I always wonder about the people close to the stage during those lip-synced/canned performances. While I can imagine if the band is (and they almost certainly are) really picking the strings on the guitars and and Lynott and co. are really singing, the volume of the played recording is so loud they can't hear them as long as the performers are careful. What a great band! Considering what a big hit that "the boys are back in town" was here in the US, It blows my mind that they weren't more popular here stateside. Such a injustice. They were truly ahead of their time. Great players, and Phil wrote fantastic songs.
Yes, they ran into some unfortunate problems. Phil got Hepatitis and they wound up cancelling much of the Jailbreak tour. Then I think it was the following tour (Johnny The Fox) when Robbo got into a bad physical fight with someone and messed his hand up. Gary Moore returned and stayed long enough for The Black Rose album, but he didn’t want to be around the drugs, which was starting to take a toll on the band.
Those of us who didn't have the albums and only heard Thin Lizzy on the radio in the 70s didn't really know Thin Lizzy or what a kick as rock band that they were. Some people thought they pnly had 2 songs.

Falou e disse! !!! Forte abraço ❤
Outstanding 🎸 🥁 🎤
Thank you for uploading this. I’m a huge fan of this band I’ve been listening to them for a year now I play them consistently Chinatown is by far my favorite Thin Lizzy album. One of my favorite rock bands rest in paradise Phil❤️
I just found out two minutes ago....9/23
Wish i could hear We Will Be Strong and Sugar Blues!! Also Renegade, No One Told Him, its Getting Dangerous, The Pressure Will Blow. Play anything from Renegade, Chinatown, Black Rose albums!!
Sugar Blues… 🤩
Great tune.
Always liked this album, Snowy White was/is such a great guitarist, not to depreciate Scott in any way but Snowys solo on this is really fantastic.
I saw them in 1980 on this tour....Tues night..December....Aberdeen NJ....love them...RIP Philo
I didn't remember the MS lasting into the 80s. I really liked thin lizzy! I'm guessing I'm part Irish because I still look for a battle axe to grab and defend my apartment from the english everytime I hear Emerald,Massacre, Rose of Dublin and others blasting from my stereo!
Yea,. I grew up in BR. about 2 miles from miss. river and the ms wasn,t on network tv in that one horse town, cause my ole man worked shift work, so every other weekend could stay up all night, maybe we were too stoned.
This entire record kicks... :)
Waaaay underrated!
Indeed... Another seriously underrated Lizzy record IMO is "Fighting"... solid and awesome guitar parts on the songs between Gorham and Robertson... @@michaelschmidt9708
大好きな歌なので聴けてよかったです!観られてよかったです!
The Drumming 🥁 on this China Town Track was phenomenal! 💪 👍
This was on midnight special ? As a kid I would have stayed up to see this! Now 40 years later I still love it!
Has there ever been a better band with two lead guitarists? And that bass can not be beat. RIP Phil. Thin Lizzy will live forever.
Be sure to check out Scott Gorham's successor band, Black Star Riders.
Black Star Riders don’t amount to a zit on Thin Lizzy’s ass. Ricky Warwick? You have got to be joking.
Glenn and KK from Judas Priest for sure.
I like ‘April Wine’ 🇨🇦 🍁
ABB, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Henry Paul Band, on and on.
When some say Sykes and Thunder and Lightening were better I say BS! Chinatown Renegade blow T&L away! But it's a good album just not a Lizzy album.
Wow !!! Great quality here.
I prefer the earlier appearance from TMS March ‘77 with GM replacing BR
after his hand injury…. That was a smokin’ band!!
LOVE this song!!!! Best Thin Lizzy song.......EVER!!!!
Snowy - massively underrated
What a band! Wonderful drums, and great everything else! Eat your heart out Take That!😂
I saw them in Cardiff, 1973, 3 piece with Gary M on guitar. Phenomenal
Love ❤this song and especially thin Lizzy 😮
I almost lost it when some kid at work was singing that song he heard in a movie redone by Bon Jovi yuk! I told him THAT'S THIN LIZZY KID!
@@elvinposey5251 🤣
Remember this vividly...saw this US tour...unfortunately the last
Amo a ese grupo.
Fantastiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic
Those of us who didn't have the albums and only heard Thin Lizzy on the radio in the 70s didn't really know Thin Lizzy or what a kick as rock band that they were. Some people thought they pnly had 2 songs.
I remember this video!! This band was ahead of its time!! 😮
Been a long time since I first heard (china town),
But heard it on the radio and dug the disc out, and haven't stopped playing it,
Awesome and fantastic then saw this on Utube... Brilliant
Really love the heavy guitars on Thunder n Lightning tracks too.
Edit: "h"eavy

This day why this great hard-rocking band is not in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame just absolutely blows my mind come on Hall pull your head out of your asses and put these guys in.
They had such a great sound!!!!!
if you like lizzy you have a first class ticket to great rock music
This is so GOOD!!!
Love the overall presentation, but especially Lynott's stage presence how he plays and holds the bass 👍🎸🎶🎵
This is Music
Classic
