It's better than Criken and his friends. I'm pretty sure they've only ever moved the sub at all in like two of their Barotrauma videos, and they've done a ton. There's a ton to do in this game without even moving the ship, especially when you play the mode that has traitors

The ship crushing Mark and Bob over and over again (30:00) becomes so much funnier when you realize it was literally just the auto pilot. The ship saw the opportunity to end them and it went for it
Im pretty sure the pumps on the ballast tanks were broken, and they were in the deeper part of the map where the current pushes you up. It happened to me a couple of times, basically the autopilot is trying to gain control but the holes in the ship are pulling you down while the current is pulling you up. So you just get stuck there fixing hull breaches and getting hull broken because of the constant slamming on the ground
@@exoticdachoo007 I think in this instance they just accidentally parked right on the thermal vent, which then proceeded to shoot them up, then the autopilot goes back down since it was told to stay there. That or just the holes in the ship causing it to go back down. Always love re-watching these Barotrauma videos, kinda sad they stopped playing it, it's a great game.
@@Andras0 I can understand why they did stop though, I heard the game is launching soon to full version so there is a chance they could experience it again. This time maybe they could try the hilarious voice chat or even try to beat the campaign as the most incompetent submarine crew ever hired

Its games like this when we see that bob is always, infallibiably, a really good leader. Like, bob is always great at helping everyone with everything and Mark is a really quick problem solver so he is great at the more technical stuff and wade is really good at following direction and doing the more brute work. And they all serve a really awesome place in each game and it's cool to see their dynamic work in more complicated games like these

Barotrauma was, by the dev's own admission, inspired by Space Station 13. SS13 is usually just as a zainy, fuck-around clusterfuck as Mark & friends were in this game. So by all means, devs must be happy, as this is probably the normal way Barotrauma is meant to be played.

I agree. The game is much more stable now, and there is SO much more content. This video is actually what got me into Barotrauma and I have periodically played it ever since. One of my favorite games of all time honestly. Somewhere in the top 5 I think.

If you guys play this again in the future, keep in mind that you can reach pressure that's "too deep" for the sub itself. This area is called the Abyss, and it usually found around 1,600 meters. When you're in the abyss, the navigation terminal will start pinging at you and there'll be a flashing red sign below the depth reading that says "DANGEROUS PRESSURE" The pressure in the abyss is high enough that diving suits no longer offer adequate protection, and the hull of the submarine itself will take continuous damage. Even deeper than the abyss is critical depths, found at 2,500 meters and below. Being in critical depths means that the sub may spontaneously implode at any moment, destroying almost everything in the sub and instantly killing most of the crew. Most maps abyssal/critical depths are found at the numbers I've listed here, 1,600-2,500 meters, however if a mission has you exploring a more vertical cave, the abyssal/critical depths will be much deeper, around 2,500-3,500 meters.
TL;DR- The sub isn't invulnerable to water pressure, only adding to the list of things you need to pay attention to in this game
