      If you think this way, then you shouldn’t be using Ole Henriksen, Bobbi Brown, Origins or Volition products. One product does not represent an entire brand! Some people enjoy physical harsh scrubs like men(thicker skin) and there are some really stubborn people that refuse to do a chemical/enzymatic exfoliant rather than a physical.

    • @HiMyNameIsKim
      @HiMyNameIsKim 5 лет назад +16

      Judy N I understand the sentiment with one product not representing a brand- but there’s enough evidence that she doesn’t understand her ingredients and the effects on the skin for ANY of her products. It’s important to read the list before you purchase. Those products you listed- lucky for you I do not use any of the brands you mentioned anyway. I’m not hating on her, I’m hating on this line. I’m sure her lipsticks are fine.

      It probably won't. The products she came out with have been done before. This really isn't a huge, new holy grail skincare line even though people flipped shit because it has her name on it. But like Susan said, its supposed to be targetted for younger people who are just getting into skincare and want something straight forward without the added stress of trying to perfect an entire skincare routine. It probably wont do anything groundbreaking, but it doesnt look like it would cause major major skin damage (unless you use that walnut scrub or go with no SPF)

      Jaxon christopher I see your point and don’t mean Glossier did it first, but they’re definitely a popular brand that would be on the radar of the skin care industry.

    • @user-st2cw1ly7e
      @user-st2cw1ly7e 5 лет назад +25

      Jaxon christopher the point of my comment was not that Glossier invented things but that Glossier is trendy. Being the first to do something isn’t the same as being one of the ones that contributes to it becoming trendy. At what did I “ignore the science of skin care”? I’m actually a fan of skin care and so I was interested in what Kylie would bring to the table, but found the line disappointing for the same reasons listed in the video. It has nothing to do with me hating on Kylie herself, I just think it was a miss opportunity. I feel you’re coming to broad conclusions about things that I never brought up in my comment. I’m only pointing out similarities between Kylie and another very very popular skin care brand. That’s it!

    • @user-st2cw1ly7e
      @user-st2cw1ly7e 5 лет назад +8

      Jaxon christopher I’m not here to spread only negativity. People are allowed to say what think works and doesn’t work for skin care. I’m not attacking Kylie as a person. And it’s not for no reason. I think it’s good to question things rather than take them at face value. My comment was just an observation about shared similarities, but I’m aware correlation does not equal causation.

    • @user-st2cw1ly7e
      @user-st2cw1ly7e 5 лет назад +5

      Jaxon christopher you can’t know that I’m closed minded or ignorant based of a single observation I point out. I know Glossier isnt the first. All the ingredients they use existed before they were a company. But they are one of the most popular brands of the current moment, especially in Kylie’s audience of teens. There are other skin care lines that don’t share the same look, so it’s not a crazy correlation to noticed. People other than myself in their reviews said it reminded them of Glossier. And that’s not bad. I’m just saying!

      Theres are some dermatologists that still believe we all have the same skin type. That skincare companies perperuate different skin types to sell more products and depending on what you are or arent using is why your skin is the way it is. But I think there really are people who tend to be more dry or more oily. And i also think some people have skin that's more easily sensitized than others.

    •  5 лет назад +13

I do agree as well that marketing this skincare line as what made her skin this perfect is kind of wrong. At the end of the day, for HER, it's all about the profit. She is a businesswoman after all. But I find it really sad that a lot of her more impressionable audience will purchase this thinking they will get her skin status as a result when they don't even realize how many facial treatments she gets to make her skin look that way. Not really. It’s all just a cash grab. This is a well known Nd obvious fact. Kylie, the self made billionaire, uses a trumped up st Ives scrub? Foh🙄😂. It’s definitely not all the plastic surgery or cosmetic procedures. This isn’t me being a hater. She’s gorgeous and I’m sure she’s a nice person but if anyone is actually buying that any of these celebrities actually use this shit then you deserve to spend 20-30 dollars on a travel size moisturizer. It doesn’t “say a lot” not because it isn’t true just because...well..duh. They’re billionaires with empires. Does anyone actually believe multi millionaire super model Kendall Jenner actually uses the proactive she promotes in those ads???🤣 so yea, no shit none of them are actually using any of this. People Will buy anything with her name on it and she she’s getting her bag🤑 and it sold out so props to her I guess🤷🏾‍♀️ buy it coz u want to based completely on the merit of the products and not coz u wnt skin like Kylie. (and if we’re gonna talk about merit they’re are WAAAAAAAAYYYYY better brands like the ordinary and even freaking cera ve for your money).

      @@SusanYara I think the optimism you have in this video vs The Ordinary review is why I mentioned it. Yes you gave The Ordinary a thumbs up, but it almost seemed begrudgingly. Many people pointed out how you could have better researched The Ordinary products before doing the review, and in this video I feel like there was a lower standard being held for a controversial brand. Regardless of my snarky comment, I still think your input is awesome and appreciate your content. I just think being aware of possible (unintentional) bias is important.
