Been to the big house 4x. It is very dull. It's not a loud stadium since it isnt steep. Honestly, boring and dull but its cool to say you have been there. Atmosphere wise, iowa, wisconsin, nebraska and penn state bring a lot more to the table.
Makes sense, also no roof to reflect the noise. I assume it gets pretty loud but the volume doesn’t top out as high as other stadiums. Penn state is the loudest outdoor stadium I’ve ever been to. Iowa though may be the most underrated, that place got loud
Michigan Football. Since 1879. I say that because the folks there have seen quite a bit of history over the last nearly century and a half. All the great ones have played there, far, far too numerous to mention. As alums of one of the premier public academic institutions in the land, they tend to take a more measured, learned, 'keeper of the flame' approach to football spectating. The way any venerated public venue in the world tends to do - be it sport, debate, concert, dance, opera, bull fighting, et al. In The Big House, you are being measured against history - and the ghosts, legacies and traditions of the past. Don't be fooled. As the late, great Bob Ufer once said, in Ann Arbor, football is religion and Saturday is the holy day of obligation. Michigan Stadium is a temple, cathedral, mosque all rolled into one. 🏉🏈🕎✝️☪️
I‘m from austria but studied in syracuse. Even tho my fav college os psu and i watched a couple of games and the atmosphere is just insane! Especially white out is the best atmosphere you can have!
Michigan State Stadium is actually one of my favorites. You have to see it from the ground walking to on campus. MSU campus has lots of curving paths and bridges crossing the river which winds through campus. Thus every approach to the stadium is at an angle and each side of the stadium is different making he stadium interesting to look at no matter how you approach it. It has a combo of that old college stadium feel along with newer designs in the classical style. Over all it's cool, add the autumn foliage changing color and it's a perfect place for a college game. Penn States stadium is like this too. Very interesting to look at from the ground. MSU stadium in the middle of campus and angled as mentioned, PSU's is at the outskirts of campus and not angled however its size makes up for that. These 2 are two of my favorite stadiums.
Husky Stadium isn't on Puget Sound. It's on Union Bay of Lake Washington. Although SHI Stadium opened in 1994, it is a complete rebuild on the site of the 1938 Rutgers Stadium.
Scariest place to play gotta say probably in the SEC. There's a few to choose from but I'd say LSU Death Valley. Autzen is my favorite in the B1G, it's just so aesthetically pleasing. Of course I'm a Duck fan but still.
Coming from a Packers fan (and a Canadian too) but the Chicago Bears played their 2002 season at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, IL while Soldier Field was undergoing massive renovations.
Nothing compares to a White Out. It still gives me chills just thinking about the 4OT win against Michigan in 2013. It felt like the entire structure was shifting.
I invite you to come experience a game at Kinnick sometime before you judge it too boring... it's an amazing atmosphere and the fans are right on top of the field, I love it.
@@alancerveny279One of the most Iconic B1G stadiums. The Bugeaters have been in the B1G for only a decade or two and all the voted on Sears trophies came during their Big 8 days when all they had to do was get past Okie to get a shot at the voted-on Natty.
Very nice video ! While it's somewhat obvious that the larger the stadium, the more likely that football is preeminent as the sport of choice amongst the student body, most likely the wider state, too. But the correlation isn't perfect. In Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin, as just one example, football is quite popular too, only the respective states are less populous than, say, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. 🤔
For Autzen, you don’t have an image of the newest video screen. On the other side of the field there’s a much bigger one that says Mighty Oregon over it.
I'll have to mention it the next time I do a video on the Big Ten. I left out Nebraska on this list so I'm sure I will be circling back to the Big 10 relatively soon. I try my best to find good pictures sometimes it's great to have that extra set of eyes though. I appreciate it!
The University of Iowa really can't add any more capacity because it only has one end zone that has nothing behind it. There is also a University policy that nothing on campus can be taller than the original towers of the hospital.
The BIG Conference has by far the most legendary stadiums in the country. Michigan's The Big House , Ohio State's The Horseshoe , UCLA'S The Rose Bowl , USC'S The Coliseum , Penn State's Happy Valley ,
I still don’t think it tops the SEC. Bamas, auburns, the swamp in Florida, Death Valley, ole miss’s, Willam’s-Brice stadium, Tennessee’s, and now adding Texas’s and Oklahoma’s 😮💨
@@keslertyner1986 None are more legendary than Michigan's , Ohio States , USC'S or UCLA'S and that's just facts. Might not even be more legendary than Penn States.
@@Bob-te3le I mean I disagree, maybe in the 80’s and 90’s what you’re saying is true but in the last 25 years the stadiums I listed above are untouched.
Thank you about the wave info, that's good to know. Also, I was just speaking faster than I was thinking about the location. If I remember correctly, they are in Iowa city but I'm just going off the top of my head. I appreciate you being kind about it, it was an honest mistake I didn't do on purpose. In the future I will at some point add the location into my videos so mistake like that won't happen.
I've been fortunate enough to have visited a few Big 10 stadiums... 1. Camp Randall 2. Beaver Stadium 3. Michigan Stadium 4. Memorial Stadium (Nebraska) 5. Ross Ade Stadium 6. Ryan Field
The Big Ten should be embarrassed for allowing Northwestern to play in that shit hole for two years. The only games which should be allowed in that place are non-conference games against non-Power Four teams. The game vs. Duke and all four conference games should be played off campus, whether it be at Soldier Field, Wrigley or Guaranteed Rate Field. Duke, Indiana and Wisconsin should raise holy hell for being forced to play in a temp facility which isn't up to D-II standards.
@@_WastedPotential hope so. I enjoyed you talking about many of the stadiums and then noticed you missed one of the best ones in the country and I’m not even just saying that as a Husker fan. It’s a very special place with so much history. But keep Up the good work
Camp Randall Stadium is way too historic for adding much in the way of luxury booths. And as far as i know, no one wants it. Plus, with the jump around tradition, they already have to get engineers to check out the stadoum. So to add more weight, they'd have to tear down and build from the ground up. Another thing no one wants. At least from my opinion, i think they should get rid of the stadium seating in some of the sections along the side lines for some seating with backs. But that's just cause my back is wrecked, and I'd like to be more comfortable. Lol, im also selfish like that.
@_WastedPotential it's a good stadium with lots of history. If you ever go, be there a day or 2 early for the tour. It is like an hour/hour and a half long. I think there's a good 50 different parking lots scattered around the stadium. With it being a college town, there's great public transportation. And none of the lots are really all that far, and it's a very walkable area. And like with a lot of college stadium, it's the area around it that really builds its character. The best stadiums I've been to always are the ones with historic or just interesting/entertaining things to do. A few good museums and a great zoo are right in the same section of town. The Capitol building is pretty much right down the road. Madison is just a good town with lots to do, can walk most places, and you don't have to worry about crime. There are tons of bars, so you might run into some college kids being rowdy. But it's the Midwest, so it's not like, say, atlantas version of rowdy. I'm a rural/country person, but Madison is one of the few bigger cities I wouldn't mind living in for a couple of years. Any more than that, I'd probably go nuts though lol.

PS : IF...those sports media corporations are adamant about putting Penn State's White victims...I mean opponents, on noon games instead of a 7:30 kickoff.....like rumor has that only Illinois will be a night game on NBC......the Penn State Admin needs to grow a set and tell the Front Office of the Chicago Mob to F' OFF!!
