@@Jaycation actually it comes with 2 condoms, some lube, a small vibrator, and maybe a couple flowers or something. That’s specific one in that room costs a little over $20
A couple safety tips I might add 1. )Stay away from the superhero characters or any of the characters on the strip. They are independent and don't work for any hotel. You could literally have your kid take a picture with a pedo that's dressed up as Spiderman. My husband worked security on the strip several years ago and most of the people dressed up as these characters were dirty, shady people. Don't take a picture with them and certainly don't let your kids take a picture with them. 2.) I used to drive for Lyft before the pandemic and sometimes people wanting to go to Fremont st . will just put Fremont on the Lygt app and it takes you to some bad, shady area North of downtown. I gave a ride to some young girls once and when we got to the random place that the app brought us to they knew they made a mistake. There was no way I was dropping them off there so I took them to Fremont st. where they thought they selected. Make sure you put Fremont st. Experience on your ride share app. Not all Lyft drivers will be willing to take you to where you really want to go leaving you stranded in a horrible part of town until you wait for another Lyft ride to pick you up.
That goes for the fake showgirls and fake bunny girls as well. Any costumed characters for that matter, and not just in Las Vegas. They strictly are to only work for tips, not to charge any fees because then they would need a license to do what they do. They are buskers. The tips are voluntary. I was one of the “buskers” on Hollywood Boulevard, Times Square, and The Strip. Heck, I even performed on the pier and third street promenade of Santa Monica.
Any vacation where I have to be on vigilance suitable for a combat soldier is no longer a vacation, it's an urban obstacle course. I get scammed at the hotel, I get scammed in casinos, restaurants, bars, and scammed on the street. When do I relax??
Here are 3 additional suggestions. 1. Have a gambling budget for each day and stay within it. 2. A corollary to 1, Don't ever chase your losses. You'll lose your bankroll, which isn't fun. 3. If you hit a decent jackpot, return to your room and put it in the safe. Then continue playing within your daily limit. It gives you a break from gaming, and you won't blow through your winnings.
One thing to remember: Las Vegas technically is a desert. You will not have "moderate" weather. The city lives on the extremes: if it gets very hot in the day time, night time will be quite chilly. I remember visiting when I was around 13 yrs old and wow it was c-cold at night. My mom was very relieved that she remembered to pack jackets for everyone. Another thing: don't always expect a nice quiet night. Construction crews have no choice but to work at night because the heat is so severe it can damage building materials. One construction worker commented that he is forbidden to lay concrete in the daytime. Why? The heat causes it to crack when it cures! That's how hot it is.
How do you get 38 likes for misinformation? Vegas is not technically a dessert. IT is a desert. If it is hot during the summer days it is hot during summer times and the humidity is the worse. Even during winter time it is still at least 80 at night there. You either never went there or your 13 year old memory is faulty.
The dumb mistake when I went to Vegas was trying to see everything in a day. I arrived at noon but couldn't check into my hotel until three so I decided to walk the strip. I walked from the Luxor to the Strat. That wouldn't be that bad but I also went through every hotel on the way. I probably walked about ten miles that day. Then the next day I had blisters and was exhausted and didn't really want to do anything. I also went to Vegas alone, for a week, I don't recommend that. You actually get bored after the third day. This was in 1995 so there was way less to do than now but still. No one wanted to go and I did but it would be way more fun with at least one other person.
Why do people always tell people not to go places alone? First people have no choice to go places alone some don’t have friends or family, people don’t have money to travel. U got bored because u aren’t comfortable being alone with yourself. People who are comfortable with themselves don’t get bored being alone 😂 stop seeking validation from people
Hey Jay, as an individual who frequents Vegas 2 to 3 times a year, I found your video super informative! And so many levels you’re so right! A lot of this it is common sense…..Cheers to another one!!🍻😃
Great tips! One that I would add, would be not buying a multi-day, monorail pass. It’s much cheaper to buy a multi day, pass online before your trip and then store it on the wallet in your phone. It’s so quick and easy to scan the pass on your phone as opposed to standing in line and messing around buying daily passes at the stations. You do have to walk a little bit from some of the stations to the strip, but you save a ton of money over ridesharing or taxes if you were willing to walk a little.
I find the deuce MUCH better. It takes you everywhere the monorail does and is easier, more frequent, more stops for where you want, and puts you smack dab on the strip. Also takes you to Fremont. MUCH better than monorail.
Spot on, on everything. I love staying at Park MGM just because its so close to that CVS (which is possibly the best store on the strip) I even took a 30 minute power nap after getting a little intoxicated before lunch... Slammed a liter of water and a liter of Powerade and dozed off. Woke up super fresh for round 2 that afternoon. Some day I really want to take a picture with the showgirls and then ask them for a tip... technically you don't have to pay them anything, its illegal for them to demand any amount of money...obviously if you are willing to take a picture with them you should give them something though. Great video, sad I just left 2 days ago!
The ABC stores in the Miracle mile were awesome to save money!! The Trams were great. Got from the LinQ to Park MGM to See Aerosmith, just crossed the street and rode to the concert, which saved time too. Good Job Jay!! I've been there 6 times on and off strip. I always learn something new. 👌
Thanks for this awesome warning video! I am a teenager who is going to be hitting vegas tomorrow, and I have been ripped off like this especially by timeshare people and hotel minibars, so videos like this are helpful. 🤘
A friendly warning: some minibars have a motion sensor in them. If you even rummage around or bump a bottle or two, it "pings" the computer and will log it as a purchase even if you never remove it! Check your bill and do NOT hesitate to protest if they slap $5 for that Diet Coke even though you never took it out. Take a picture of the minibar before checkout to show that it was never used. That tip about the drug stores is excellent. I have shopper rewards cards at both brands so it's MUCH cheaper to hit Walgreens or CVS instead of a hotel convenience store.
Thanks for the video Jay, I just want to add one more thing about withdrawing money from ATM’s. If you’re withdrawing money in Vegas, and you’re an international tourist, you’ll have to be careful of the currency conversion rate & the bank fees.
My personal tourist mistake is spending/gambling a total of $1,000 to bring my rewards card status up to Pearl…. So that I can save on the parking. Calculating out, I’d have to use it for 55 nights this year to make it even out 😂
Just a FYI while out in public you can photograph or video anything you can see and are not obligated to pay any street performer. But they are there to make money so tip them if you take a photo with them.
Fantastic video Jay. Very honest and straight-forward from a real-person's experience in Las Vegas. Common sense seems to have a premium on YT these days.

These casinos have the mini-bar model all wrong. Charge about the same as the shops downstairs and generate consistent revenue instead of having it be some extremely rare thing. The mini-bar inventory is OLD because it's extremely slow to get rotated out. For having so many smart people and MBAs running these world-class resorts, they're obtuse on the mini-bar business model.
I think the business model is that they don't want you in your room if you want a drink or snack. They also don't want an empty fridge so you are less likely to buy your drinks from CVS or a liquor store. I would think that they could just get rid of it, but there are obviously people who pay those prices. Even if it can be in an unethical manner.
@@JW-eq3vj you sleep and do spend time in it. So the times people are there, make them spend money instead of not spending at all. A little less of massive profit is better than none at all.
Steve H, my thoughts too! If I ran a megacasino, I wouldn't charge even 20% more than what CVS does. If that can of Coke is $1 at CVS, I'll price mine at $1.35 straight out of the minibar. If the travel size Smirnoff vodka is $5 at the local Goody-Goody store, I'll charge $7.99 so they feel tempted to get it. I think in the long run, it'll rake in more profits than if the items were marked up 600%...

We were there last week and down in Laughlin. We went on the boat tour and now I'm sick, again with sinus and upper respiratory. We were there back in June before the Formula race too. Oh yes, I just remembered I had the same sickness in December too.
Hi Jay, great helpful and educational video. Thanks for sharing those great tips on things to do and not to do in Las Vegas. I appreciate all your suggestions always.
What good is the mini fridge if it’s packed full and you can’t even use it. Are you allowed to empty it to make room for things you want to put in it ?
Been going to Vegas for 22 years and yes I wish there was youtube back in the early 2000's , now we act like locals, we don't stay on the strip, we don't eat on the strip and we don't go during the summer, the heat is pretty brutal! The MGM CC was a good tip, thanx!
Military Active Duty and Veterans can get free parking by signing up for MGM Rewards and Caesars Rewards. Also anyone can get free parking by signing up for the Resorts World players card.
When I was in Las Vegas on February 26th 2020, I just came to celebrate my 50th birthday 🎂. It was wonderful. I stayed in the Excalibur and I loved Johnny rockets
Good advice! Especially the getting drunk on day one. So Jay, do you know now in June 2024 what casinos on the strip have 3:2 blackjack with a $25 minimum? Or are they higher minimums? Thanks!
Hi jay, i saw on this video u show a vegas knight merchandise, hat, etc ( on min 10.31) from what store is that? Can you recommend where to buy VGK merchandise rather than in The armoury that have a cheaper price?
I’m going in 2 weeks, I’m 21, going with my cousins, not a big drinker or gambler but they are 😅😂 I’m just worried about the heat fr, I mean it’s hot here in California but it’s even hotter over there 😬
Hi Jay, great video. Question? For someone who is new to vegas and wanting to play blackjack somewhere. Where do you think, in your opinion, is the best place to go. Not wanting to play on a 6 to 5 table. Where would you go?
On tipping the show girl you can tip whatever you want. It’s illegal for them to demand a set price and if they try it just tell them to call the police. Tip whatever you want! It’s a tip
BTW black/red is NOT 50/50 on roulette. Most wheels have two green zeros, some even have 3 now. The casino wants you to BELIEVE that it's 50/50, don't be fooled!
Seriously. I don't want to play by myself and I don't want to play with people who are mad at the dealer for "giving them bad cards." Apart from that, other people can't really affect your game. Maybe if they're smoking a cigar.
You guys clearly have no idea how to black blackjack. Someone hitting or not hitting when they should have, completely changes the table and the dealers cards. Especially if they're in the last position.
I probably would make many mistakes but i already know that how expensive mini bars in hotel rooms are that one i can count out 😅lol Thank you Jay 🙂👍!!!
I'd say you got some good advice as there are certainly things I was unaware of from my first Vacation to Vegas. However, I did go to a Walgreens and paid like 6 dollars for Ketchup that would be 1 or 2 dollars atDG or Walmart. If those are the cheapeststores I will just avoid them. The ABC store sounds like the main place I will check out for drinks in stuff on my upcoming trip.
One great tip from someone who has been to Las Vegas many times, is don't skip on breakfast, it is the most important meal of the day and also the cheapest if you load up at the buffets. Then you're not paying the higher prices later in the day or wasting valuable time in long lines for the dinner buffet. So to be up bright & early, going sober is a game changer as you won't have hangovers. You don't need alcohol to have fun, and you make better choices during your trip. This is why there's alcohol served everywhere on the Strip, to get you making bad decisions.
So, I’m honestly curious… I’m going to Vegas for the first time next month and am pretty directionally challenged. Unfortunately I’m not staying on the strip at all, I’m staying at the Palms. I saw there’s a Walgreens a small walk away. Would I be safe walking there during the day in the event I need something? If not, I’ll just fork out the money for something in the convenience store but as shown, I am trying to avoid this. Also, does anyone possibly know if they have an ice machine anywhere at the Palms? Thank you!! ^_^
Hi! Every floor usually has an ice machine. As for Walgreens, during the day you should be fine. There is also a Smiths not too far away, you could uber or lyft there and back for cheap and its a decent grocery store
the superhero street hustlers are aggressive - I saw them grab a female youtuber then demand money for the photo even though she clearly said no to them. Not sure why they are even allowed to be there
My wife is from Cambodia and had no idea of the scam. They asked to take a picture with her and before I could decline for her, she said sure like NBD, then they wanted $60
I actually had one of those Yard Sticks once. They PACKED it full of shaved ice which was good for me, because I can handle watered down alcohol versus straight alcohol. So I sipped an adult snow cone all day.
I have a good amount of self control and make it a personal rule: NO alcohol on the first day. Not even a mild one like rum and coke. I go a LITTLE bit crazy with the sightseeing on the first day. That way I know what to look for on the second day. I strongly recommend at least THREE days there if you're on a budget. I hate to say it but it's true: it is NOT cheap any more. It used to be but for some reason the casinos no longer want to provide cheap meals so that's their loss. I just don't hit the gambling floor if I wind up paying $19 for a small steak and fries... I remember on my vacation from a loooong time ago when that same meal cost only $9! That's because they wanted you to have some money left to hit the slots.
Parking at the Venetian, Wynn, Encore, and the Palazzo are not free anymore. It cost about $20 a day to park at those Hotels. The only free parking left on the strip is Treasure Island i believe, but they have signs all over the place now that say you cannot park there for free if you are not a guest.
If your not the Las Vegas Blvd, "the strip" much what is the use of taking the tram? Purchase those items at CVS or Walgreens. When I lived in Las Vegas there was no Target on Las Vegas Blvd. Like to stay near my hotel at night. How is Eataly?
I don't know if you know how to read or understand tagalog. Can you make a vlog on how to rent a car in Vegas and what are the pros and cons and scam if i rent a car Thanks kabayan
If someone tries grabbing your kid for a photo. You have every right to ask if it's free or not. You're not forced to take a photo with bootleg grinch 😂❤
One note on sleep. If you don’t get the right amount of sleep your immune system will be weaker. Your immune system can drop as much as 90% with sleep deprivation 😅
I didn’t see you drinking the Excalibur booze sword in your Excalibur videos! is it in a different one or not filmed? I wanted to see the yard sword 🗡️😆
Have seen quite a few people cross over to the Walgreens' from that CVS by Park MGM. Dumb. I have never walked past Container Park at night. Before the upgrades on Fremont when a friend and i got past Heart Attack Grill we just looked forward and stopped. One extra mistake is not bringing comfortable shoes. The streets are longer than you think.

Much appreciated Steve!
Shout out to George. Love seeing the fellas collaborating. You guys should collab on a video, on how to Properly do a trip with your boys!
What good is the mini fridge if it’s packed full and you can’t even use it. Are you allowed to empty it to make room for things you want to put in it ?
Great tips, great video, great vibes!
I really appreciate that!
I remember when self parking was free. Casinos will always find another way to make money.
Yup, check your receipts for random fees… they are getting sneaky.
yup gone r the days of comp everything unless u are a high roller!
agreed
Thanks! Question… is there a second fridge in the hotel room? Cause then how do I keep my own stuff cold?
Based on videos I’ve seen, empty fridges for guest use seem very rare on the strip
I stayed in the Flamingo last week and they had an empty fridge for customer use.
You could take their stuff out of the fridge, then just put it back later
People playing 'correctly' at a blackjack table doesn't actually impact your chances of winning or losing at all; it's a superstitious belief.
@@RS-vz8xd not unless u know how to count cards & some newb throws off your true count
Been going to Vegas for 22 years and yes I wish there was youtube back in the early 2000's , now we act like locals, we don't stay on the strip, we don't eat on the strip and we don't go during the summer, the heat is pretty brutal! The MGM CC was a good tip, thanx!
haha oh man Vegas was so different back in the early 2000s. One could debate it was even more fun.
@@Jaycation It was! Stardust 100% lol
I'm going to Vegas in January for my 40th birthday! It will be my first trip to Sin City. I'll definitely watch this again as it gets closer!!
Military Active Duty and Veterans can get free parking by signing up for MGM Rewards and Caesars Rewards. Also anyone can get free parking by signing up for the Resorts World players card.
Great tip for Military! Thanks.

I’m going in 2 weeks, I’m 21, going with my cousins, not a big drinker or gambler but they are 😅😂 I’m just worried about the heat fr, I mean it’s hot here in California but it’s even hotter over there 😬
$50 Lovers Kit?? Nah we’re just going to bed at that point. 😂
haha! So im guessing a lover's kit isnt just a condom right? What else are the contents? Pills and Oils?! haha
@@Jaycation Let’s hope there’s caviar and chocolate in there too!
Do I smell another colab on the horizon? 😂
Good stuff, Jay. Keep it up! 👍
“Avoid these sketchy areas” sir, I’m coming from Detroit 😳😅
Not just talking to you though lol
Im coming from LA so I know what’s up too 😬
detroit, get urself some LA south central
Hi Jay, great video.
Question?
For someone who is new to vegas and wanting to play blackjack somewhere. Where do you think, in your opinion, is the best place to go. Not wanting to play on a 6 to 5 table. Where would you go?
Great video! You just earned a new subscriber 🤙
Thanks Money Marc! Welcome to the Squad!
On tipping the show girl you can tip whatever you want. It’s illegal for them to demand a set price and if they try it just tell them to call the police. Tip whatever you want! It’s a tip
Thanks fore the info Jay 👍🙏
I'm a tourist from the UK and I've been to Vegas loads of times, I haven't made any of these mistakes. Am I doing something wrong?
The minibar thing is often overlooked as guess with kids usually make the mistakes...ie the kids accidentally open those
BTW black/red is NOT 50/50 on roulette. Most wheels have two green zeros, some even have 3 now. The casino wants you to BELIEVE that it's 50/50, don't be fooled!
Even more of a reason to NOT put all your money on black!
@@Jaycation exactly! Great tips overall Jay, as always!
Unskilled blackjack players at a table having any effect on your outcome is a myth. There's a lot of valid information available that explains this.
Yeah, it's funny how people think unskilled players can change the count.....
Seriously. I don't want to play by myself and I don't want to play with people who are mad at the dealer for "giving them bad cards." Apart from that, other people can't really affect your game. Maybe if they're smoking a cigar.
show proof
its funny how some people dont.
You guys clearly have no idea how to black blackjack. Someone hitting or not hitting when they should have, completely changes the table and the dealers cards. Especially if they're in the last position.
I probably would make many mistakes but i already know that how expensive mini bars in hotel rooms are that one i can count out 😅lol Thank you Jay 🙂👍!!!
lol good u do but not all
I'd say you got some good advice as there are certainly things I was unaware of from my first Vacation to Vegas.
Thank for the information helps alot and stay awesome 👌
One great tip from someone who has been to Las Vegas many times, is don't skip on breakfast, it is the most important meal of the day and also the cheapest if you load up at the buffets. Then you're not paying the higher prices later in the day or wasting valuable time in long lines for the dinner buffet. So to be up bright & early, going sober is a game changer as you won't have hangovers. You don't need alcohol to have fun, and you make better choices during your trip. This is why there's alcohol served everywhere on the Strip, to get you making bad decisions.
funny stuff. You a comedian in Vegas?
Great video Thanks
I just came across your video, great info. Im going single a few weeks... thoughts about the hostels? Thanks!
The first time my wife and I went to Vegas, she took EVERYTHING out of the refrigerator to put our stuff in. The hotel (Delano) was cool about it.
Just checking out the channel. Year old video but its a slapper. Thanks, pal.
Where did you find the VGK merch ?
You right about the big drinks, I crashed at 12 noon 😂😂😂couldn’t get back up ☠️
So, I’m honestly curious… I’m going to Vegas for the first time next month and am pretty directionally challenged.
Awesome!!! Thank you so much for answering my questions! I’m very excited for my trip and this helps me prepare even more! ^_^
@katieofsister have an amazing time!
Luv George, and Jaycation videos are always informative & entertaining. Great job!
Thanks so much kissy!
12:00 is the area near the airport ok?
I can't believe people actually pay for pictures.
the superhero street hustlers are aggressive - I saw them grab a female youtuber then demand money for the photo even though she clearly said no to them. Not sure why they are even allowed to be there
This is big stuff when you're coming from Alabama back woods for a vacation. They'll pay for all this stuff and show everyone back home.
So I sipped an adult snow cone all day.
great vid! thanks for all the tips
Oh, I remember making the bad mistake of getting absolutely *destroyed* on my first night of a trip. It wasn't pretty the day after either. 😆
ohhh man being hungover traveling home! Thats a huge mistake lol
Thanks for this. First trip in Vegas next week. Lots of useful info. You have a new suscriber :)
If your not the Las Vegas Blvd, "the strip" much what is the use of taking the tram? Purchase those items at CVS or Walgreens. When I lived in Las Vegas there was no Target on Las Vegas Blvd. Like to stay near my hotel at night. How is Eataly?
Gonna share this video with my family members 👍🏻
I appreciate that Jeff!
How others play blackjack has absolutely no impact on your outcome.
These are really good tips!!👍
Thanks Parker!
My wife got the fishnet one years ago... paid a grip for it!!! It's deep in a closet, hasn't been touched since we came back with it🤣🤦♂🤷♂
Just found your Channel. Wow soooo nice reviews. One day I will visit Las Vegas. Greetings from over Europe ✌️
You always have a great vlog!
Thanks so much!
Who buys from the mini bar?? Hasn't every movie and TV show with a mini bar scene taught us NOT to do that? lol 😅
Players not playing by the book or a whole table playing perfectly in BJ, has no mathematical effect on your chances. That’s pure psychological
Exactly. The cards are random, so it does not matter what other people do.
the bus pass is the best way to travel the strip in the summer. busses every like 5 mins and its like 10$ for a 24hour pass or something.
I don't know if you know how to read or understand tagalog. Can you make a vlog on how to rent a car in Vegas and what are the pros and cons and scam if i rent a car
Thanks kabayan
Thank you! 👍
If someone tries grabbing your kid for a photo. You have every right to ask if it's free or not. You're not forced to take a photo with bootleg grinch 😂❤
The first 15 mistakes in going to Las Vegas are all the same “going to Las Vegas in the first place.”
5:00 I take a pic with them and don’t pay them a damn dime. They can cause whatever scene they want. To me that’s part of the fun.
One note on sleep. If you don’t get the right amount of sleep your immune system will be weaker. Your immune system can drop as much as 90% with sleep deprivation 😅
Dont gamble. Stay away from them ladies and if someone tells you they love you, dont believe them.
I prefer to take out money as needed. Helps me stay on budget
I just left Vegas.. i thought it was like LA to where i could butn my flowers anywhere ....absolutely not
Weird question lol. Are there.. a lot of bathrooms in Las Vegas strip? I have a small bladder, and have to constantly use the bathroom. lol
Anything better then Tocos El Gordo in the LV?
Great tips I subscribed to your channel!
I didn’t see you drinking the Excalibur booze sword in your Excalibur videos! is it in a different one or not filmed? I wanted to see the yard sword 🗡️😆
It might be in some vegas food tour video
Have seen quite a few people cross over to the Walgreens' from that CVS by Park MGM. Dumb. I have never walked past Container Park at night. Before the upgrades on Fremont when a friend and i got past Heart Attack Grill we just looked forward and stopped. One extra mistake is not bringing comfortable shoes. The streets are longer than you think.
Yeah jaywalking there is dangerous. Fremont East is getting better. In 5 years i bet we walked right by container park with no worries haha
There two cities in US that pedestrian has no right the way and Vegas is one of it
