I never got into strong man, until I started watching the u80 and u105 guys, now I'm hooked and trying to switch from powerlifting to strongman. I just wish the squat was more important in the sport, but is what it is.

It's cool seeing 400lb guys being monsters. But seeing guys that weigh similar to me is really something.
I wonder if they cut weight for this. Seems like that would just thrash your strength and the dehydration would be a big injury risk. Edit: Answered around 53:00.

I've been watching these videos, for the masters 50+, the 40+, the women's competition, and now this one, the under 80kg, and 'm wondering a couple of things:
Does anyone know why they keep losing the camera feed? The camera on the floor will go out, and after a few seconds it is switched to the far camera across the room.
There have also been several incorrect names shown on screen during the rounds, with the last time I just saw in the round that ended just after the 15:33 point. The commentator read from right to left, and the countries were off, that's why I know the names were incorrect.
At 51:50, the dead lift rounds started, and it sounded like none of the commentators microphones were on. This has also happened a couple of other times over the past couple of days watching these competitions.
I don't know if this is RUclips itself, or if it is something from Official Strongman where the cameras and sound were having difficulties.
We didn't finish the whole video, stopped watching after the dead lifts, so I don't know if any other problems came up.

Very proud of these men for actually pressing on the overhead press. Jerking should be banned from strongman

I think it’s a good thing for anyone to be able to take up strongman as a “sport” regardless of their size…. But I agree 100% that it’s not a spectator sport! The point of WSM is watching giants compete. The analogy would be to set up a pro basketball league for men who must be under 5 foot 10. I’m sure there’s millions of phenomenal short b-ball players but no-one wants to watch it!
