In vaudville, her act would have been called a "dumb dora," much the same as Gracie Allen and Lucielle Ball, though there were others. It is a difficult role to play, and she played it well, up there with the best of them. It is very important to remember that this kind of roll requires skill, dedication, and a measure of brilliance. She had them all. In the end, the world fell in love with her character, and that is the highest measure of success one could ask for.

I absolutely cannot find a proper interview with her. I absolutely loved ‘Alice’ on VOD. I wanted to see an interview with Emma to kinda shave of that ‘ditzyness’ I only ever seen with Alice. Because she died and I owed it to her to see her in her own person. This wee snippet showed me she is an average person, if not bright.

How sad that two fine comedy actors, Charlotte Coleman and Emma Chambers, both in similar British films made for the American market (Four Weddings and Notting Hill), should both have died so tragically young.😢🇬🇧
