A problem a lot of us Has .. I just went with the Radio Link. I am very happy with it and the price. Even though I really like Spektrum .. I don't like that they are stock in all the rigs now. So because I don't like having to change everything I have to charge special batteries and esc's , I will be buying kits from now on, and supplying my own electronics.. ;) All that being said I hear these controllers are pretty darn good. I have a dx4c and love it. Has never given me any issues at all. I also have a fly sky gt5. And love that one just as much. If not more. For the money you can’t beat it and the options you get with it. But I am happy with both of mine. My seven RC’s are split between them. I need another Rc to make it even. 😁

Do you know if you need to use spektrum smart lipos to acess all the features of the radio. Like if I use the spektrum esc and motor, but no smart lipos, do I get acess to stuff like motor temp?
The spektrum smart lipos only will give you the battery level indicator, if your using other smart spektrum gear will work with telemetry etc...stay tuned bro 😄

It's been good and I actually like it so far, have about 6 cars linked to it and its nice and quick to switch between each car. The only thing is that it chews batteries! So may need to get some rechargeable... Haven't had a problem with range, seems good.. also comfortable in hand👍

As for the infraction, unless you really like onroad cars, and have someone to run it with, my personal opinion running by yourself can get boring quick! Also be prepared to buy a whole lot of tires. I would say plenty of rc out there you can have more fun with. For me the infraction is not my main car to run but its there for me when i feel like it 🙂.but its still alot of fun Hope this helps bro! I have the rugged and have been thoroughly disappointed by the controller. most RTR receivers are not compatible with it so you have to spend $20 on a receiver for each car. the range is bad so don't consider using it on your short course trucks. it devours batteries - just drains them dry crazy fast. the touch panel interface does not like my finger prints at all. I hope you have better luck with yours than I have had with mine. For me, the worst bit of RC "kit" that I've every purchased.
Is the one you have the older version or same as mine? My one has the updated touch panel.. its not the best still but it functions ok. Oh and thanks for watching bro!

worst radio i have ever bought , i love spektrum , i still use my dx3r , even with the issues of the scroll wheel ,its still SO much better than my horrible rugged , it put me off actually driving because of it .... the whole rugged thing is great , but the issues put me right off , next will be a dx5 pro hopefully that gets me back into crawling , but every time i even try to use the rugged , it just infuriates me , worst radio ever
Damn that sucks bro! Did you get the newer version like mine? Because that has the improved touch screen.. still not the best but better than the older one..apart from it getting a bit wet (its meant to be waterproof!!!) When it showered while i was on the trails and the whole thing went spaztic! It has has been working.

Yeah they are expensive specially the batteries...i dont think il ever get the batteries.. il just run all spektrum controller recievers..👍
