Don't apply the wax in circles. Circles don't allow your hand to apply even pressure on the applicator pad, and that leads to uneven disbursement of the wax. Look at how the top of your swirls are whiter from more wax deposits and the bottom half of the swirls are darker from less. Apply in a north/south or east/west motion to avoid this. It also saves you more work during the buffing process.
+A gm (snowman) i thought the same, hurts my heart to see this guy use so much wax on the first coat. thin coats not plaster it on or you will use all your wax or have uneven surface
When you using a woolpad on the paint its getting little scratches in de paint when used a rotary polisher like you have. But you need to step it up to a second polish with a DA to remove any scratches, swirls, hotburns, and give it a IPA wipe down before getting the wax going on.
Power cord over the shoulder to prevent scratching or upgrade to cordless. Could be wrong but aren’t there applicators for the buffer? Attach application pad, apply wax, when done remove applicator attach buffer pad and buff. Yes/No?
Michael Zak is correct....put polish on the cloth buffer to apply to the paint, then buff off (I do this by hand with a micro-fiber cloth) I then buff the polish with a difference cloth ''If needed'' and then apply wax and buff off by hand....do this panel by panel. What I usually do then is hit it up very gently By HAND over the whole car with a fresh microfiber to ensure I didnt miss anything ;) Just a tip! If your really motivated you can put two coats of wax on your car. I use turtle wax btw
You use the pad to remove any dust particles that might be on the car, you wash the car and drive it home were you are going to buff it so on that trip your car will have small traces of dust on it. And the second time you use the cloth is to remove lint from the buffing.
Hi can you answer my question bro? After the shine from the wax or polish dry's will there inevitably be swirl marks? I've always Wanted to buff my car but I'm afraid it causes swirl marks
Wax is not the same thing as polish! You get swirl marks from polishing your car and not holding the rotating head perpendicular to the paint and also using to high rpm on the polishing machine.
I used to use that type of buffer years ago. I'd use a terrycloth bonnet to apply swirl removers or cleaner waxes, and remove by hand. I kind of miss the simplicity of those machines.
Just had to ask why you had the cord rubbing the side of car and kept yanking on it shouldn't it have been over the shoulder out of the way. Why didn't you pop the hood to protect the edges when you were tilting the polisher when it was to be flat to avoid burning @ 2200 rpm,
That's only really necessary with high speed rotary buffers. The tool he's using is a random orbit polisher. The random orbital is designed to mimic hand movement. Although, when you get into something like a variable speed Porter-Cable 7424xp, yeah, I've burned through edges with that thing on speed 6. He'd have to sit on that edge for a week, with an aggressive pad, and compound to achieve strike through.
what happens to the dried wax on the machine!!. i heard that wool pads are for compounding not even polishing. waxing off with wool pad screams swirls to me
dried wax is removed with microfiber cloth and for the second part of your question swirls are obtain at higher rpm then the rpm that can be reached with a buffing machine like the one in the video. swirls are the result of bad technique plus rps and always make the difference between waxing and polishing
Do I need to use a microfiber cloth to remove dust particles before waxing and polishing? I don't want to spend the cash, so would it be OK to use an old dish rag instead? Thanks for the tip on always using gloves, though, it makes all the difference I'm sure. BTW, don't pay attention to the haters bashing you for dragging the cord of your buffer on the paint; paint is harder than the plastic of the cord. It won't scratch. It's called science, duh!
+Lars Dahl u must be trolling :) If u can buy polish and wax, sure 5 €/$ for a microfibre wont hurt that much. But i guess you dont even know what polishing is meant to do, cant see how u can polish with no microfibre to wipe polish?
Ahmed Abdulla personal experience a dual action polisher is a better overall option as it can do both easier and safer but I use the same as he does. A foam heading is my personal favorite and it doesn't get as hot. But if you wax with the wool like he is just move the thing around with applying minimum to no pressure because it can burn the paint.
why put wax on then use a cutting wheel to buff it off, that pad is designed to cut the paint with polish, the wax is supposed to go on after to seal and protect the polishing stage, all this has done is mask the swirls & scratches with wax and then buffed with a machine instead of just using a cloth, strange technique, give it a couple of washes and it will look the same as before....
should ALWAYS keep that orbital polisher flat to the paints surface. I noticed several times you lited the unit up to polish on the front tip on the pad. This is very bad for paint , It creates a hotspot and can actualy damage the paint
I am wondering if a lot of these guys showing how to buff a car are actually reading the product's instructions? Most of the buffing, rubbing compounds are recommended to be used in shaded areas, specifically, when doing dark colored cars. Suggestion, watch the youtube instructions HOWEVER, you need to read the instructions on the product that you are planning to use.
i can bet you that paint is swirled in the sun, wool pads are made as a cutting pad for compound not for any sort of finishing. No need to use a machine to remove wax if you use good wax it should come off easily.
@@craigmail6994 nooo....always let the machine do the work! ...I know this an old ass comment but for future reference in case some one else has this same question! :)
This is a joke right??? I'm waiting for someone to jump out of the background and say, now this is exactly what you don't do and this is not the buffer you would ever use. I didn't even know they sold those cheap buffers anymore but may K-Mart does the last time I seen one they were $19.95 And they are not capable of removing ANY imperfections from the paint.
*Good **MyBest.Tools** power and rpm control.*

Nice video, but you need to talk and explain and cut that crap annoying background music.
A gm Come to think of it you are right. The video was nice but not all that helpful.
Warner Athey we will do a remake and give all the explication needed : )
+A gm (snowman) i thought the same, hurts my heart to see this guy use so much wax on the first coat. thin coats not plaster it on or you will use all your wax or have uneven surface
It was good at the start
i just love how the wire touches the car, great video man!
What a weird comment
Oh My God !!! the power cable on the paint........
😱😱😱

Awesome vid. Just looking to see what kinda job a auto buffer does and I can tell a pretty awesome quick job
Thanks 👍
Why not apply the wax with the polisher instead of by hand?
what kind of polish did you use first to get the shine? Wax is a protection not a polish. A
Why am I watching this I'm 12
Your video is very nice. It's great seeing you have great success polishing your auto
+MAD_aircooled_66 Thank you!
+belyeu4190 it is very nice
One thing is still unclear: after how many uses do you put all that fancy equipment (starting with the pad) in the garbage?
where do u find whool bonnets? for a 900 waxmaster? thanks, great job!
Power cord over the shoulder to prevent scratching or upgrade to cordless. Could be wrong but aren’t there applicators for the buffer? Attach application pad, apply wax, when done remove applicator attach buffer pad and buff. Yes/No?
Is that a Wen polisher? If not what brand! Like your video.
You can clearly see the difference in the shine. Nice job.
Thank you!
Really enjoyed the intro and EDM throughout the very informative video. Love it boss

Nooooooo! This should be called "how to shine your hood and scratch the fuck out of your wings at the same time!"
incredible!
Is it better if you leave the wax on for a long while?

+Kevin Perry On wool pads you never go above 1000 - 1200 depending on how accustomed to use this type of pad.

NEVER let the cord drag on the car. That;s a NO NO!!!
that's right! the cord could have dirt or grit on it and its like a file on your paint. I always put the cord over my shoulder.

This video should be called watch me polish my car.
Should be noted to never wax in the sun and only on cool surfaces. Always wax in the shade on cooler days.
Z1LTCH - Unless you're a mobile detailer, and/or using products that can be used in the sun.
Can any one tell me this polisher name
Two words, "Cherry crush."
thanks supper vidio
what did you plug the polisher into? your in the middle ona the woods
there's a building behind him. look at the reflection of the hood

Never run buffer with a dry pad no wax or polish. You will burn the paint, though the RPM's on your buffer looks slow.
The best wax
What doyou think about Road Made products?especially their solid wax?
Thanks
sevastian botoghina It's a Carnauba based product, this means that you won't have any problems with it. The price is ok so i would use it
I bought one of those in auto zone never again now I own a dewalt cordless polisher
NEVER let touch power cord the car paint! NEVER!!!
Esta es una clara muestra de como NO encerar tu auto......jajaja
Now that's how you wax a car! Great video...
get a decent buffer for god sake...any decent random orbital
rex dumont what you mean ?
Look up griots or rupes orbitals

can I use the same machine for both polishing and waxing?

chris ward which pads do you recommend?
Foam pads or microfiber?

no use grandes rotaciones en el pulidor

Maybe start with a car that doesn’t already have a pristine finish..😐
Anyone know what kind of wax to use? New to this and now I know not to let the cord touch the car by the comments lol

+opelpedia I known it's a waxing vidoe :) you have a rotary polisher though :)
+Paige Harvey its a Stern CP240A+

you won't have any benefit, it will be just harder to buff off and get that perfect shine.

Michael Zak so how would u do it? do tell do tell
Cut and protect at the same time?
Tells us to micro fibre the car for any dust
Then drags the lead all over the paint 🤣🤣🤣
When water beads on your car you just have to pour water on it to dry it
Right off the bat you blew it by removing the dust with a rag (microfiber or not). Get a California Duster dude.
+Damon Hearne the paint from the car in the video is 7 years old if microfiber would produce scratches it would be visible by now.
that's what your wife said damon
+Damon Hearne Also right of the bat he scratched his fender with the electric cord of the polisher
+Johan Sving actually i didn't, sorry to disappoint you!
Damon Hearne California Dusters aren't immune from scratching either if the right dirt is on them.
lol someone help this kid
Thank you
Village polish machine
This is how NOT to wax your car.
tmrthiago why ?
Because he's going over it so much he's pretty much burning off the cars factory clear coat
A micro fiber towel suits it just fine
Wesley Kleveter he won't burn the clear coat unless he stays in one area too long.
Okcboi ....hes buffing way to much ... with the wrong type of pad...hes burning his clear coat
Surely it's not a good idea to wax the The window

waxing with wool pads? wool pads its for cutting wtf?! please dont make me cry :D swirlomatic ;)
Janusz z Sebixowa waxing with a wool pad isn't gonna do anything bad as long as you keep it moving and apply little pressure
Too much product? Circular motion mmmm straight lines better?
Would be quicker using a microfibre towel to remove the wax
you use for too much wax, and you do not need to do small circles with paste wax.
Allen Kennedy what do you recommend, instead of circles when applying paste. Thx u
Allen Kennedy this guy 😂😂
starting back washing cars and time to go forward to building my own car wash business
I can guarantee you that paint is horribly swirled.
do you add pressure when you wax or just do it gently and soft
