"La Haine" had one of the BEST endings I have ever seen in ANY movie, in ANY genre. I saw it years ago and I still remember that fantastic ending. It was really, REALLY well done. I'm surprised it wasn't #2 on this list, considering how gripping the plot was. Anyone who can watch it should watch it. By far the best film in the "hood" genre--it even blasts Spike Lee out of the water, in my opinion. Which is sad because you would think the Americans would do "hood" movies the best. But here it's the French, surprise, surprise...

Cain might've tried to change his life around, but he had done so much that something catching up to him was not too shocking. Compare that to Ricky who took care of his kid (not beat up his baby mom's cousin for wanting him to be a father), just satisfied the requirements to play college football, and never was in any trouble. As an audience member, if either of them were to be killed, Cain deserved it.

Okay, so it's been bugging me all week! There's this hood movie from the 90s that we used to watch back in the day, but I forgot the name of it. It's about two guys, one was good and the other was bad but by the end of the movie the good guy went over this girl's house and the bad guy was there and he said with a grin "what's up, nigga?" Then he took the good guy, and beat him up then he repeatedly kicked him on the floor. By the very end, the good guy shot the bad guy with a gun.
If anybody knows what that movie is, and the title of it please let me know because I want to watch it.

List was tough to sit through, 1/2 the honorable mention movies should be in the top 10. I had to watch it with sheer curiosity when New Jack City which is at worse #2 came in at #10. Juice #9 but 8 mile is #6. Love the channel but this list is off. Adding La Haine to my watch list since I haven’t seen it yet.
