@JonahJesusLover tbh Kiyo Pro seems pretty much on-par with slight differences between the two. It wouldn't surprise me if under the hood they were extremely similar in terms of the internal hardware. Although in Epos Vox's review if you watch in UHD on a big screen you can clearly see that while the Kiyo has autofocus issues (fixed in a firmware update for me), it has way better image sharpness and manual focus than the Elgato - which has no autofocus anyway. The Elgato has more in-depth exposure settings, but the Kiyo has an "HDR" mode which is useful in low light. The other major difference is the Kiyo has an internal mic whereas the Elgato has no mic, but for most streamers this isn't an issue as very few (if any) people use their webcam mic for content creation. The one major bonus for the Kiyo Pro is you can get it here for as low as £145 now, whereas the Elgato is £190.
God damnit, wish they came out with this weeks ago, cuz I bought the epos gaming x300 amp, don't get me wrong, i like this amp, but it would've been nicer to have an elgato product so I wouldn't have to install yet ANOTHER driver program for it
Thanks for the love, Eposvox! I currently want to throw my Kiyo into the Abyss, so this is all very exciting. Also, thank you for the video on the Stream Deck. You've made Elgato some money, for sure :)
I'll probably get the low profile mic arm and maybe the webcam since my current one is 5 years old, and well, absolutely awful. I'll wait on your review to make a final decision though. Honestly, I wish I would've waited and just watched your video instead of the Elgato livestream. The second hand embarrassment from some of the streamers on the Elgato event almost made me turn it off.
They didn't name it the WaveTRS :p - it seems pretty obvious to me that they'll make a more featured "pro" one in the future, but see how this one sells before comitting to new tooling etc
@@adamsteelproducer You may be right, but TRS is a very basic thing because it can be electrically the same connection as the XLR one. Making the tooling to support it from the beginning sounds cheaper than making two.
Considering a person that spends 8h/day in back-to-back business video calls (Zoom, Google, Amazon Chime), Is a $60 Avermedia pw313 enough, Is Elgato Facecam the go-to webcam, or just spend the money and go for a DSLR+camlink? Will people in the call notice that difference (e.g.: DSLR vs Facecam)? wasting time adjusting a DSLR, or not working because of overheat is a no-go, it has to be a reliable/plug-and-play setup.
@@jasonrives at this point I’m just waiting for affordable 2.1 splitters so I could still play at 120 fps while I stream and/or record with my 4K/60 card.
May i ask what kind of cpu usage the elgato wave link and other apps use? Not sure if this is info that's easy to find in your other reviews, so my apologies if it is. I have the GoXLR but I am not entirely interested if it's going to ramp up the % - but the ecosystem sounds nice. Thank you!
An awesome video as per usual, Adam 😆👍👍 Personally, my favourite product announcement today from Elgato would be a toss-up between the Wave XLR with the Mic Arm LP coming in at a close second. ☺👌🎧🎤 Cheers to you, my man! 🍻
Literally just bought a broken streamdeck XL. Although £70 and the only problem is the last 4 buttons have vertical lines down the lcd.. even with that nothing about this updated version gives me buyer's remorse here.
Why is everyone so fixated on HDMI 2.1 when even the products (looking at the PS5) that promise that performance haven't got anything that performs in that orbit? We barely have any monitors (yes, there are some but not many) that support the tech... it's definitely not worth jumping the gun if there's no way to properly develop the new tech around the opportunities we need to capitalise on as consumers - the same consumers that will scrutinise a purchase like "the stream deck mark 2 falls into the less interesting category of announcements". I'm excited to see where Elgato takes their offering from here because they've waited to make sure that the products are bulletproof for new streamers and versatile for seasoned pros like yourself.
PS5 and XSX can output 4k120hz. Those of us who have 4k120 TVs or people buying up the new 4k120/144 monitors don’t want to have to change video modes and swap cables around to capture. It’s still a smaller group but it will be growing in time
Nahhh, Elgato stuff I feel is fairly priced. The ONLY product that I think is a little ridiculous in price is their lights. But, at the same time, you can configure the lights through the software. So really you pay for the convenience of that.
Some of their stuff is expensive, but virtually nothing here is. The Wave XLR is cheaper than just about all competing interfaces, the webcam is exactly in line with competing webcams, the mic arms are wonderfully priced.
@@EposVox Camera operator here. The Elgato lights are higher priced because they have a really good CRI, which means they make it really easy for the camera to not make you look washed out/pasty/ill because they much more closely mimic natural light than the cheaper chinese options. If you're serious about your stream setup, it's a good call in the long run because it beats spending 2-3k on a newer "better" camera only to find it still looks like ass, because the lighting is just poor quality (despite being bright enough)
Oh trust me, I know. My normal lights cost exponentially more and I’ve tried to make videos showing you get junk for cheap lights. But people like to dogpile on “logo equals expensive”
Random fun fact about the origin of your Shirt EposVox and the Anti-Piracy advertisement that we all use to see. The music from the Piracy ad was actually Pirated and used without consent.
@@EposVox because I asked you a question about why you dyed your hair and you were not telling me the truth. You were just joking around…I tried asking it again, but still you kept teasing me. Literally nothing here is overpriced. The webcam is exactly priced against competition. Mic arms are either matched or cheaper than competition. Stream deck is the same price. Wave XLR is cheaper than most other good audio interfaces
yeah another comment on here said its in line with the logitech brio which i already have, but i love that they made an arm for the wave cuz ive been looking for one
Alright, those Elgato Mic Arms are gonna be a HUUUUUGE help.
Oh hey, a webcam that saves its settings to the device. And the Wave XLR sounds nice too.
Razer Kiyo Pro also saves settings to the device.

the facecam is the real deal. I have it and everyone keeps asking what camera I am using.

I almost have to say that it's the boom arms seem the most interesting. The one from Blue is sweet, but having a bunch of options is so damn good.
Wait, the waveXLR doesn't even have a TRS/TS jack in the middle?
nope

Man, so much cool stuff! This and the AverMedia Nexus were awesome announcements. Can't wait for the BEACN stuff! 😄
Oh I do like the under-monitor mic arm, I have something I've DIY'd for that right now with a small scissor boom arm from a desk lamp

Unless you’re buying the XL. That’s unaffected by this.
I really like the look of the new lp mic arm, but it looks like it can only be mounted on a desk, no wall or floor mounting :/
Y not capture card
