  • Hello everyone and thank you for watching this PlanesWeekly video!
We are pleased to present this video of a Lufthansa Boeing 747-400 departing out of Vancouver International Airport (YVR) on a chilly December morning. Lufthansa has sadly since ceased to operate the 747-400, but we hope you enjoy this piece of footage of the Queen!
We have left the take off portion of the video uncut, so feel free to skip ahead to the stellar views of the Canadian Rockies partly obscured by the clouds below.
    Safe and happy flying!

Love the 747, the best looking airplane, what is that sound right at takeoff, beautiful grey sky

After becoming airborne the main wheels spin for a short time until the landing gear lever is selected up and the brakes are automatically applied. That sound is probably just a tyre that’s out of balance.

Did you use the Sony A7s or lumix FZ-1000 for this video?

Partly obscured? I didn't see anything that resembles a mountain!

Please check 3:47 and 3:58 - you'll see snowcapped mountains peeking through the clouds. Thanks for watching!
