Health system is a powerful mafia.
With the trillions they profit, they can elect presidents, afford lobbyists and get away from breaking the laws without any stain on their reputation.
It's past time for someone with guts in the senate to revise laws and regulations for the health system in favor to the population. Health insurance is an outrageous and hospitalization should be available and affordable to anyone with or without health insurance.

A hospital in Olympia, WA did that to my relative. A policeman found him freezing in a park at night wearing one shoe, scrubs, a t-shirt and hoodie, still very sick. This was after I had told the hospital to call me upon discharge and I would have a ride and a place to stay arranged for him. They discharged him early, against his will, and never called me. It's a long story, but he had lost everything for 6 months because squatters took his house. 6 months is how long the legal system took, with a lawyer, to get his house back. Our society can be so messed up.

    • @hugoh.9694
      @hugoh.9694 3 месяца назад +7

@Shannonbarnesdr1 Yes. That is ONE version of the story. Yet here we see a man desperately pleading for and clinging ON to all the help he can get. The same hospital that insisted he "declined treatment" comes back now and assists him. The ONLY difference this time around is the camera. This entirely brings into question the hospital's version. Somehow, I doubt he opted to wallow in his own excrement for 6 days out on a public bench. It's just a hunch though. 😊
There are mechanisms in place to address people with mental issues. Surely, hospital professionals would know that and use those options before dumping a mentally ill person to abandon them on the side of the road.
Another likely version is that the camera being the perfect verifiable witness prompted them to ACTUALLY help him this time around. With the camera. They can no longer simply say "oh, he refused our offer to assist him".

People from Canada and the UK come to the US and pay out of pocket for these things. And many other countries don’t have insurance at all…the people either can afford to go to the doctor or they can’t….those countries don’t even have organizations that will help the poor people get medical help. And in many other countries you can’t even trust the medical care you will be getting because they don’t have doctors who are good enough. Regardless of such, if you pull up to work 6 days in a row and see this former patient literally sitting in the same spot, it would be incumbent upon me as a healthcare worker, to check in with him OR do like the civilian lady did and call the police and let them look into it. For #%#% sake…they clearly say he refused further care! He was not discharged! He signed out against medical advice. If someone does not want care…you cannot force it on them because it’s called assault and battery! He obviously arrived as a trauma alert because his hospital bracelet was under a John Doe! Also all hospitals have a freaking language line that you are required to use if the patient does not speak English! Clearly you need some info from them because this is not veterinary medicine!!! He was treated and clearly splinted!!! We don’t know what happened?!!! But at some point he refused care! He was given a bus pass and food! They also gave him a walker!!! You cannot hold a patient in a hospital against their will…that’s call kidnapping and false imprisonment which is illegal in all 50 states and pretty much the rest of the world!!! I am also assuming that since he did not speak a world of English…that likely he is here illegally! You have to take a test in English to become a US citizen…and before I get accused of being some horrible human being for spewing such atrocities…the last fact I know because I am a foreigner and came here the legal way!!! And because he is here illegally, it means that he is unable to obtain any government assistance ie our tax money will not be chipping in for any rehab!!! So what are staff supposed to do? Take him home and adopt him as a grown$&@ man? And let me be honest with you that whole BS that was portrayed by all of those community resources is just BS! I’ve been doing what I do for a long time and it’s all smoke and mirrors! Btw before you accuse me of sitting on my high horse and not understanding the circumstances that homeless people encounter!!! I’ve been there and done that!!! So to everyone vilifying doctors, nurses, case managers, and anyone else involved…why don’t you be the hero and open your home to this poor stranger???

Of course there is more, however, if the hospital doesn't want to provide details (due to HIPPA laws) we can only assume so much. The same with police investigations, they can't disclose ongoing investigations, so we can o ly assume so much until everything is settled. However, there is plenty of cases where police can be abusive, etc.

This was done to me by St Anthony's hospital in St Petersburg FL back in 2015. I did nothing wrong, was not drunk or high....I do not do things like that. I had a condition that, long story short, resulting from what happened back in my active duty days. I had a medical condition that could kill. I was left laying on the street corner, near traffic and a dangerous drug zone was a block away. I passed out and laid in the heat for 91/2 hours before I came to. In massive pain, and shards of the glass from bottles that was there from before. I was a sick senior citizen and they did this to me. What is it with hospitals in Florida. Shands hospital did even worse to a friend of mine.

I couldn't even stand. Thank God I had my phone with me, and was able to call 911 for another ambulance to take me to a different hospital... that kept me for almost a week. this entire story is a big nothing burger and the comments prove how dumb society is. .. the guy refused hospital care + refused giving them his name + wanted to play games. so they did all they could for him and tried getting him to go wherever he needed to go by giving him a bus pass but he never got on a bus and sat there for days? what ? was he homeless to begin with? the entire story isn't adding up.. hospital isnt at fault

They didnt even provide a wheelchair. You try walking with broken legs! They could have (at the very least!) called the shelter. He had a head injury! Was he in any condition to make medical decisions? They didn't do enough for this man and I hope you or none of your relatives end up like he did.

So glad someone cared enough to help him. That hospital should be in some type of trouble for taking that man outside and abandoning him to demise.

But....he refused medical treatment.... What are they supposed to do if he refuses treatment??

      Did you watch the video?
What's going on in your brain?
They did not conclude that he refused treatment.
The hospital made a statement saying that some people refuse treatment.
That's not the same as saying Mohammed refused treatment & it's also not evidence that he refused treatment.
It's a general statement from the hospital that could be lying for all we know.
Somewhere in your brain you've come to the conclusion that he refused treatment, yet it's impossible to make such a conclusion from what we all saw in the video.

The people who were so unkind to him evidently do not realize that seven fold payback is NO JOKE. They'll be asking WHY ME?!😫 eventually...🤷🏽‍♀️

He declined the offer, why? And now he's stuck there, hospitals aren't social services.

They should file a lawsuit for him , from that car accident and his mistreatment from the hospital.

When I had a head injury, I didn’t want to go to the hospital. It was my immediate reaction. I had no idea what I was doing. I had to be talked into it. To this day, I can’t understand why I was so adamant about not going to the hospital at first. It seems like such a no-brainer. (No pun intended, but it is punny, I know.) We don’t know what part of the head was injured, and whether that is the part that is “not consenting”, so how can these medical people think a head injury can give proper consent???
