Quick note: the "enhanced horror" feature is what allows the game to track who's doing what and lets the "voices" speak to the players based on what they say or do.

@@Danganraptor Eh we have worse, there's supposedly a place in South Carolina (I think it was) posted on Tumblr (saw a video on posts) which was literally 3 shades of suspect. Devil's Trampling Ground I think it was called. People have tried to camp on it, when they woke up they were miles away, those who stayed up heard a melodic lullaby that made them fall asleep.

It's basically a "Urban" legend but the area is just dead due to parties etc etc which may be why people woke up yards or miles away lmao xD but still it's an actual spot and some believe that it's an actual area that people dare not go unless brave enough

you see those dev interactions that marks getting you only get those and I do mean it when I say only get those if you are a:
A. Really well-known person aka celebrity status
B. big Streamer
or C. Big RUclipsr
even then there's no guarantee mark will get a visit from them every video
you only get a very limited amount of missions that always repeat each other

4 skill sets with 4 skills
3 gears
9 DLC's (which are nothing but cosmetics) that are supposed to fund the development of the game whether or not they are using it for that idk
the tutorial is the prologue
(I'm talking about like a cinematic beginning not like what they show when you boot up dead by daylight or Friday the 13th or any other game
I'm talking there is a whole first level where you are in you're house and you go underground there are actual cutscenes and everything)
and if you beat the prologue you get an achievement the is called "The Disappearance" and the achievement details say "finish the intro" not "finish the tutorial"
which hints that the game may have an ending which I went to their official discord and they said there was none and will have no plans for it
there is so much lack of content in this game and they are charging 30 bucks for it
with the amount of content in the game, this game is maybe 14.99 and I think that's a bit generous but I wouldn't say more than 20
there's the stalker game mode which is pretty much just adding the ability for a fifth player to chase you around with a camera and that's literally it.
there are much better games for cheaper that could be made into a series but there is a reason mark only did 3 videos on this and that's because the game's community is actually dead even after mark played it and it's actually so boring when you've done all the missions and you're just repeating them over and over and over again
I have 13 hours on the game and the only reason I have that many is because I had actually thought the game had some sort of story progression and an actual ending to the game
I could have tolerated the repetitive missions had there been literally any kind of motivation for it
but there's not
you get barely anything from prestiging your characters
(no bonuses, no packs of stuff,
you literally get one clothing item that you can literally just get by saving up snacks which is an in-game currency that you get by doing literally any mission (and it's not like you don't get a lot because you do)
there is no ending
the game pretty much runs off lore which wouldn't have been a problem if they hadn't had a prologue because why go through the trouble of making an intro like that where
YOU, not some ai or some kind of movie no YOU THE PLAYER are in the house
YOU the player are escaping the shadowy figure
YOU the player are activating actual cutscenes they put in the game
YOU the player are getting dragged away in yet another cutscene in the game which then fades into the abandoned train that sets up the story to have an actual ending that the dev's have said is never going to come.
and before anyone says I'm being too picky or whatever there is almost every single bad review on steam is talking about all this because there's a lot of people like me who got hooked onto the prologue hoping that you could finish the game's story and have an actual fulfilling ending to Blackout Club only to find out that's not going to happen.
TLDR:
a lot of people got hooked onto the prologue hoping there would be an ending to the game but that was confirmed not going to happen
and this can't be a series because the game so boring after a couple hours because it lacks content and a lot of it for the game being on steam for 29.99
and the only fun thing is when the devs mess with your game which you have to be either well known and a huge content creator
that and even after mark put this video up the community is still dead
@@shazukiishtar2503 jeez talk about buyer's remorse, you even repeated yourself like 3 or 5 times throught that essay. It's functionally no different from other objective survival games (L4D, Last Year etc.) and puts a few twists that make it stand out. If you like that sort of thing, you'll enjoy it. If you don't like that sort of thing, then why'd you invest so much into something that wasn't what it was? It really does honestly sound like you expected this to be a single player rpg horror rather than a multiplayer objective survival and did either no research ahead of time or didn't care to.
@@HuchiaZ and left for dead doesnt have a *real* ending either, and its still a fuckin classic. it had a great story and intro, but it had no ending, i mean technically it does but you dont know what happens after the l4d2 people go to new orleans.
I love that the developers interact with the players. When they toyed with wade it was just great. This is what games need more of live interactions that are different for everyone.

This was honestly just the beginning, theres a whole "hidden" lore with the different gods/voices, and they generally do actually speak, and answer questions/comment on what people are doing...
In one case I saw SPEAK-AS-ONE (the enemy) give advise to a stalker, on how to best get the players killed xD

@@baldmartin1355 the "enhanced horror" option lets vioce actors join your game and send you those creepy messages they saw, they can also speak to you.. watch IGP play and he literally says as a joke that he offers his friend as sacrifice and the messages start demanding that the friend be sacrificed since that was the deal.
I"m really glad Markiplier played this game, i've been hoping it gets more notice because of how much the developers do with it
When I last played this, a "GOD" teleported my friend an I to the moon and started asking us a bunch of philosophical questions. The Devs have some neat interactions with their players :D

I'd like it if they played the tutorial because it explains the whole point of the story.
Join TBC means Join The Blackout Club it's a call to other children to join their resistance. The job is to save the adults and missing children and find out what's causing the trouble.
Its easier to understand if they focused more on stealth and being quiet. You want to be attentive to the small things you see around, like the posters and looking at the "evidence" as well as listening to the sleep walkers when they talk.
They should definitely play the Prologue. Maybe as individual videos on their channels, since it's single player
dude an ant you really can’t expect them to do tutorials, Mark always jumps head first into games & skips tutorials when possible.

When you "die" in any way, a face appears over you and you wander around. Your character will then act like an NPC enemy until a healthy player sneaks up behind and revives you.
If you die 3 times, you are removed from the game instead of Suppressed.
*THE SHAPE*
THE SHAPE spawns once you have enough naughty points and goes after the player who has the most, ignoring everybody else. He will instantly change targets if somebody else becomes the most naughty.
If The Shape reaches his target, they will be Suppressed and he will chase after the next-naughtiest.
If he bumps into you and you're not the most naughty, you get stunned for a second.
*SIN*
You will receive naughty points if:
- Sleepers or Lucids hear you or your Drone
- You use a Prank Call
- You Remote Disarm a security camera
- A Lucid, The Shape, or a Suppressed player sees you or your Drone
- You break out of a Grapple
- A camera sees you
- You Takedown somebody
- An enemy discovers a corpse or tranquilized enemy
- An enemy discovers a kicked-in door
*THE STALKER*
When you get to level 5, you get Dark Souls Mode.
A player can invade your game. This "Stalker" can report corpses and kicked-in doors, and can also slowly give you naughty points just by recording you passively. However, the Stalker also notifies all players present when a recording is made.
Stalkers can't invade solo players. Only one Stalker can invade per game.
If you help take down a Stalker, you'll get a Dossier, allowing you to invade somebody else as a Stalker.
*ENHANCED HORROR EXPERIENCE*
Any player who has this turned on is gettin' snooped on by the game developers. Sometimes they'll have a professional come in and roleplay a Voice for that player.
These conversations can be recorded, edited, and used in future EHE interactions. They cherry-pick the ones that push the story along the way that they want.
The developers and their Voice performers cannot hear, and will completely ignore, any individual player in the game who does not have EHE enabled.

Well, 'killed' is general gamer talk for 'this one is down and not a threat for the rest of the game'. Lots of games incapacitate enemies and never wake them up, hence the question of 'dead dead?' and not 'knocked out dead?'

This video came out the exact day my school was told that we needed to quarantine because of COVID. Coming back almost exactly a year later gives me so many memories even though it wasn't even that long ago. The happiness that Mark, Bob, Wade, and Jack have brought me over the past year from just watching their daily uploads has helped me so much and I can't thank them enough for what they do for all of us every day. Thank you guys.

That's not a coincidence. That's one of the Voices, they're actual people who pop into people's games and chat with them. Some speak in text you see with your eyes closed, some speak out loud. Each of them has a story, and their own opinions about the others.

This reminds me of “The Edge of Sleep” a bit. Like how all the people are being possessed of some sorts, as they are “asleep” But in this case the demon can take you while you’re awake. It’s a neat game.

It’s not, actually. The Shape is just an AI. It’s not even what talks to you. The words on the screen was the Voice known as SPEAK-AS-ONE talking to them.

Edit: After reading the Wiki- I can probably confirm that SA1 (Speak as One) was the Voice speaking to them. SA1 refers to themselves usually in plural form and uses they a lot so that makes sense that they said “Little Skerm names US.”
