What a cool historic place to have travelled too! The burial mounds, ruin stones and church are so interesting!

What a great place to find and explore. Viking history is so popular these days. We visited the Viking museum in Iceland. Another spot to put on my list of places to visit

Definitely! Vikings are fascinating - we spent about six weeks in Scandinavia and their history is everywhere.

Denmark does look really interesting, looks like you had great weather as well. Thanks to King Harald Bluetooth for not only uniting the tribes of Denmark but also his early work on mobile phones.

Fly Drive Explore the bluetooth technology is actually named after Harald Bluetooth.

      😂
I think we were quite lucky with the weather in Denmark, apparently it was one of the hottest Mays on record! Everyone in Copenhagen was out sunbathing, and I don't blame them!

Interesting! To be honest, I don't have much knowledge about Denmark, so everything was you explained was so new and usuefull. When did you go there? it looked like a summer day?

This was in mid-May, but summer definitely came early to Scandinavia this year!

I love discovering new World Heritage sites. Those mounds look similar to ones I've seen in South Korea.

Quite similar I think, yes - there's definitely a few mounds of various sorts on the List!

Very fascinating. It's not quite true that the jellinge stones have the first recorded mentioning of "Denmark" though. Alfred the Great of wessex mentions "Denamearc" in the late 9th century. And as an ethnic group danes were descriped as early as the 6th century. For example by Procopius of Caesarea.

It seems you're right, good pick-up! I was basing my info on what was written on the signs nearby, though it seems I forgot the "within Denmark" qualification. Apologies for the goof :)

Very interesting. The stone carvings behind you are intriguing, Do you know what the meaning of that infinite knot could be?

    • @WorldHeritageJourney

I think it's part of the design around the carving of Jesus, though it's quite faded and difficult to see.

This was really fascinating. I saw the two hill and I was like where’s the old castle or church. Lol. This was really interesting. The painting of Christ is also interesting.

Noted, appreciate the correction! I do my best but I'm not always spot on with the pronounciations 😉 Thanks for watching!
