I love my DX5C. Had it about 11 months now. Works great more features than i can master and the cost was great. I race indoor offroad on clay at MHOR Rc in Denver. I did put a baseball bat grip wrap on the handle and trigger to take up play on gas/ brake transition.
@@wildmangeorgesrcchannel6916 When you place you finger on the throttle, more than likely you'll have space between your finger nail and the brake portion of the trigger. That's the throttle to brake play he's talking about. If you do what he said he did with the baseball bat grip tape when you put your finger in the trigger your finger will be touching the throttle and your finger nail will be up against the tape so it's immediate braking action.

Nice vid man thats what people need DETAILS great job i just bought the system with the srs 6000 receiver its great have one issue setting the fail safe its something im not doing rite.
you probably know it by now..you set fail safe upon binding..push the trigger on brake and steer the wheel during binding/ it will stop and turn just in case it doesn't stop it will go on in small circles..
Looks like a copy of the Airtroncis M12. I've own many Spektrum and Futaba radios in the past 10 years but finally step up the game and bought a M12-s and is blown away how good it feels in my hands. It definitely improve my driving at the track for sure. No wonder 90% of the top pros use Airtronics.
everyone just glances through the buttons! What are the buttons like? Are the button 3way or 2way, are they pressable? These are the things I look for since I´m a crawler and needs to program these buttons for other needs than adjusting trims.
I would have to disagree on a few points... personally I'd give design and construction categories both like a 6 or 7... The motor running while binding is an odd issue, and I believe more an ESC issue as the ESC went to throttle with a lack of signal input... I have NEVER had any spectrum receiver give an ESC a throttle input while in bind mode... Also, not all Spektrum receivers need a bind plug any more, new sport receivers have a button... and there's absolutely no need to turn the radio off, you select the model memory you want to bind to, get to the bind screen, and as soon as the receiver is powered into the bind mode, you select/click the bind on screen and it binds...for a Rx with plug you then power off and remove plug... but not nearly as convoluted as you showed...and not overly complex compared to my experience with other radios... On a side note, but associated with binding... MODEL MATCH... a Spektrum will ONLY control the selected model... whereas many other radios simply store settings for different models but will "control" any receiver bound to that radio... for example, kid on drivers stand driving 2wd truck, dad in pits working on buggy...powers on the buggy... with Spektrum the buggy sits there doing nothing exciting... with most any other radio, any and ALL models bound to the Tx and powered on, will respond to the control inputs on the Tx at the same time... so that buggy in the pits is going nuts driving off the pit table, responding to the inputs given to the car that's on track... I really liked the recent video where another RUclipsr had himself.amd a friend drive their own radios and then a DX5C back to back on a racetrack and compared times... My bonus kid just got this radio, and I am adding one ASAP to comment my DX3S from well over a decade ago, and our pair of Sanwa radios... the screen, menu, and Model match, along with price, are great for this Tx...adding some other features like speed adj, etc...and I think it's a great entry-mid level choice...you'd have to be in a very small portion of RC drivers to be able to utilize more than this radio offers...

@@mysticaldragon2740 , not sure why I didn't see this reply ages ago... bit Ryan Styles Harris did a video with drivers comparing the DX5C to expensive racing radios.... basically the conclusion, unless you're like top top skill level with excellent reflexes and skills, or need a feature this radio doesn't have, the DX5C isn't gonna hold you back of that is what you've got... I'm looking to upgrade my son first, then eventually myself, from really old radios... and this is still a possibility on/near the tip of the list for us...
So is the battery power level on the main screen for the actual double as? Also where do I find the battery level for my smart battery Lipo for my car and the temperature?

And this problem has almost destroyed my rc car twice, so yea. And i have another radio for another rc car and with my other transmitter i have really short range. So does it have decent range ? And does it keep on driving when i brake or do other weird stuff ? I really want a good radio that doesnt do weird stuff or have short range.

I find it very wrong that in the manual do not detail what kind of memory should carry sd, I put a normal class 10 and I blocked the transmitter and now I do not know what to do and they tell me in horizon hobby that takes a class 6, that battles a lot to get it and it comes to me in 2 days and I do not know if that would work with my transmitter I need to tell me that if that sd card class 6 will work again please?

So guess I gotta steal.. also getting a Revo for $70 cuz the dude said it turns on and all but only drives to the left and something about the connection to the radio or something. So I’m thinking it just needs an alignment or a new part to bring it back to life. Any suggestions on what to look for?

yes as they come with the dsrm receivers. I was just at the hobby store and they said the kraton 6s I just got and the vorteks and it will work with both. You just need to bind them.

I ended up burning the brand new receiver, and a $80 dollar savox servo, while trying to bind the receiver to the radio. Overall, a very expensive night for me. The bind process with these radios, is sooo, 1990's. It needs to go. That being said, it was my fault, I fucked up. Lesson learned.
A massage for my 5th scale gas brother's out there, I wish I know this before I purchased this item. don't buy a reciever that has AVC. you can't use a killswitch one it... even if you deactivate avc. Keep building and bashing brother's 👊🏾
Not true. You can switch of avc with 2 jumpers when you bind your receiver. :-) Turning it off in your transmitter only does not work. My fg and hpi baja work fine with killerbee dynamite.
what in the HELL happened to that thumb of yours.. that aside serious question why does this radio not have smart on it like the others? i have this same version that doesnt say smart on it.. is it not compatible with spektrums smart technology esc/receivers?
The Spektrum are known for the steering wheel spring to be tiny and break over time. Number one issue. You did not talk about it. 2/10 for your review based on that!
Razor RC the dx4c was a good beater radio and i fell like for the price point for a little more you could get a nice race radio i recently got a dsm5r but i still use my dxm4c for my crawlers it was 89 $ whit a 4 channel water proof receiver and i don't mind geting it muddy

Get the FLYSKY GT-5 6 CHANNEL TRANSMITTER REC COMBO. Best one up transmitter in the 100 buck class by far and I know for sure it's the best designed by hobbywing and Team Redcat not regular Redcat there is a difference built by Flysky and upgradeable Turnigy software nice lit led up display super easy to use and has a wicked good gyro system and crawler mode worth way more than it is. I would EASILY RANK this above my 4pv with a 75 dollar price tag. This is the best and will be the go to crawler controller for a long time even over 500.00 futaba 7 for crawl and drifting you also can change the color of all the buttons to whatever model of car you are running it also runs on a mini lipo battery way better then double aa. I hated flysky but that gt5 came out and changed my OPINION big time. If you put all three the dx5c 3pv and the Sanwa m44 and I bet the gt5 will still beat all of them in every category and price. I have all 3 the spectrum the futaba 4pv and the FS gt5 and I pick my gt5 over them all. The steering wheel is memory foam and customizable I have the vanquish wheel with the stock foam soooo smooth. Unlike that hard ass foam on the spectrum and big ass wheel. Try one you will be amazed by this controller. They never mention it up against the the others cause it destroys them and they know it.

I love my DX5C! The only gripe I have is the absence of any backlighting on the display. Makes it a bit aggravating when operating after dark.

The Futaba display is called a segmented display. The one on the Spektrum is called a matrix display.

The stock remote for the arrma infraction has 3 options for the speed, how do I adjusts those options after binding to my smart remote?
The DX5C doesn't have that option.

Great radio for the price I have one on my summit , how do you bind multiple cars to the same radio.

Why do I need brake set to 100%to calibrate esc reverse/brake or servo brake on nitro?. Throttle will calibrate at 0%
My buddy at the track put the small dx6r wheel on his 5c and it fit. I put the small wheel on my 5r

My throttle works backwards. How do you fix that?
Switch any two motor wires. If that makes reverse faster than forward, then switch Ch 2 setting to Reverse/Normal.

Should get the DX5 Rugged with the SR515 receiver, it has a button to bind it not one of those crappy bind plugs.

bind reciever to TX with just a servo and reciever battery pack or 4 AA battery holder.... no ESC necessary...

When it first came out, it didn't have telemetry. They added it in the past year to the newer ones.

don't buy a reciever that has AVC. you can't use a killswitch one it... even if you deactivate avc.

Not true. You can switch of avc with 2 jumpers when you bind your receiver. :-) Turning it off in your transmitter only does not work. My fg and hpi baja work fine with killerbee dynamite.

what in the HELL happened to that thumb of yours.. that aside serious question why does this radio not have smart on it like the others? i have this same version that doesnt say smart on it.. is it not compatible with spektrums smart technology esc/receivers?
you can update the firmware to be smart compatible

The Spektrum are known for the steering wheel spring to be tiny and break over time. Number one issue. You did not talk about it. 2/10 for your review based on that!

Razor RC the dx4c was a good beater radio and i fell like for the price point for a little more you could get a nice race radio i recently got a dsm5r but i still use my dxm4c for my crawlers it was 89 $ whit a 4 channel water proof receiver and i don't mind geting it muddy
live motion rc I’m new to RC Cars and I bought a Slash Platinum edition, also the DX4C controller and other extras for $80. Only problem was it had a broken rear drive shaft. So guess I gotta steal.. also getting a Revo for $70 cuz the dude said it turns on and all but only drives to the left and something about the connection to the radio or something. So I’m thinking it just needs an alignment or a new part to bring it back to life. Any suggestions on what to look for?

Get the FLYSKY GT-5 6 CHANNEL TRANSMITTER REC COMBO. Best one up transmitter in the 100 buck class by far and I know for sure it's the best designed by hobbywing and Team Redcat not regular Redcat there is a difference built by Flysky and upgradeable Turnigy software nice lit led up display super easy to use and has a wicked good gyro system and crawler mode worth way more than it is. I would EASILY RANK this above my 4pv with a 75 dollar price tag. This is the best and will be the go to crawler controller for a long time even over 500.00 futaba 7 for crawl and drifting you also can change the color of all the buttons to whatever model of car you are running it also runs on a mini lipo battery way better then double aa. I hated flysky but that gt5 came out and changed my OPINION big time. If you put all three the dx5c 3pv and the Sanwa m44 and I bet the gt5 will still beat all of them in every category and price. I have all 3 the spectrum the futaba 4pv and the FS gt5 and I pick my gt5 over them all. The steering wheel is memory foam and customizable I have the vanquish wheel with the stock foam soooo smooth. Unlike that hard ass foam on the spectrum and big ass wheel. Try one you will be amazed by this controller. They never mention it up against the the others cause it destroys them and they know it.
The bind plug is part of the receiver, not the transmitter.
I store my bind plug in the transmitter battery compartment so I always have it handy if I need it.
Im looking for a spektrum transmitter to replace my traxxas one, is the range better than traxxas which is not very good.
If your Traxxas range isn't good then check your receiver antenna.
