      You are absolutely right.
      Although, in my opinion, once you saw the VIDEO it was no longer an "allegation".
      This woman is very lucky. Even at that young age, there are individuals who would not
      stand for what she did. And there are certainly some parents, relatives, and friends that
      would, given the circumstances, have taken matters into their own hands. Fortunately
      the family and associates in this case didn't allow that to occur.

      This is a despicable assault. The camera did not blink judge. Eye witnesses cant always be reliable. The camera saw and recorded it.You didn't believe anyone. You should no longer be a judge. There is no way that the video being shown or not. Should have ever been an issue. She thought the same thing nobody would believe them over her. When an adult opens the lane to lay hands on a child. Me as a parent would closed it with the adult laying in the lane. Call the tenant call the police do not put your hands on them.

Have seen many similar videos of black children being harassed by white tenants at apt/condo pools, pool club members, etc. No child should be treated this way but there is no denying that the scourge of racism in America has grown exponentially in the last 8 years.       yeah, I came to watch for this very reason...I thought how absurd to be charged with any crime for a dumping a soda on someone...even if it was a child (pre-teen). The fact the video shows an actual assault instead of talking about the assault on the broadcast she keeps talking about the soda being dumped on the child. What a way to get clicks! How absurd this journalism is today.

      Sometimes video can be horrifying, and horrified jury members are more likely to react emotionally. What if the video (in some other case) was a case of mistaken identity?

      This what they are using now to exempt certain ppl of wrong doing so they can get off. The same thing was done in the Jonathan Majors case. The jury wasn't allowed to see video or evidence that proved she lying or hurt herself.

      It probably wasn't even a big issue during the case. It was probably just a matter of the defense attorney shooting their shot and then quickly getting shot down by the judge. Even if it had been a jury trial, it wouldn't have been any question with most judges.

      Because sometimes a video clip doesn't show the entire story. Not saying this is what happened, but say for example that the kid picked up a rock and threw it at the woman first, but that was not captured on video but her reaction to it was. You have to take into account that sometimes a moment in a situation does not tell the whole story.

      Exactly! They even captioned the segment with, “Manager seen dumping soda on child found guilty”. When she was clearly seen slapping a child in the face twice while *throwing* soda at a child! Minimizing criminal behavior like assaulting a child to dumping soda in the caption and using allegedly after conviction is pathetic for any news organization. It smells of narrative and victim blaming.

    I worked in the apartment management industry for years and saw managers on power trips. An apartment managers job is to watch over the business operations of the property. They monitor maintenance, prepare budgets for owners and work to keep occupancy levels as close to 100% as possible. Their job is NOT to police and physically control the behavior of the tenants, that's what the rental contract does. If an infraction of the contract occurs, they must follow legal proceedings, as set forth in the contract. If a trespass or criminal behavior is witnessed, law enforcement must be called. They are not judge, jury or law enforcement of any kind!!

They can make a call if something criminal is happening but they have no authority to physically grab, attack or control others by force.       I used to live in a complex where none of the residents couldn't use the pool because people from the surrounding community would come and destroy it every weekend and the complex didn't do anything about it.
      But at the end of the day - it is a private pool and she can kick out whoever the hell she wants.
      It turns out you don't get to just do whatever you want, break rules and act like a fool just because you're black 🤔

      I dealt with a bully when I was about 14. He was a tall white guy of 6 foot 2 inches tall and even today I am only 5 foot eight. This bully called my sister a black nigger bitch and I heard him. I was shaking like a leaf but I asked him to repeat what he had just said. He attempted to do so but when I hit his ass blood went everywhere and I beat the living Hell out of him. He got suspended from school. I was held as the guy who took down the bully in school. I was a hero from that day forward. He took a vicious ass whooping that day. When he saw me or my sister coming, he moved out of the way. He got some act right that day. I’m 61 years old now and that guy still remembers that day. A mutual friend of ours mentioned it not long ago and he said the bully still talks about the ass kicking I gave him. See, they just need a little attention to help them along. I did my part.

    Our pool & tennis courts were barely used too so it was nice to see anyone use em, even if 12/13 yos from houses next door. They behaved, i didnt see any issue. Im talking a few kids, few times a season, so I get other pools may have a diff situation. Regardless, you dont hit a child.

    In the future for the sake of safety, the apartment complex should adopt a No Unaccompanied Minor, rule to keep this from happening. We just don't live in the let your kids go play by themselves outside, anymore.

    There is video footage of you assaulting a child, your response should be your apology period. You cannot justify that behavior. If that child picked up something and knocked her in the head in retaliation then he would have been the bad guy. She was the "adult" and she assaulted and humiliated that child. That speaks volumes about her character and what she's capable of.
