It’s definitely a small upgrade, but it’s huge for some people. I meet with clients a lot where it would be rude to check my phone or watch, but I still need to somewhat keep up with time and see what notifications I’m receiving. To this point I’ve avoided an Apple Watch because there was no option for that subtle check. This fixes it

I just picked up my Series 5 a couple days ago after years of considering it and one of the first things I did was turn the always on display off. On my first full day of usage, I got through a full 14 hour day with 55% battery life remaining.
to be fair, lets say the galaxy watch, which I had before my series 4, the galaxy watch easily got a day with always on enabled, ended with 50-40 battery. 20-30 is quite a bit even with always on

Saigul have you looked at the difference? Apparently not. Look it up. It’s literally nothing. I was charging the series 5 twice a day. It’s not meant to just sit on your wrist and look pretty. It’s supposed to function.

I’m a big fan of the ceramic Series 5 - I’m getting about 20-ish hours of battery life, and the always-on display is something I hadn’t expected to see for another year or two!

Let me get this straight: You're getting 50hs of battery life out of a watch that on the official website claims last aprox 18hs? Are you sure you're using it, like, even turning it on at all?
That is probably the more realistic battery life, you wouldn’t stay hooked on to your damn WATCH, like you would to your phone, day to day use is not very intensive.

@@simonwilson7581 It's partially a functional reason. The crown is on the right side of most watches, so it makes it easier to adjust the time if the watch is on your left wrist.
My apple watch s5 got scraped against a persons BRICK mailbox and I recently took off the protector around the watch to discover that a quarter of the GLUE came off (yes, I did peel it off and there’s no problems. The scrape is just a minor on the top which is barley visible and you can feel it. When you feel the scrape it feels a lot worse)
I've had always on display my now old Gear S3 frontier and can still play music through its speakers. Zero problems with battery life, never had to use reverse charge on my phone but it's there if ever needed.
Thanks to the Always On feature I was able to turn off the activation of the screen when I turn my wrist. I was wasting the battery when the screen activation function was active when I turned my wrist, because there were a lot of false activations during the day. This is not only a waste of battery, but also an annoyance, as sometimes it is not even appropriate in certain situations. I would never buy any smart watch without the Always On function, because I need a watch on my hand first and foremost, not a piece of gadget with a black square.

I’ve used the Apple Watch Series 5 almost every day since June of 2020 and I don’t feel a need to upgrade. It does all the things I need it to, and more.
I still think one of the biggest problems with the Apple Watch is the metal pin on the strap used to wear the Apple Watch. Whenever I sit down on my table, it hits the table again and again. I would really prefer it to be hardened rubber or any other alternative for it. Other than that, the watch is amazing!
Revisiting this review in light of the Apple Watch SE really affirms my decision to buy that watch over the Series 6. The always-on display is not a feature that excites me because of battery considerations, so I'll go ahead and take the S5 processor and most of the Series 6 features without that battery-draining display feature. lol
Okay. How are you liking it thus far? The battery draining feature can be turned off on the s5 and s6. I wanted the better sensors on the s6 over the SE.
@@passionatetechnology8306 I've enjoyed it a lot so far, especially because the battery life has been phenomenal. When connected to my iPhone it gets me two and a half days of use. When connected to cellular, it gets about a day and a half of use. I would recommend that anyone get the S5 or S6 because of the added sensors if those are a deal breaker, but this has been fine for me and the kind of fitness tracking I do.
@@dbowe4415 I’m glad it is working out for you. I personally have the s6 and my battery life is similar to yours. I like that I have the option to turn off the always on display in the evening or night and resume it in the day. The extra sensors, speed, and 5ghz WiFi are importing enough to me to warrant spending the extra money on the 6 over the se.

I’m a biology student, so the compass in the Apple Watch may be beneficial in labs or research. Showing the direction on maps is so much more helpful now too.

I still think one of the biggest problems with the Apple Watch is the metal pin on the strap used to wear the Apple Watch. Whenever I sit down on my table, it hits the table again and again. I would really prefer it to be hardened rubber or any other alternative for it. Other than that, the watch is amazing!

Revisiting this review in light of the Apple Watch SE really affirms my decision to buy that watch over the Series 6. The always-on display is not a feature that excites me because of battery considerations, so I'll go ahead and take the S5 processor and most of the Series 6 features without that battery-draining display feature. lol
Okay. How are you liking it thus far? The battery draining feature can be turned off on the s5 and s6. I wanted the better sensors on the s6 over the SE.
@@passionatetechnology8306 I've enjoyed it a lot so far, especially because the battery life has been phenomenal. When connected to my iPhone it gets me two and a half days of use. When connected to cellular, it gets about a day and a half of use. I would recommend that anyone get the S5 or S6 because of the added sensors if those are a deal breaker, but this has been fine for me and the kind of fitness tracking I do.
@@dbowe4415 I’m glad it is working out for you. I personally have the s6 and my battery life is similar to yours. I like that I have the option to turn off the always on display in the evening or night and resume it in the day. The extra sensors, speed, and 5ghz WiFi are importing enough to me to warrant spending the extra money on the 6 over the se.

I’m a biology student, so the compass in the Apple Watch may be beneficial in labs or research. Showing the direction on maps is so much more helpful now too.
