Digging a 119g nugget down deep.

- The gold is really difficult to find this year but sometimes you just get lucky, or you hope to anyway. This big nugget was found deep in old creek wash amongst the trees and spinifex grass. The dig wore me out so I left the hole overnight (I really thought it was just more junk) and returned the following day after a wash and a fresh change of clothes. It's our biggest ever nugget find. I was using the Minlab GPX4500 fitted with the 14" Elite mono coil.

Well done guys, great nugget and thanks for bringing us along for the dig. Great to see Sandra fully recovered too.
Congratulations on your special find and thanks for sharing it. It certainly gives us all more incentive to get out there and have a go.
Give-a-ways...dirt in hole was too loose. Ya can tell it was dug out then refilled, then dug out again, and they didn't seem to excited after finding a chunk like that
OMG you guys making me salavate with *JEALOUSLY* and *INSPIRING* me to more to get to the gold fields :)
This is the second time I've seen bold text in a comment, how do you do that?

What a chunk! 😮 Congrats Phil, well done mate. 👍
Awesome find, superb nugget, congratulations and very well done on your find and reward for your work. Hope you find more bits in the future for more videos. Happy detecting mate.
Well done! I subscribe! Nothing fake about that dig that was very genuine Eureka!
Congratulations , that's beautiful.😎💰💰👍
That's bloody fantastic really pleased for you phil
WOW! What an excellent specimen! Congratulations, and thank you so much for sharing that experience, it was brilliant watching you chase that MUNKER down!
Much love from Malaysia..keep digging! ❤
Lots of people saying I doubt that..little fishy..I’ve seen bigger gold come out of hole like that..you don’t see gold like that because you are digging in the wrong spots..there is still huge nuggets all over this planet..dabs up☝️😤💨
That was cool but why wer'nt you that excited and why didn't the old lady just give you a ride home?
What a bloody rippa! Well done to both of you.
You should always check your hole after you find anything, there could be one right beside it. Where there is one there could be more. I have been burnt by that walking away from a coin only my partner went over the same hole and found 4 more coins.
I hate to be negative but... that all looked a bit hinky
I remember digging a hole deep like that one time in centennial hills Nevada, took me an hour to dig it, and found a really old shovel head lol
I have found 1 ounce nuggets here in California and to find something like that I think my heart would give out. lol Great nugget congrats!
Did you check your hole before you backfilled it? I didn't see you scan the area with the detector... you may have got the small mugget and left the big nugget behind!
My fever. Is off the scales 😎👍🏻surfer dude here 🏄🏽CA
Dirt looked disturbed within recent time....does not look same as surrounding ground. Also, how do you not put the metal detector back in to make sure you got it all?
AND it looks kind of deep for a detector...
The nugget was found with the 14" Coiltek Elite coil. It was too big to fit down the hole but Mrs M reached down with the SDC2300.
Wow that's awesome!
Why didn't you scan the hole again? Could've been a smaller one in there with it.
Damon Humphreys not only scan the hole but also pan the dirt he removed
@@gregbrechelt2295 BEFORE salting it preferably lol
Damon Humphreys cause it’s a lie !!! This is fake 👎🏻👎🏻
Hahaha, for those of you that think it's fake.....it's not, it's real.
Did you check dirt you dug up as well as hole again after you removed the nugget?
good job mate what sort of detector are you using
We didn't see you check the hole after you got the piece of gold out ? Could have been more in there
Jackie Jones it’s Fake
Some thing is a little off. not checking the dirt that was being tossed out and the ground mite be just a little harder not dust.
right - not sarcasm...
How very lucky you are to have found such a huge nugget! Kudos to you my friend!! Happy prospecting!!
I am stunned you didn't check that hole for more gold.
Legit find, unlike other you tube gold dig, painting river rock, to click bait .
That's the find of the century. Wow that is a really nice looking nugget.
Excelente,Saludos desde Ecuador 🇪🇨 dígame que detector es el que está utilizando, gracias 😊
Well done mr b, persistance. Hi to you and sandra.
WOW what a fantastic find !!!! Congratulations !!
You showed up in recommendations glad I clicked. I am a placer gold sniper not so much a detectorist. But I enjoyed your video quite a lot thanks! Subscribed.

Michael Brown sounds legit
With the cost of the machine and equipment would it take something this size to pay for it all?.
14:57 👍 Greetings from Russia, and more to you of such finds! :)
Meu amigo, que pepita linda.
Gosto de seus vídeos.
Parabéns, Deus o abençoe.
Now that's a bloody chunker. Well done .it pays to detect around rubbish
You just never know .
Please tell me that before you filled in the hole, you checked to make sure there was nothing else???
The 14" coil on the GPX-4500 was too big to get down the hole but Mrs M poked the SDC-2300 down for a quick check.
What is the brand and model number of that detector? What is the maximum depth of that metal detector? At what depth did you find that nugget? Thank you
Rafael Robles Minelab GPX4500 650mm deep that was found roughly I'd say.
Depending on the target size would depend on the depth.
Info is in description.
You throw the dirt wrecklessly could be tossing nuggets everywhere
GREAT find!
Bloody good DETECTOR
Beautiful nugget
Did you check the hub before you field it in
I want to go back to Australia!!! Nice find!! Did you put your machine back down the hole to make sure that you got all of it?
I hope I checked the hole, I usually do because we have found more than one in a hole on several occasions. To be honest I can't be sure that I did and it's a long way back to find out.
Hope ya double checked the hole before you filled it!! I've found a nugget in someone elses hole before haha
I was thinking the same thing.😎
You after he pulled that nugget out, I kept saying out loud recheck the hole, an the fool never did. He got caught up in being a show off of what he found. Rather than what he was doing. Once again better to be away from people than have those that don’t support what your doing an remind you of it. She never said a word. Other than fill the hole in.
...Oh Gary Abbott....LOL....I'm in....!!!...
@@richardkremer8313 There's no fool like an old fool. What a dumb prick for not checking.

I'm not jealous at all. I hope they find a huge piece of the shiny.
Ps. I'll admit rereading what I wrote can be taken as rude and disrespectful. I apologise, but meant no harm.
Lovely nugget. Well done. Cheers HH
You callin me a love nugget?
Why he didn't check the hole again before filling it?
Lol I was wondering that, maybe they plan to check it again
I thought the same thing.. but he probably did and found nothing so it was a edit cut. I figured he also scanned the tailings.
Steve Young or he just lied about the whole thing!!! I think he did 👎🏻👎🏻
Wow!😱 That's awesome!!👍
Congrats, what brand of coil is that?
Very nice and a find of a life time
That's insane! CONGRATS on that find. I've been digging river side for three years and don't even have an ounce yet. And with my fluid bed gold traps, I can move lots of gravel in a day.
You'd need a machine to clear the gravel away from this spot. There could be any amount of gold down there but you can't get a reliable signal at that depth. We like to be able to work your fluid bed gold trap over here but we're not allowed to use a sluice in WA.
@@moneybox5733 Thanks for the reply Moneybox! Don't know what good it would do in Australia but due to the ridiculous laws against us gold miners pertaining to equipment, I have my patent filed as a Classifier, not a sluice. Time will tell.
@@moneybox5733 I don't normally ask this but could you do me a HUGE favor, Subscribe to my channel. I only ask because I just hit 666 subscribers and I HATE that number.
So sad. Of the 119.50 grams, only 10g was actually gold. The 109.50g was quartz rock.
@@Macky1101 Well, 10 grams is rather impressive just the same. The biggest I have ever found was 1/4 of a gram here in our rivers.
Did you check the hole before filling it.?
You dug it, she could fill it.
What's with the stuffed animal. 🍼
Me alegro mucho campeón,,y lo más importante es dejar el monte como encontrarnos sigue así a dar ejemplo
$6900+ at today’s $2k/ Troy ounce Perth mint gold price!
Can’t snivel at that!
Judging by the hill in the background & spinifex & sand wash, WA Pilbara or thereabouts! 👍👍👍🇦🇺
Wow very nice. Now that was well worth the dig to China lol thanks for sharing. ;)
Judging by the fly's and the warm sunny day one can eliminate Victoria as it's been crap the last couple months. What state was this in matey
wrong buddy it could have been during winter or summer or just a nice day when they filmed it in fact it was on the newspapers as well ?
@@7071t6 Glad to see that your right up on the details 7071t6. As a matter of fact, I mentioned eliminating Victoria as sarcasm to my crappy state. You comment really makes no sense and has no bearing on my comment but if you really must know, this was shot in W.A. The couple reside in Geraldton, W.A. and all their video's have been shot in that state.
Did you test to see if there was any more gold in the pit???
Great find !
Love the vid,thanks for sharing.
Why didn’t you check the hole before you filled it in?
Sure puts a new meaning to "pass the bottle". Check that hole before refilling!
There is something fishy going on here, I would be jumping up and down like a crazy man.
Dale Rogers when ya old not much excites ya lol 😂 my wife can pull a half once piece and not tell ya til the way home lol gold is poker face to the end lol 😂
I believe he dug it up thinking it was trash but didnt record the dig. So he reburied it to video it. Reasons I believe this:
1. Before he began digging, the area already was disturbed, the right side of the area had a change in coloration and level.
2. His metal detector was off. He was filling the hole so he could capture it on video.
3. When he checked the hole with pin pointer, afterwards he was throwing out dirt everywhere, not concerned if he had it in his shovel. Because he knew how deep he buried it.
4. He didnt recheck the hole afterwards because he had already done so when he found it off camera.
5. His excitement level was non-existent. If I had found a $5,000 nugget, I'd be shaking and up on my feet.
I believe he truly found that amazing nugget, but I think he had buried it so he could get it on video as a live dig. Did he actually find it there, I'm skeptical, but possibly.
@@zachoryray6711 I thought it was me seeing things, thanx Zach!
Zachory Ray anytime the footage is cut, just before they do or find something is really fishy. He didn’t check the dirt he was pulling out in shovels full. And when he came back with the other person she had her camera out ready to record something.
@@echoairsoftgroup9309 I agree definitely with you, but it was @Dale Rogers that made the Fishy comment.
Thank you for clearing that up. Like I said involve your audience a little more and explain your process..some people are new some are expert. You never know what to believe these days. Good on ya. Keep up the good work. I've subscribed.
Mark, there was a lot more time put into digging this nugget than I could show you on the video. Mrs M used the SDC-2300 to made sure she checked out the hole and dirt that was pulled out. Sorry it looks fake but I had originally given up on this hole, I was convinced it was junk. It was only after my wife pestered me to go back and do the job properly that we returned. I think the lump of gold is sufficient proof. We rarely dig a second nugget out of this alluvial gravel but nearby we were pulling more than one from each hole. They were coming out of the quartz reef and hopefully we'll get back there one day to finish the job. ruclips.net/video/PiJnELOmfF0/видео.html
@@moneybox5733 okay that makes more sense. I did enjoy the video, but for future reference, voice it or edit text on the screen to tell people what you're doing. Great video I'll edit my comment.
ripper ripper nugget dance material yeeehaaa cheers Glenno.
You guys are mighty tough down under.
That's obviously a hole that was dug out before and if the claim is about a really incredible find, I'm going to have to say that you put it there. This is the kind of video that makes people question real gold prospecting videos!
A well deserved nugget after all that effort. Well done
Western australia.
You wouldnt believe what is found.
Lived there.
So you don't check first if there is more gold before you backfill the hole.
Great work guys, well done
Wow so nice.
hey mate, we have done a fair bit of traveling in WA and
detecting over the years in comfort and now we are putting our Commander up for
sale, it is a great vehicle, reliable and safe, we have avoided caravan parks
like a plague, we had the freedom of so many places that are hard to reach with
the peace and quiet that comes with it, found some good gold and fished some amazing
places. if you want to see a video on it visit RUclips and search for: 4x4
motor home SLRV Commander , you will notice the new paint job and we have made
a few upgrades, if you are interested contact us and do an inspection, you will
not be disappointed😁
No recheck of the hole....???
wonder what the eventual gold weight was, quite a bit of quartz there as well
This one came out really nice once it was cleaned up. The quartz really adds to it so it will never be broken down. I'll do a specific gravity test when we get the time and then we'll have an accurate gold content. In any case the quartz is quite light so most of the weight is gold.
Once in a Lifetime Find, And she says pretty good.
I hope you're wrong Martin. I'm heading back out to look for another one.
killer nugget well done
Thats how you shine a pick.!!
That's a bloody ripsnorter mate 👍
Whys that spot already dug out n cut in with loose dirt?
Salted
What does that mean “SALTED” ?
You Aussies speak a different dialect of English. Explain your slang or the double meaning when you say it? Or do you speak in a type of code so the rest of your audience will never understand and it’s just a joke to you? Get real or is 119 grams another joke, FAKE YEAH SPELL IT FAKE CRAP! No scribe here, BS and you leave the stupid detector blaring in the background mumbling something that is unintelligible. Spend $5K for a detector and wanna show off?
Well done you thankyou for the video
The name of your metal detector and how many meter can hy go deep please thanks
I'm using a Minelab GPX4500 detector. We usually don't find gold deeper than about 400mm down. The reason is not because of the detection depth limit of the detector but other minerals in the soil get in the way. Most of our gold is found in heavily mineralised soil that interferes with the signal. The detector will react to any metallic compound and that will restrict the detection depth for gold. In this case the gold was deposited in old river gravel that might have had a lot less metallic content therefore the detector could find the gold deeper than in the soil that usually hosts the gold.
Excellent find. How much of it was quartz? Did you sell it as a nugget or melt and refine it? I'm curious what something like that is worth, if I may ask.
LJ, the gold is wrapped around and through the quartz. A nugget as beautiful as this would never be crushed or melted down as it's value is greater than the gold value alone. If sold at just gold value it's worth about AUD$7,000.
@@moneybox5733 Good, that's what I thought. Again, congrats on finding a real beauty.
10-4 on the last comment, but congratulations and thanks for sharing that joy!
Seeing your reaction You two must find big gold nuggets all the time. It didnt seem to excite you all. If i had found that chunk they would have had to send an ambulance to pick me up out of that hole cause i would have had a heartattack.
I used to get really excited when I got to dig a big deep target but over time you get to realize that almost all of them are beer cans, horse shoes, old miner's picks on some other worthless junk. I try to protect myself from the expected disappointment at the end :)

Brad, I couldn't get the 14" coil down that hole but Mr M actually poked the SDC down the hole. Lots have made that comment. I didn't get a shot of her doing it but she assures me that she never got a peep out of it.
I would say stagged for sure just by his reaction.Your never as happy second time around.Didn't even scan the hole after words, was just throwing dirt out of the hole.He knew exactly what he was looking for.Nice nugget none the less though, more than I have at the moment.

We were due to do that trip last year but Sandra ended up getting her new hip. That threw a spanner in the works for a bit. Now we are going to Canada right in the middle of our prospecting season so that stuffed us up as well. We got busy unloading gold while the price is up there to help fund Canada but you never know we might bring a bit back with us. I thought you had gone AWOL... :)
@@moneybox5733 hahaha, I'd choose Canada to! Had a bit of. a break. Planning a trip out towards the Tanami. Still need a new machine but will wait till about May.
Hope You, Sandra and Tas have a great trip, watch out for bigfoot
Did you check your hole again
Wow!
Great work guys, well deserved!
You say you don't like being in a river wash. Is that because of the possibility of a flash flood? From 5 to 6:30 you dug like a madman, removing dirt without a check of the hole or the dirt. I don't think I've ever seen that before. Watching that digging, I'm surprised not to see any gold prospector using what we call a post hole digger as they are quite efficient at making a 7" hole down to 5 feet. Now that it's out, it seems you'd want to triple check the hole and all the dirt you dug out.
Does anyone ever check the hole for a twin or more of the same?
Awesome find..i give you a 12/10 for persistence in digging too..i too would have scanned the hole for smaller or maybe larger below..go back & scan again..you never know.judging by the size of the noise coming from around when 1st there..??..i know nothing about detecting so.all assumption from me! Happy detecting! :))
