I’m definitely considering this for my SCX10 and the cars I use for bashing around that way my MT44 will just be used for racing and I don’t have to worry about destroying my primary radio while playing around on the rocks.
I know this vid is a little.older, I got a DX5 about 6 months back and not very easy to use...lol...for me anyway....but my local hobby shop helped me set it up to a couple R/C's for.me and I do like the remote itself, I just gotta learn how to use it myself...I'm learning little by little...love your channel 💯
Great transmitter.! Thanks for the in depth. It's funny, I could've really used that timer last week. LOL. Had to keep setting my phone for five min runs. Great video, well done.!
RC Girl 🏎 sure, recently I have been attempting to construct a new speed run challenge. Trying to have a challenge where you can use any vehicle, on any terrain and see if you can cover 3 miles in under five minutes. I had the timer set up on my phone but it would have been quite a bit easier to have the timer right on my transmitter with out having to fiddle with another device. For the price. It’s a great transmitter. Many thanks for the wicked informative video.!👍😄🏎
Thanks! There weren't a ton of videos on it, and the ones that are available just show a quick unboxing so I wanted to give a sense of the programming potential. Took me a while to learn it myself haha
Freaking love my DX5 Rugged. Bought it specifically for my TRX4 Sport but ended up buying an additional 2 SR315 3ch Rx's for my AE RC10-TC3 and Slash. Which the later 2 models were using an older than dirt DX3 1st Gen DSM radio. Yes it supported 3 channels but there isn't the level of fine tuning at all in it. Freaking nice having all 3 models on one Tx. My ultimate favorite feature on the DX5 is that single press G button on the thumb. I use a Mamba X ESC in both my Slash and TRX4. You can set a function on the Aux Wire Mode. For the Slash I have it set to Toggle Reverse On/Off and the TRX4 I have it set to toggle Rock Race/Crawler Mode. Basically Crawler mode changes the Throttle curve to be flatter and turns Drag Brake up to 100%. My old TC3(18 years old and still competitive) I mostly use for Racing in Vintage Trans Am (VTA) 25.5t Spec class, 100% Reedy powered. Otherwise that chassis gets the Drifter body with LED lights tossed on Ch3.
I did find it very helpful. I am looking for ONE radio that I can carry for my three RC vehicles: short course, monster truck and crawler. So many reviews are not talking about the transmitters capabilities. Thanks for the informative review.
Wow, I've missed her videos after she seemed to leave the flying model world. I just got back into RC ground vehicles after decades and seeing her beautiful face on a RC random car search was awesome!

The dx5c works great with a trx4. If you have the mamba x you can set it up on a servo y so that when you shift to 2nd it will turn off the drag break so you do t nose over
Thank you for showing the menues in detail. I don't mind the price of the radio, but if you are used to the prices of FrSky receivers for air radios the prices for something as simple as a 3ch receiver with no diversity antennas or telemetry seem too much like a ripoff. This is the reason I don't use my DX4C for all cars and as much as I like the rugged - I fear it will share the DX4's fate in the end.
Yeah the receiver cost for spektrum transmitters is a bit steep for sure. I know they make DSMR compatible off brand ones (e.g., orangeRX) that are substantially cheaper and I might end up going that route.
@@RCGirl are there already third party DSMR receivers available? If I remember correctly, the orange ones were DSMX only. It would be nice to have cheaper options. Even though I would prefer cheaper originals, than "inspired" ones.

Great video's. Im planing on buying this transmitter but do I have to buy a new receiver for all my rc's or will it connect to my current receivers? New to the hobby.
Depends on what receivers you currently run. It needs to be run of DSMR or DSM2 compatible spektrum receivers. I run the SR515 in most of my rigs. Hey there i need to ask you how i can adjust the punch in this transmitter.
Hey I just found your channel. It's cool seeing a girl that dig's the hobby. I was hoping you could tell me where you got your sound system in your trx4 I'm having trouble finding one. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Awesome! Welcome. I did a vid on it, there's a link in the description for it and a coupon code at the end of the video for a discount on banggood.com. Not sure if the discount is still active but worth trying! ruclips.net/video/UORYdc8EEk4/видео.html
WILL THAT TRANSMITTER BIND TO A SRX300 RECEIVER?
