      It needs only better parking and could use some entertainment outside the stadium. Inside the stadium could use a little more standing room areas or areas like the bird bath which makes the game more interactive. None of that is a fraction of the 600 million dollar cost.

      I agree but ours is not the only perspective, and there is always those who specialize in these matters who see it from an entirely different canvas. I love OPACY as is, but like the crap changes in MLB rules, that many like, I despise them as a traditionalist (grew up on 1980's and until 1997 with awful interleague play), but grudgingly understand WHY.

    There is this under-monetized space in every ballpark. its dimensions are 90‘ x 90‘ x 90‘ x 90‘ only one player consistently uses it. Can we build a restaurant there? We will just put the player, I think he’s called a pitcher, on some sort of gogo dance mound and he can throw from there, from the middle of the restaurant. This sounds like such a moneymaking opportunity.

    My first games were at Memorial Stadium, and then most of my years were spent at Camden Yards. Both stadiums are close to my heart. I live near Pittsburgh so go to PNC often and the one thing that I love about PNC that OPACY doesn’t have is the ability to go to concessions and be able to still see the game. I think that has to be the first thing that needs to be resolved. Regarding the seats in Left Field and down the Right Field line, I’m totally on board with turning those into common areas (bars/restaurants). I hate seeing them empty. Other than that, I wouldn’t do too much. OPACY is such an awesome stadium and it stands on its own. One thing I would encourage, although I know it won’t happen, is to implode the Hilton beyond LF, because it took away the sight of downtown Bmore. Namely the Arts Tower.

  • @timottes334
    @timottes334 22 дня назад +2

    They are probably going to think twice about removing the left field upper deck seats, because already in this season the fans are starting to take those seats...
    At last nights game the attendance was 38, 500 & fans were in the left field upper deck a bit & in the last six Baltimore is getting 30, 000 a game... Avg for year so far is around 26, 000 & Baltimore gets hotter att wise when summer comes & school lets out...
    So, when summer comes... the left field upper deck will probably get fannies in it much of the time except when Oak, KC and the like come to town... & of course, that 2, 000 or so seats are a lot of revenue come playoff time & this team should be playoff bound for at least the next five years...
    It looks like the Orioles will avg over 30, 000 this year, which means those seats unlike in places like Cleveland will be sat in...

    The bleachers are great seats. People sit there every game because there are so few of them. The bar/restaurant thing is ridiculous. There’s an area on TOP of the batters eye now that’s a hangout area. The entire batters eye should be demolished, there’s a bunch of dead space out by the bullpens, and there’s a building behind it where the hangout area is. This would work if they’re going to reconfigure/remove/shift the bleacher area.

They need to invest in making the game fan friendly again. They used to have a smoking section that was technically outside the stadium but was inside these gates to make it so there was no one sneaking in. It’s not just the not having a place for smokers, it’s the militant harassment of the fans smoking or non smoking. It’s gotta stop. I’m a non smoker never even touched a cigarette in my life and have been personally harassed. I had a friend who was eating a hot dog nearly be thrown out of the game “for smoking” it’s utterly ridiculous. The thing about these bar areas that people don’t realize is they only work financially with a good economy,if the economic outlook in America starts to look even bleaker than it is now fans are not going to be caring about being robbed to even pay for a ticket and now pay for overpriced drinks also. As someone who lives in Denver and goes to a fair amount of Rockies games, the best thing they ever did to Coors Field was put in the bar/social spaces in the upper deck in right field. That thing is PACKED every night, even if the rest of the stadium is sparce. No one ever sat up there, unless it was a sellout prior to the renovation to add the rooftop bar.

    I believe Camden is fine as is, BUT ours is not the only perspective, and there are always those who specialize in these matters who see it from an entirely different canvas. I love OPACY as is, but like the crap changes in MLB rules, that many like, I despise them as a traditionalist (grew up on 1980's and until 1997 with awful interleague play), but grudgingly understand WHY, and the same applies to stadiums. Let's go one step farther: those who hate public funding are likeky not old enough to remember the Colts departure, and the drunk ramblings of Robert Irsay on television (a huge deal in 1984). Yes, the MSA (Maryland Stadium Authority) SAVED the Orioles. Thank William Donald Shaffer and Herb Belgrade....

    Disgraceful the state paying for it, the teams can afford to do it, and if not they can sell revenue share in the additional businesses the city having to pay to build on/around the stadium. But then awwww the owners would make less money.

    When did parking lots become obsolete, how the tf are all these people getting to the games? Sofi Stadium has huge amounts of parking and it doesnt take away the amazing look of the Stadium or feel like its lacking a district. I think all these future ballpark districts will be a waste of parking and money

    Yeah, how many restaurants - with lousy and expensive food? We had two roast beef sandwiches (lousy!) with chips (even lousier, lol), two twelve-ounce cokes at Boog’s, club level last Friday night - $57.24! Could have had a MUCH better, MUCH cheaper meal at McDonald’s before paying $17.00 to park OTHER of the Ravens’ stadium. The alternative restaurant (on the club level) was $80.50 (plus tax maybe?), all-you-can-eat, all game (they said). We passed (we’re big guys, but not grizzly bears who haven’t eaten in a month, lol). I remember as a kid, hot dog AND coke for twenty-five cents, 😳. Cut the lousy restaurants and $500 million from the renovations. And heh, maybe the new multi-billionaire owner could foot the other $100 million. Same with the Ravens!
