Supposedly the brand name is the 2 first names of the cofounders, 2 foreigners who came to Japan. Some Japanese micros that I've come across lately that seem really interesting are Hidaka Shinichi, Outline, Azusa watches, & Fukushima Watch Co.
Looks really good, very simple in the best possible way. Love the hands and how the strap fits the case. Not the biggest fan of the "double" markers. Thanks for the vid Gary!
I am glad I watched your review; I have watched several other positive reviews of the same watch, but no one from memory mentioned the fact it isn't an FKM strap. Keep up the honest reviews. What has happened to your website, it still seems to exist but it says there are no watches for sale, yet your eBay shop is still live?
“This (pause, suspicion connoted) ‘brand’”. You couldn’t be bothered to explain the name. Reminds me of that song from ‘South Pacific’: You’ve Got To Be Carefully Taught.
Very nice piece. I would also like to see a different strap offered as an alternative. How about sailcloth although I would wear the silicon for the right occasion but I typically wear a stainless steel bracelet. I also consider the price somewhat steep and at this price a silicon + sailcloth + stainless steel bracelets would make the pill a bit easier to swallow.
Very nice looking watch. Having a possibly to buy such a nicely specked watch somewhere in the middle of your city sounds good regardless the price. Bezel reminds me of Yema Flygraf, but that had vertical brushing.
Just checked prices at my local ad. For approx this amount of money I can currently buy Great Blue turtle SRPK01K1. In this scenario I receive bracelet, brand name, certified water resistance, but I loose hi-beat movement and low profile. Maybe not completely fair comparison due to sales, but this price point is indeed very competitive
Great looking watch, but like others can’t get past the brand name. Shame the strap doesn’t seem to be up to the same quality as the watch head. Close but no cigar, maybe a version 2 could address these issues.
I prefer the other field dial with the Breguet-esc numerals but I think I like the Majesty a whole lot more than either of the fields. That branding desperately needs updating.
Agreeing with everyone else here saying the branding is holding them back. Japanese micros are set to have massive growth, which KL could enjoy if their branding was as Japanese as they are.
It’s jingoistic to assert the founders shouldn’t name the company after themselves, but instead pass some kind of ethnic cleansing/purity test to please some people.
The color of the lume plots seems to be more white than the indices and numerals. Not sure I could look at that all day long. I think the price is okay
Not sure how they came up with their branding. I suppose if there is a justified backstory. I do think if they kept just the logo might be less of an issue without having to do a whole rebrand. But I checked out their site. This is definitely the nicest watch, but some of their moon phase models are actually good looking too. A bracelet option for this would be nice too.
The watch looks quality in your footage. In addition to the mediocre strap, no drilled lugs and the very cheap looking branding are dealbreakers for me, especially for the price.
@@Area_man115 For me the KL logo looks great, but the 3 lines of text are too much they crowd the upper part of the dial. If the name and classic field were removed that would really make the KL pop and look far more classy. The name and model could be etched on the case back. This would show the buyer that Karl Leimon are confident that the watch is selling itself and the dial would look much cleaner. The watches are lovely, people seeing them on your wrist can then ask and learn about the brand from the person wearing the watch, good psychology for new potential customers. Again this is just my humble opinion.
I don't mind the name or the logo. I would prefer 40mm but even then Gary's feedback on the silicon strap would stop me. I expect little of a scrap on a cheap Ali watch as Sapphire more than makes up for having to source a strap but at this price point it has to be FKM, good leather or a bracelet.
Just received my first 9039 watch from Japan and came with a test report in 4 positions - +1, -1, +2 and +3. Hope it's that good in my hands as it's Swiss chronometer territory and we know how much that adds to their prices.
A gorgeous watch! But the name coming from a Japanese Brand seems strange......but then again who cares.....the watch is really beautiful. Thx for this review dude!
“I wouldn’t change too much to be honest”… Only the dial text, brand, logo, strap, price. 😝 What’s left is a Miyota movement in a fairly generic case with unremarkable style and finishing. That can’t hold up to most other Microbrands, and especially the usual AliX culprits. If we’re choosing between microbrands that use a full name: this, or a Henry Archer? I rest my case your honour. 🤠
Strap material and branding was I think all I said..you’ve added dial text, brand and logo individually when they’re basically the same thing…price isn’t something I can change on the watch…
I first saw the review from Miguel. I think it’s a fantastic watch but yeah I agree with many here. Leave the logo or change the name. At first sight it’s Lemon 😅
Having seen the plethora of pleasing to the eye and much lower costing watches on today's market, this one, to me, definitely doesn't quake very high on the Richter scale.
Ffs. Were either called Karl or Lemon? I can't stand these pathetic names that try to con people into thinking they are buying something with heritage. Wouldn't be seen dead wearing one.
Great looking watch the branding doesn't bother me either but too expensive, the Houtman Murchison Sport which looks like this is under £400 with strap and bracelet and if I was to choose it would probably be the Houtman. Have to say Gary your macro shots have to be some of the best on RUclips.
Agreed but there are hints of the explorer in it like the dimensions, proportions, versatility and applied 12, 3, 6 and 9. If you can get an Explorer you will but if not then this is an alternative with some similarities
@@ilikewatches True if you have strong "UFO-shaped" cristals - but i have two Phoibos Divers and some other watches with "ultra-slightly" domed cristals and this looks way better then this flat, unstructured "Things" 😉
The brand name is a real leimon.
Totally agree Gary.....flat crystal with decent AR coating is perfect for me.
The name ruins it for me. Just keep the logo.
What’s the problem with the name?

Thank you, appreciate you watching
Sharp looking watch! Nice to see a brand I’ve never heard of before thanks for showing it
Excellent watch, really like it. It's very flat with a great size. The hands and indices are nicely done.
Well done nicely designed watch. I don’t mind the branding so much. Looks good on wrist as well.
Thanks for watching! Always appreciated
Got a green one. Love it.
A very good looking watch. Nice case shape and the brushing and polishing look spot on. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Always a pleasure!
Branding far better than Addiesdive
Nice watch💯👍
Very nice. I thought they were a fashion brand also. Thanks for the great review. There is a LOT of competition at this price range though…
Always a pleasure thanks for watching
Looks very nice, agree with you on all points 🤙
Cheers bud!

Yes, eBay is now no fees and people prefer to buy from eBay’s so just using that for now…thank you for watching!

Good looking watch.
Lucky they didn't choose Keith Lemon.... It's a nice enough watch, but I wouldn't spend that much on it.
I like drinking peeaas!

Nice watches . Price is also affordable. Best wishes for a micro- brand. Lovely presentation.
Great looking watch, but like others can’t get past the brand name. Shame the strap doesn’t seem to be up to the same quality as the watch head. Close but no cigar, maybe a version 2 could address these issues.
Not bad Gary, I thought it looked a little like my Vaer quartz watch which I love, I will be sticking with that tho cheers,
I prefer the other field dial with the Breguet-esc numerals but I think I like the Majesty a whole lot more than either of the fields.
That branding desperately needs updating.
great looker, but as you said the price is just pushing it a bit
Yup….
Agreeing with everyone else here saying the branding is holding them back. Japanese micros are set to have massive growth, which KL could enjoy if their branding was as Japanese as they are.
The name is their first names. What’s your problem? Do you know that the company name is holding them back? How did you learn this?
That's gorgeous
A cool Japanese character for logo and a name that signifies strength or good fortune.
It’s jingoistic to assert the founders shouldn’t name the company after themselves, but instead pass some kind of ethnic cleansing/purity test to please some people.

I would buy one.
Do you have Money?
Great looking watch, the strap looks good, but silicone! Why not FKM? I'm also with you on the crystal, domed and/or blue AR is an instant no from me.
The watch looks quality in your footage. In addition to the mediocre strap, no drilled lugs and the very cheap looking branding are dealbreakers for me, especially for the price.
Still for the life of me trying to figure out what the brand or what they sell has to do with the citrus fruit
Awesome!!!❤
Hey how’s the channel going?
I keep thinking about Keith Lemon 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Price and branding is off putting, but great review, cheers Gary
What’s wrong with the he branding?

Nice
Fair assessment. Good looking watches, terrible band name.
Cool looking watch. The branding is a bit of a "Lemon" though...😅
How so?
Hour marker doesn't match hand lume. What a miss.
Hmmm... Hydroconquest meets 62mas but forgets to wear its dive bezel. Ok then.

Nice watch, but that name, please tell them what it means to buy a 'lemon'
Good thing the name isn’t lemon then.
Again no stem guard?? Watch that expensive should have the best !! 🇨🇦😂
How does a Japanese watch brand come up with that ridiculous brand name?
Just go with KL if you wanna keep it
It's supposedly the founders names
KL in Europe has a negative vibe due to the history of one unsuccessful Austrian painter.
@@tayterlik really, that's a new one to me.
I'll Google it in a bit
@@tayterlik oof, yeah, not great

The naming is just god awful. I can't stand asian brands with these ridiculous faux-western names.
It's apparently the names of the 2 foreigners who founded the company

Slap on that karl Leimon with my lulu-leimon
That watch is far, far, from a Rolex Explorer.
Agreed but there are hints of the explorer in it like the dimensions, proportions, versatility and applied 12, 3, 6 and 9. If you can get an Explorer you will but if not then this is an alternative with some similarities
I don't know, the case and movement are nice, but the dial and branding have this mall stand appearance. I wouldn't buy it
...always this flat cristals... i dont like it and they look cheap (and they are) 👎

The brand is definitely a lemon
Why?
Why do you say that, dinky?
Who uses the name Lemon 😂
