@@sndr1384 I got as far as installing the unit and getting it running, tomorrow's mission is the reverse camera and DAB so will be revisiting this again!
Helpful, mostly for which canbus to select as the list is long. I have a Vauxhall, so the steering wheel is on the other side, when I removed the glovebox I had lots of room to guide the wire bundle to the left side and up, this way the cable was long enough. Also the bracket that gets mounted I made a big hole in the centre, this allowed much better access to route the cables to the back of the unit. I just left the little speaker with the gps antenna in the area behind the screen and everything seems to work fine.
Well done! I've recently installed a reversing camera, I'll get an android head unit next year! For all those that want to make it easier to position the camera, If you undo all the bolts related to the badge panel (x4 I think, might be 7/8mm spanner), go carefully because there are some plastic clips that need pinching together before it will move. They are bright yellow and you might be able to do what I did and poke them from inside the metal work so they don't break with a long thin screwdriver. Be careful as you don't want to crack the glass! As you slowly lift it off, unclip all the wires from the number plate illumination lights and it will come completely free of the car. While your there, get a wet cloth and give everything a bloody good clean because it will be grimy! I marked a groove smack in the centre above where the wire can pass through just above the number plate, and then drilled two holes and screwed the camera to this whole plastic assembly. much easier than try messing with the lights. In the future, if i want to install a different camera, I'll just remove this plate again and make the swap.

Dank je voor de reactie. De DAB+ module is bedacht voor het gebruiksgemak. Zelf zou ik mij prima redden met internet radio maar mijn vrouw is niet echt handig hierin. Met de dab module dacht ik dat het dan hetzelfde werkt als met de standaard radio. Als het te ingewikkeld wordt weet ik dat ze het niet meer gaat gebruiken. Ze gaat vooral de radio, carkit en navigatie gebruiken. Verder zal ze er niets mee doen verwacht ik.

My problem has been partially solved. The canbus version installed on the device is GM-RZ-09. I also tried compatible tools. When I chose Chevrolet Cruz, the buttons and lights worked.

I also noticed that on the front panel that was used for the old radio the arrows to search for stations do not work, only the wheel works to change stations and then the number 2 button instead of making you hear a station sends you to stand by the screen darkening it

Hi, great video and all works great except it seems to forget all my presets overnight. Looks like it's all setup correctly but I'm gussing it doesn't have standby power overnight and then forgets the presets. Do they not have an internal battery. Any help would be great. Thanks
Hey, I'm sorry I don't have that problem. Mine keeps the settings. Maybe in the settings? Something like a standby mode that you have to activate. Otherwise ask the vendor.

are you getting a warning in the screen when you open the door? If not, u are missing a cable. Ask the vendor for this problem, and hopefully they will send you the right cable.
If you replace the original radio, you will loose all the functions of the orignal radio. so no more cd player and no more fm radio. FM radio is build into the radio, but i would suggest using an app like spotify, that's the whole reason I replaced it (and for Waze). If you are really a radiohead, there is an app for that too! :) For the console, it should work when the correct cables are installed. Don't know what to say more that can help, sorry.

If you open the door or change the temperature, does that show up on screen? If not, not all cables including the steering wheel are connected. I've asked for an extension cable, that I show (the really long orange wire) that takes care of that. The blue wire is just a piece of electrical wire, that I use to guide the cables trough the small holes. Otherwise it's almost impossible or you pull the wires apart.
Do the original stereo buttons still work in most functions. I suspect you will lose some of them but is volume still used and skip track etc if your using apple car play apps like Spotify
sorry but have you checked if we can still use the aux input of the car? because maybe that is connected directly to the speakers not the original radio that was mounted before, so we can probably still use it
Like I explained, there was a real short wire that was too short to connect it too the radio, so I asked for an extension. It took care some options like steeringwheel control and door opening and closing.
Hello again Sand. I have one more doubt. On the harness that connects to the car's original 44 pin is a pink wire that terminates in a medium black 8 pin female connector. Do you have to connect it to the 8-pin male that was on the car's original screen? Is it connected to another site? Or you don't have to connect it. Thank you for your patience and greetings.
@T McQ For me this is in the car settings. The help section pulls up other options this is one of them, as I need to swap doors for RH drive version. Not figured out the electric seats yet though?

Hallo! Na maanden bevalt het nog echt prima. Ik zou de kabel vragen dan kun je altijd door. Ik moest alles installeren, en daarna weer alles open maken voor de langere kabel. De achteruitrijcamera valt reuze mee als je mijn stappen volgt. Ik ben een kantoor knuppel met twee linkerhanden maar als ik het kan kun jij het ook!

@@ottimo1042 Hi! It seems like you haven't put all cables correctly in. When you open the door does that give you a image on the screen? if not. not all cables are installed. Ik heb net een Mokka 2013 diesel automaat aangeschaft en ben zwaar teleurgesteld in de navigatie. Overweeg dus om met jouw video als leidraad een Android auto mogelijkheid in te bouwen. Zit nog met 2 vragen. Hoeveel GB adviseer je? en de belangrijkste. Zit het scherm visueel niet enorm in de weg?
Hey Focko! Bedankt! Ik had hetzelfde als jij, er was geen fatsoenlijke video te vinden, dus ik dacht ik maak er zelf een voor anderen. Het inbouwen is echt niet moeilijk. Ik kan het en heb twee linkerhanden. Hoeveel gb? De meeste, altijd doen. Goedkoop is duurkoop, de apps draaien anders langzaam of helemaal niet en dan wil je het scherm uit het raam gooien van frustratie. (Zie mijn opel Astra video) En het scherm zit totaal niet in de weg. Succes met de aankoop en als je vragen hebt stel ze gerust!
Question regarding the reverse camera. Did you connect the camera to another power supply and earth or did you just connect it to the radio ? My camera has yellow Video and two wires red and black wires and at the radio end yellow Video and pink and two blue wires 🤔
Did you watch my video? I have a whole section about the rear view camera. I hooked it up to the radio. If you want to know more, watch my Astra video on the camera. Different car but same principle. Hope that helps!

I installed waze and maps as my navigation. I didn't have dab. Just download a radio app, always perfect audio. Yes you will lose the cd player, but who uses that? Just use Spotify or connect a usb stick with mp3

Hi Hans, De achterkant heeft een extra plastic kap die er precies overheen past. Je ziet dus niet dat er ooit iets anders heeft gezeten. Tja het is wat groter dan het origineel, maar dat was juist de bedoeling 😆

Hi Hans, Mijn reden om hem in te bouwen was inderdaad het waardeloze systeem van Opel (100 euro voor een kaart update, doei, waze/maps is gratis!) Ja de cd-spelersleuf wordt waardeloos, maarja waarom zou je die nog gebruiken? Met apps zoals Spotify of Deezer heb je voldoende lijkt mij. Ik krijg ook opmerkingen dat de radio-ontvangst niet zo goed meer is, maar dan denk ik ook, download een radio app en je hebt altijd de beste kwaliteit! En laat je niet afschrikken door het inbouwen, alle onderdelen zitten met clipjes of schroeven vast, dus 'kapot' maken kan niet echt, en ik ben een kantoorknuppel met 2 linkerhanden. Als ik het kan, kan jij het ook! Succes!

I am having a similar issue to that described above. However if I turn the ignition off remove the key, then open the door the head unit turns off (same as with the old system, and above it appears). If I then leave the car for a few minutes then re-insert the key and turn to the ACC position, the head unit reboots Android, my question is does yours do this? The old system retained the last known input i.e., radio so would just start on this. I would also be interested in your Canbus settings and module? Many thanks.

Hey! Na een jaar nog helemaal tevreden. Alles werkt prima, geen problemen. Zoals gezegd, bestel een extra lange kabel erbij die van mij was te kort. Ik denk omdat deze Radio universal is (en een frontje specifiek voor je type auto) en ze er standaard kabels bij doen. Maar omdat de radio op het dashboard zit ipv ervoor zijn deze aan de krappe kant. Ik zou niet weten waarom je dab+ wil doen, internetradio werkt veel beter. Als laatste altijd de radio bestellen met de meeste Ram en geheugen. Een goedkopere werkt traag of helemaal niet en dan wil je hem meteen eruit rukken van frustratie. Als laatste, installeren is makkelijk. Het lijkt moeilijk maar alle dashboard onderdelen zitten geklipt, er breekt dus niks echt af (behalve de pinnetjes van je hoedenplank die maar die kosten 2 euro.) Bestel dus zeker zon oranje plastic tool kit. Een schroevendraaier beschadigd het plastic of je foam. Heel veel succes, en heb je een vraag stel hem gerust. Graag in een nieuwe comment, dan zie ik die het snelst!
Can you tell us what Canbus protocol did you set in the configuration, please, in my Meriva B same GM platform steering wheel is not correct configured and Door Warning light in the dashboard is always on.

Yes the orange cable is for the steering wheel and the front panel. I don't remember how it looks like but if you ask the vendor they are willing to help. And take a look at the connection wiring diagram
Yes i did. steering wheel controls are that long orange cable that I talk about. The original cable is to short, so I asked for a longer one.. (maybe to long haha 😆)

That is where the orange cable comes in. Mine original was too short to connect. So ask the vendor for an extra long one and they send it to mee for free!

I explain it in the video, the original cable was to short. The extension made the steering wheel Buttons work. If you open your door, do you see an image of that on the screen? And if you change the heat settings? If not, that cable isn't fitted correctly (that was my problem)
Very informative video, which version of the radio is this , bcouse they are with 2 4 6 gb RAM and have version with WIFI or withouth WI FI , did das mean if i chouse no WIFI i cant connect my phone(android). I just bought Mokka 2014 and i want to connect to my phone without card and to install the dashcam and the scanner. Thanks
Always buy the version with the most ram. Apps keep getting updated. A 2 or 4 gb ram unit is SLOW. You will get frustrated if you have to wait 10 seconds to open an app. Buy Cheap = get cheap! I have the 4g + Wifi version. You can connect to the internet in different ways: - Buy an extra cheap simcard that you put into the simcard slot of the car. (That's what I did, cost me about 8 bucks a month, cheaper then Netflix) - Make a hotspot of your phone to connect with Wifi, but works a bit slow (in my experience) - Use the wireless android auto function (expensiver unit) to connect your phone. Please invest in a expensive unit. Otherwise you will get a cheap, slow, half functioning unit that you can trow into the trash. Friends of my took the cheap route and are very frustrated that the unit does not live up to expectation. Mine works like a charm!

My canbus settings is different, first I need pick canbus brand (simply soft) then finde make (no vauxhall unfortunately) I chose Opel and then model, but unfortunately there is no Mokka! I chose all other opel models! But nothing is working on climat control and stearing wheel 😢
Just use mild pressure and it will click into place. Use the plastic bracket pin that came in the box and put it in the holes at the back of the gap from the original radio and then press on the cover lightly and it will click into place

No not without an extra dab module, because you are taking the whole original radio out. But im not sure. Ask the vendor for more information Or just use an radio app
Once all the cables where in place, very happy! Works like a charm, fast, responsive and the toppal voice AI is working to. It's a big screen and really takes a mokka from 2013 back to 2022!
I don't know for sure, but I think so. It should be just a cable that you can plug in into the android radio. But I should ask the vendor to be sure, they are happy to help!
Great video! I have a similar head unit, but I can't get the buttons on the middle panel to work. I have read up on it and it seems that you need to change to the right file in the panels section in the Car Factory settings, can anyone see what their file is called? Thanks!

Als je de deur opent zie je dan een auto icoontje met de deur open in het scherm? En als je de temperatuur verandert? Zie je dat? Zo niet dan zijn niet alle kabels geïnstalleerd. Degene die ik moest hebben is die oranje kabel die ik extra heb besteld omdat de originele te kort was.

Ik heb de kabel van de camera aan de kabel van de radio gemaakt aan de achterkant. Geen aarde nodig

Hi, great video and all works great except it seems to forget all my presets overnight. Looks like it's all setup correctly but I'm gussing it doesn't have standby power overnight and then forgets the presets. Do they not have an internal battery. Any help would be great. Thanks

Maybe in the settings? Something like a standby mode that you have to activate.
Otherwise ask the vendor.

It comes with it's own gps module and then you can use an navigation app like maps or Waze

are you getting a warning in the screen when you open the door?
If not, u are missing a cable. Ask the vendor for this problem, and hopefully they will send you the right cable.
Yes I have all warnings when I open the door, my original radio from the dashboard doesn’t work anymore!
If you replace the original radio, you will loose all the functions of the orignal radio. so no more cd player and no more fm radio. FM radio is build into the radio, but i would suggest using an app like spotify, that's the whole reason I replaced it (and for Waze). If you are really a radiohead, there is an app for that too! :)
For the console, it should work when the correct cables are installed. Don't know what to say more that can help, sorry.

If you open the door or change the temperature, does that show up on screen? If not, not all cables including the steering wheel are connected. I've asked for an extension cable, that I show (the really long orange wire) that takes care of that.
The blue wire is just a piece of electrical wire, that I use to guide the cables trough the small holes. Otherwise it's almost impossible or you pull the wires apart.
Do the original stereo buttons still work in most functions. I suspect you will lose some of them but is volume still used and skip track etc if your using apple car play apps like Spotify

sorry but have you checked if we can still use the aux input of the car? because maybe that is connected directly to the speakers not the original radio that was mounted before, so we can probably still use it

Like I explained, there was a real short wire that was too short to connect it too the radio, so I asked for an extension. It took care some options like steeringwheel control and door opening and closing.

Ik zou de kabel vragen dan kun je altijd door. Ik moest alles installeren, en daarna weer alles open maken voor de langere kabel.
De achteruitrijcamera valt reuze mee als je mijn stappen volgt.
Ik ben een kantoor knuppel met twee linkerhanden maar als ik het kan kun jij het ook!

@@ottimo1042 Hi! It seems like you haven't put all cables correctly in. When you open the door does that give you a image on the screen? if not. not all cables are installed. I got an extension cord for that.

Bedankt! Ik had hetzelfde als jij, er was geen fatsoenlijke video te vinden, dus ik dacht ik maak er zelf een voor anderen. Het inbouwen is echt niet moeilijk. Ik kan het en heb twee linkerhanden.
Hoeveel gb? De meeste, altijd doen. Goedkoop is duurkoop, de apps draaien anders langzaam of helemaal niet en dan wil je het scherm uit het raam gooien van frustratie. (Zie mijn opel Astra video)
En het scherm zit totaal niet in de weg.
Succes met de aankoop en als je vragen hebt stel ze gerust!
Question regarding the reverse camera. Did you connect the camera to another power supply and earth or did you just connect it to the radio ? My camera has yellow Video and two wires red and black wires and at the radio end yellow Video and pink and two blue wires 🤔

I installed waze and maps as my navigation. I didn't have dab. Just download a radio app, always perfect audio. Yes you will lose the cd player, but who uses that? Just use Spotify or connect a usb stick with mp3

De achterkant heeft een extra plastic kap die er precies overheen past. Je ziet dus niet dat er ooit iets anders heeft gezeten. Tja het is wat groter dan het origineel, maar dat was juist de bedoeling 😆

Mijn reden om hem in te bouwen was inderdaad het waardeloze systeem van Opel (100 euro voor een kaart update, doei, waze/maps is gratis!)
Ja de cd-spelersleuf wordt waardeloos, maarja waarom zou je die nog gebruiken? Met apps zoals Spotify of Deezer heb je voldoende lijkt mij.
Ik krijg ook opmerkingen dat de radio-ontvangst niet zo goed meer is, maar dan denk ik ook, download een radio app en je hebt altijd de beste kwaliteit!
En laat je niet afschrikken door het inbouwen, alle onderdelen zitten met clipjes of schroeven vast, dus 'kapot' maken kan niet echt, en ik ben een kantoorknuppel met 2 linkerhanden. Als ik het kan, kan jij het ook!

I am having a similar issue to that described above. However if I turn the ignition off remove the key, then open the door the head unit turns off (same as with the old system, and above it appears). If I then leave the car for a few minutes then re-insert the key and turn to the ACC position, the head unit reboots Android, my question is does yours do this? The old system retained the last known input i.e., radio so would just start on this. I would also be interested in your Canbus settings and module? Many thanks.

Na een jaar nog helemaal tevreden.
Alles werkt prima, geen problemen.
Zoals gezegd, bestel een extra lange kabel erbij die van mij was te kort. Ik denk omdat deze Radio universal is (en een frontje specifiek voor je type auto) en ze er standaard kabels bij doen. Maar omdat de radio op het dashboard zit ipv ervoor zijn deze aan de krappe kant.
Ik zou niet weten waarom je dab+ wil doen, internetradio werkt veel beter.
Als laatste altijd de radio bestellen met de meeste Ram en geheugen.
Een goedkopere werkt traag of helemaal niet en dan wil je hem meteen eruit rukken van frustratie.
Als laatste, installeren is makkelijk. Het lijkt moeilijk maar alle dashboard onderdelen zitten geklipt, er breekt dus niks echt af (behalve de pinnetjes van je hoedenplank die maar die kosten 2 euro.)
Bestel dus zeker zon oranje plastic tool kit. Een schroevendraaier beschadigd het plastic of je foam.
Heel veel succes, en heb je een vraag stel hem gerust.
Graag in een nieuwe comment, dan zie ik die het snelst!

I explain it in the video, the original cable was to short. The extension made the steering wheel Buttons work.
If you open your door, do you see an image of that on the screen? And if you change the heat settings? If not, that cable isn't fitted correctly (that was my problem)

Always buy the version with the most ram.
Apps keep getting updated. A 2 or 4 gb ram unit is SLOW.
You will get frustrated if you have to wait 10 seconds to open an app. Buy Cheap = get cheap!
I have the 4g + Wifi version. You can connect to the internet in different ways:
- Buy an extra cheap simcard that you put into the simcard slot of the car. (That's what I did, cost me about 8 bucks a month, cheaper then Netflix)
- Make a hotspot of your phone to connect with Wifi, but works a bit slow (in my experience)
- Use the wireless android auto function (expensiver unit) to connect your phone.
Please invest in a expensive unit. Otherwise you will get a cheap, slow, half functioning unit that you can trow into the trash. Friends of my took the cheap route and are very frustrated that the unit does not live up to expectation. Mine works like a charm!

My canbus settings is different, first I need pick canbus brand (simply soft) then finde make (no vauxhall unfortunately) I chose Opel and then model, but unfortunately there is no Mokka! I chose all other opel models! But nothing is working on climat control and stearing wheel 😢
If that's not working you need to connect the large orange cable like i did in the video. That fixed the problem for me. Original cable is too short.

Just use mild pressure and it will click into place. Use the plastic bracket pin that came in the box and put it in the holes at the back of the gap from the original radio and then press on the cover lightly and it will click into place

The buttons on the steering wheel won't work. everything is connected as it should be, only the original cable from the screen has seven cables, and the new one that comes with the new radio has one cable. Did you manage to fit that cable that I have an extensioncable for? If you open the door, do you get a screen of a car which door is open? If not, not all cables are installed

I'm having a similar issue to this. The cabus settings work, but the original buttons on centre console are not all correct and I'm awaiting a response from the vendor as to how I may be able to configure them. Fortunately, the volume key is correct!

You can use OEM camera. Just connect pins 5 and 15 from 20 pin connector left unconnected to a RCA and plug that RCA in the CAM Input.

Beste Sander ik heb een soortgelijke androidradio aangeschaft maar het lukt me niet om de radio te bedienen met het stuur en radio paneel kan ook de temperatuur niet terug zien op het scherm en het originele radiobedieningspaneel werkt ook niet hoop dat je me kunt helpen Ik kom er niet uit heb alles geprobeerd

En als je de temperatuur verandert? Zie je dat? Zo niet dan zijn niet alle kabels geïnstalleerd.
Degene die ik moest hebben is die oranje kabel die ik extra heb besteld omdat de originele te kort was.

Yes i did but i don't know if the color dipends by the camera or the car device
