I just purchased this from kmart yesterday and I watched this video before using it and I was so worried that I'd just purchased a piece of rubbish. Well I was wrong and I think you should return yours because it doesn't seem to work as well as mine does. I just did a poached egg and toast and it was cooked to perfection and I only pressed the toast and egg button once. What I did differently to you was i wiped the tiniest amount of butter in the little egg cup and when I cracked the egg, I also broke the yoke. I am one of those people that will gag if there is any uncooked egg yolk. The egg was firm and frigging delicious. I also put 2 pieces of ham and a piece of cheese on the grate that goes above the egg cooker. I just had the most delicious ham, egg and cheese sambo I have ever eaten and it took less that 5 mins in total. I am stoked!

When the water pan gets dirty, it will cause of water hardness and meat/egg drippings. Just cycle it through with vinegar, it'll wipe off easily.

@@Actionronnie hi, may I ask a question about cleaning the heating tray after use? It seems the heating tray which holds water can't be removed separately, so do I need to use a towel to wipe the left water every time? Thank you

Something wrong here. I've used it for a number of years. I'm able to put plenty of water in and hard boil eggs and leave it alone and it'll hard boil eggs without leaving any water left over. I've never had to keep pressing the button. Too much water and it'll overflow. I also turn out perfect egg from the little pan. I think a little oil helps though. Definitely underdone for some reason.

It also does a half can or 200ml of baked beans now. They came out near perfect. They now say bacon and sausage must be cooked another way as this machine is only designed to 'reheat' cooked bacon, sausage and tomatoes nowadays. etc.

Excellent. You've talked me out of it 🤣. As someone who has studied food science and puts pride and love into their food(only on a home/ameture level anyways), this contraption seems insufficient and morning is the wrong time to be so disappointed with breakfast 🤣

I wore out my first one. Second one is still going strong. I have a lot of nights that I don't get to sleep so it's not uncommon to see me in my kitchen between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
I had to move from one state to another about a year ago and almost everything I own got put in storage. I was too ill at the time to be able to help. When I finally got an apartment and brought all my stuff from the storage shed there I found out no one cleaned anything before they packed it and put it in the rental truck. Finally the day came when I opened the box it had been in. I saw it and thought I was going to have to throw it away. I tried dish soap, steel wool, efferdent and was about to give up because it was lunch time. I pushed it aside and started looking through my cupboards for something to eat and then the answer revealed itself. Apple cider vinegar. I didn't know if it would work or do damage or do nothing so I poured a little onto a wash cloth and tried wiping the cooking tray. I couldn't believe my eyes. It started to come clean. So, I poured some into the cooking tray and let it soak for a little while. As I was waiting, I found a small plastic bucket with a lid. I put all the rest of the loose pieces in it and completely covered them with the vinegar and let them soak a day or two then pulled them out and wiped them down with a wash cloth. After they were done I dipped the cloth in the vinegar and wiped up the toaster. I then took the parts that had been soaked and washed them with dish soap. And now I'm a very happy camper.

It's a great thing, been using one twice weekly for 10 years. I just don't use it for boiled egg.
If you use it correctly you get a egg sandwich in 5/7 minutes.
Use precooked meats (never raw meats, It's for warming only) in the tray at the same time as cooking the poached egg and toast.
If you don't use the measurement cup for the correct amount of water, you will almost never get a good result.
If the egg light turns off, it's one of three things.
    1-its cooked
    2-not enough water
    3-its faulty

I had one of these a decade ago but lost track of it. They are so much harder to find now, there are some on amazon but they're only made by pricier brands. This is so ingenious!

Your unit is 100% faulty. You shouldn't need to turn it on like that, over & over. Mine cooks everything just right. As far as the meat tray, I believe it's more designed for ham & such. Raw bacon (at least the white, fat bit) will never be nice if steamed, but ham and meat like that are moist and tender. Hint on fried/poached egg is to oil or butter the pan. HTH

A waste of time and money. Better just using an ordinary toaster and cook eggs, bacon, and beans in a pan on the stove or microwave. Quicker and less hassle.
