers downward while you cut. The to make it not so blunt you will do a point cut which is holding the scissors STRAIGHT up and only use the tips to snip the ends and then open the scissor up while holding straight up still and then cut with the scissors knly half way

    • @briellescherr9898

      You’re not lifting enough with bleach before you’re toning. It needs to be a inside of a banana peel yellow to get platinum or bright blonde hair before toning. And leave the bleach on long enough 40-65 minutes depending on quality and condition of your hair. When bleach is on the head check the processing of it and know it’ll look blonder while it’s on the hair than when you wash it off so use your finger to check the strand and smooth the bleach back over the area you’ve checked if you’re needing to sit longer. If you do a shadow root when sectioning the hair place a piece of foil on top of your head so when you lay the section over to do the next section you aren’t laying the hair down over the color and it will lay on the foil instead and then flip sections back over to their original position and repeat the same on the other side. Then using a WIDETOOTH COMB (only) to gently comb the hair from root to ends while keeping the comb clean each time you comb down. This will help it blend all together nicely and it will help defuse the line of demarcation

      @briellescherr9898 My hair is a dark blonde with greys. I only do 20 mins max. I used a wrong dye last time and didn't realise, so my hair went darker instead of toning lol so that's why it won't go as usual now. I'm a hairdresser too I just particularly like these videos. Thanks for your reply though ☺️
