- Caileigh is a 9th grader at Treasure Mountain Junior High in Park City, Utah.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
Keep talking sweetheart, that confidence of yours needs to be heard more often. We need more young generation people like you. Chin up and don't sweat the small stuff :). You are very brave to have gone on that stage and I honour that bravery on your part. Keep doing what you do and the rest will work out with divine timing.

Wow! What a powerful speech! I am 50 years old and have been jobless for 9 months as I struggle to find a job. I am struggling to live as my financial situation becomes dire, my confidence level has gone below ground zero and I have transformed into a total introvert! Suicide is possibly the only way out. But I am struggling to hold on and be strong and I will try to gain back my self confidence bit by bit as I know I am capable of so much more in this world - after listening to this!

Just saw your message. Thank you for caring although we are 2 strangers apart probably on either end of the world. I have been strong. I took up a job out of desperation 3 months ago - not something I enjoy. It get me by for now and I have received a decent salary. Am slowly clearing my debts and start to have enough money to feed myself properly. I will survive and hope to be better by year end! Thank you again for your kind words. I am so touch and emotional to know that you made me aware that I am priceless!

HI Andrea! Thank you for your comments. It's sad to know that there are other people out there who (including you) who's finding it hard to get a job. Be strong, you can survive the hardship. So interesting to know you are trying to sell your drawings as a mean to survive. You can do it! I have found a job although it's not what I really want but 5 months into it now, I am more stable, manageable and livelier.
Both as a teacher and as an individual who has suffered from lack of confidence all his life (I'm 28!), I wish to say that this talk is incredibly inspiring, optimistic, and helpful. The way Caileigh Lydon delivered this talk feels honest, self-and-socially aware, and therefore, true. I have watched many boost-your-confidence videos - this one is my favorite.

Key to the self confidence is practice? What? To me self confidence can be gained by realizing that I'm not perfect and no body else is, I just share what I want to share and do best what I want to do and let it flow, no need to be perfect, no need to be awesome, no need to "change the world". That's the real self confidence, keep telling myself I'm an awesome world changer is just like wearing a mask and once reality hits me every flaw that I have will blow out.
