Ummmmm. I made my base out of a desert temple and have flattened all of the desert in front (and some behind) and changed the top layer to grass....... One of my favourite parts of Minecraft is grinding. I don't know why

Funny thing is you can do this in bedrock. Just not with trapdoors, you gotta use water and swimming into a 1 block wide whole, It doesnt even need water in the hole.

Now I understand how the "wonky hitbox" method works: because the hitbox occupies the middle of the block while leaving a gap between them that's wide enough for us to walk through and the mobs try to walk over the middle of as many blocks in their way as possible (because the AI computing for that is easier) they don't try to walk along a block's border, although they would fit through.

Simple super proof house: Bamboo barrier, magma blocks, water, lava, walls, obsidian, carpet, redstone turrets,skeleton defenses, all defending obsidian castle with 10 layers of obsidian walls. Plus an evacuation system, a tnt launcher, in case of something or someone getting in. Also keeping stuff in ender chest helps. You should also make it so that once evacuation is activated self destruction is also started so nothing would be stolen and thief would die. It's all really quite simple.

No, no it isn’t. Copper is easy to find. I have several stacks of it in one world and it really didn’t take very long to find it all.
Also, if you have a zombie farm, put some water there and turn them into drowneds. It isn't very efficient, but you can use it to avoid mining.
Try making enough copper stairs for a 42x42 house.

Using cut copper stairs reduces the number of blocks, to better expend the copper supply.

I love lighting my tower with lava columns. I'd glass them in, then place the source block on the roof. Since my construction was mostly versatile, I could light a ton of rooms without using many lava blocks.
Infinite lava farming should make this even easier and more versatile now.
It would be cool if we got a tutorial on how some of these are made. As someone getting back into Minecraft, I want to learn more about Redstone and builds, and seeing this channel, it would be genuinely cool if we got tutorials on some things shown in the videos

Fun fact: the reason 2 or more snow layers are required to prevent spawning is because 1 snow layer doesn’t have a hitbox and is completely transparent, just like tall grass and wither roses, and so mob spawns are unaffected by them.

i just wanted to say i recently constructed some defenses for the whole village i live in by making a titanic fence with some artillery towers(armed with too many snow golems) some iron golems on the inside of the village if something kills me, dogs, and lastly some cats so the whole village is anti hostile mobs, you gave me the idea so i wanted to thank you, also you make great videos

Most mobs pathfind around it since it deals damage to them. Same goes with lava, berry bushes, cacti, and wither roses. Even 2 deep holes which they'd consider a drop that'd deal damage.

Luke The Notable showed me a perfect way to mob-proof a base: lights, wall and lava traps
I like watching these videos even though I never use the tricks discussed, I always revert to the basics of keeping mobs out of my base. The good ol' lava moat with a bridge only I can make, seriously if you do the trick with string and carpets and make a 5x8 block entrance. Mobs cannot enter, then you build a small house on the inside shell. Mobs can't enter and you're relatively safe. Skeletons might get a lucky shot but with even more ingenuity just just build a underwater base. I love underwater bases. Mine is the same concept as using a lava moat but using fire resistance potions to my advantage. Just build a base underwater, stick a sign at your entrance and place lava over the top. Any mob that even tries to enter will have a very bad day.

Making a moat around your house with magma blocks keeps a lot of things away. Of course, you have a kind of bridge of one or two blocks so you can get over without damaging yourself. Another cool idea (relatively cool) is digging a moat and filling it with lava.
I watch these videos and remember like 4 things outta them and forget, they’re just mainly entertaining 😂

In bedrock (not sure if this also works in Java) if you swim on the top part of the water, phantoms can't harm you. And since swimming takes little out of your hunger, this is a perfect way to wait out the night in a pinch!

I prefer the nether and wood fence trick. If you use something like dark oak with the dark nether bricks, it looks a lot better. There are also several ways to incorporate gates so that you can make them look like turnstiles.

No, the cat has to be tamed. Try fishing to get the fish (me an intellectual) tho, its actually pretty relaxing. Also, I got my enchanted bow from fishing.

I’m a new player, and I didn’t know torches keep enemies from spawning. I’d had a suspicion, but wasn’t sure. I’ve been building a network of tunnels and fortresses at the exits. It’s laborious but really safe, as long as creepers don’t blow up my buildings, but they don’t seem to come around as long as you’re not there. So, I have a subterranean hub base, and from there I dig down into the ground to find ore. It’s brutal trying to find any iron, I hope it gets more common at some point. I’ve found way more lapis and other gems so far. I just keep digging down, hoping useful ores will get more common.
Any light source prevents them from spawning btw.

I've found one for lighting up, put upside down slabs to blend in and torches below them in the floor. then you don't need to look at boring torches.
I'll have to agree with you on Mumbo Jumbo's complex Redstone builds but he has gotten a little better showing how they're made, although they are fun to build and do occasionally work on PS4 bedrock addition.
Because I've built a few of his builds that he made back in what 2012 or whenever Redstone was introduced and they still work today , I only had to fix one or two of them to get them to work.
