I LOVE how polite you are in your reactions, including your facial expressions. A lot of people would be making obnoxious facial expressions that make people feel stupid or like they have no idea what they’re doing. But you just politely smile and give constructive criticism!!
I think it means that you don’t do a good job of cleansing your skin if there is still makeup left at the toner stage. Toner is not meant to remove makeup.
I was surprised that even after she double cleansed used both a wash cloth and exfoliating mitt she still had makeup on ?! My skin always has no makeup left after double cleansing. Seems like her cleansers aren't cutting it for her makeup usage
Do Anastasia Soare. We have to keep in mind that she's above 60 and probably her skin needs are drastically different. Will be interesting to see Susan's pov
Her toner and the peel pads both have irritating peppermint essential oil as well as witch hazel which is drying then the peel pads have alcohol as the second ingredient. Combined with the retinol and the physical exfoliation and the acids... that’s a lot. Ouch. I agree, skip the peel pads.
Mira Parker to be clear, the peel pads aren’t meant to be used daily. I’m not sure why she doubled up like that. My derm has me using them 3x a week for a specific issue. Once that’s under control, she wants me to back it down to 1x per week. These are powerful and shouldn’t be layered with another exfoliating product
USER 2013 I understand that but even 3 times a week would be too much combined with the toner. It’s also completely redundant, the peel pads have salicylic acid while the toner has that plus glycolic and lactic acid. And would be better off sticking to the toner which at least doesn’t have alcohol. Not a fan of the peppermint oil in both of them either.
Tati Westbrook! I find her natural ingredients very interesting and would love to know your thoughts! Love your videos! I have been watching non-stop the last few weeks and have learned sooooo much!
I found it interesting that Susan didn’t bring up that pores don’t open and close when desi talked about open pores whilst cleansing. Pores don’t have a muscle surrounding them so it would be impossible for them to open and close, I’m so sick of the beauty industry lying about these things. However u can use warm (warm not hot) water to relax and soften the first layer of the skin, making it easier for products to sink in.
Girl can I just tell you how much I've enjoyed the skin care reaction series?! The first time I've ever had RUclips videos playing on my home TV. I totally love these videos and find them very educational. Keep doing you, girl!
Desi Perkins has such knifesharp cheekbones, it's crazy how regal she looks. I love her bone structure. The night cream maybe has retinol, and the oil dilutes it? I used to use a washcloth to oil cleanse, but it turns out a warm climate and being sensitive to inflammation does not go well with the added warmth and touching :( I loved that step! I will forever mourn that step! But it really doesn't do good things for me. Great video, as always!
B. K I know what you mean but on the subject of skincare, she does take it very seriously. Her mom’s turmeric thing is a bit whack and even Jeannie said she wouldn’t even do that.
Just want to add that your pores aren’t muscles and have no mechanism to open and close. Warm water opening pores and cold water closing them is a myth. Warm water can help stimulate your sebaceous glands and warm up your sebum so that could be helpful but that’s about it. Was surprised when Susan didn’t comment on that actually.
Steam doesn't open pores? I hadn't heard that yet and I watch a lot of skincare videos. The beauty within girls were even promoting a heating and cooling tool from VP.
Riley Perry yep. Unfortunately a lot of skincare channels don’t have any science or medical background. A basic anatomy class will cover the fact that pores are hair follicles and the only muscle near them would be the arrector pili which are next to the hair follicle and are what raise your hairs and cause goose bumps. There’s no muscle near the opening of the hair follicle and they have no mechanism to open and close. Steam can stimulate your oils glands and soften the skin itself, that’s about it.
i understand the no tugging on the skin notion but let's be realistic, there are certain movements that can cause skin tugging despite your best efforts not to esp. the eye area. taking off eye make up, lashes, etc.
The most damage in skin tugging is done in our sleep and thats what causes most wrinkles and sagging in people. So its best to minimze the damage when were wide and awake and can control it. You wont be there a 100% but at least we can try.
@@jackie_0221 by sleeping on our face. So if you sleep on your stomach or sides youre causing wrinkles and sagging overtime another example people are not aware of is some people have one cheekbone higher than the other and the lower one always turns out to be the side they sleep on the most. So people try to train themselves to sleep on their back or just get those pillows that have a hole in them in the middle so you can sleep on your side.. theyre expensive i think tho. I for one have more lines under my left eye more than my right eye and my left is the side i sleep on every night. Gotta see if its worth it for you I guess.
I would actually much prefer to see her use oils high in linoelic acid which have been shown to help balance acne and oily prone skin and which can improve skin barrier function. I don’t think marula oil is particularly occlusive but rather an emollient like the majority of oils.
if there is left over makeup on her toner pad then she is not cleaning her face well enough! your toner pad should be clean. I honestly believe the two most important parts of a routine is cleaning really well and sunscreen!
Also, I am an esthetician and i love your videos and how educated you are & share that education with others and I appreciate so much giving a shoutout to esthetician’s in this video! There are all different types of esthetician’s with different goals, but for me my goal is to help people truly change their skin & regain confidence. Investing in a good esthetician every 4-6 weeks & products they recommend will truly benefit you SO much!
Susan! I adore you and your recs! I differ on some things but am all about most of your recommendations. You have such gorgeous skin! I wish you the best with your next baby. Will be gorgeous like you!
I use those Coxrx acne patches that are similar to those Peace Out dots. They work better if they're applied after you've cleaned your skin so they stick better imo
You are so right on putting the money toward an aesthetician. I was skeptical at first but then it is really game changer for me. They can see under the microscope light what my skin is doing, how it is healing, how the collagen in my skin is. Also serum and SPF are the keys for a good skin care after 30s.
You literally took the words out of my mouth about the oil not necessarily being hydrating. Also, thoughts on applying the oil before the Moisture? Ohhhh...you just spoke about this LOL....I’m typing and watching! PS-love your passion, knowledge, and all the advice you share AND I love how much you support and stand for esthetician’s!!!! Makes me so happy and is so encouraging:)
Anastasia Soare!!!!! I know you’ll have an update of how she SHOULD do her skincare. I’d love to hear your thoughts especially because she has mature skin and most of the ppl you review are younger.
Pamela Cuevas microtears are different and more harmful than purposeful ‘damage’ that is targeted and controlled like dermal needling for example, that cause straight punctures rather than irregular tearing, Microdermabrasions really aren’t great
She looking insanely gorgeous without that heavy foundation. He face has a beautiful natural shadow and glow and the foundation is making her face look way too flat and broad.
She might be breaking our from over exfoliating like you said. She uses a physical and two chemical exfoliatants at one time 😬 i was over exfoliating and kept getting pimples from it.
Hi, I am latina too and dealing with hiperpigmentation and oily skin. So you recomend the sanitas pads on a daily base using also a aha tonic and and the caudelie essense of vinopure for dark spots? Plus 3x per week enzyme peeling? I love your videos. I learned so much for my Skin. Best habits, thanks susan :) would love some reactions videos on morning routines. Important question: suncream the last Thing to put on or under your matifing mosturizer por example the caudelie one for combination skin or the one of ren gel cream for the t zone?
I love this ArganLife oil stuff. I am getting ready to order more. I love the smell (others did not); all natural ingredients. It really does seem to make me tan quicker and with a nice golden color. I used it before I go in the sun, and then after for a couple days too! Will buy ArganLife oil again from ebay
Oils are not occlusives, they are emollients. Just because the consistency is thicker, that does not necessarily mean they need to be applied as the final step. I would forego the oil or just add it to the moisturizer, as it’s only purpose in skincare is to soften the skin and not act as a layer that will prevent water loss from our skin, which is what really contributes to aging or dry skin.
Susan, what do you think of the reusable wash cloths, like the Halo Beauty/Makeup Eraser? I don’t wear makeup but I do a double cleanse to make sure I wash off all the dirt, sunscreen etc. I use a cleansing balm/oil on dry skin, then I use a wet cloth similar to the makeup eraser to wipe it it off then I go in with a second cleanse. Then the rest of my routine.
I’d like to hear your thoughts on large pores and which products would work best to shrink the appearance of them. Especially during pregnancy. I like hearing your perspective on things and honestly have learned a lot about mistakes I’ve been making through watching these videos 🙈
Can I ask what your opinion on dr bromners Castille soap as a cleanser? Trying to find a cleanser with limited clean ingredients. Would love any reccomendation. Xx
Please talk more about the products that they use and recommend.. Cause sometimes they have alcohol and irritants in them or they over do it.. Like in this case.. Facial sponge, exfoliating toner and exfoliating pads plus that resurfacing cream which we didn't know what active ingredient contained.
I would actually slightly disagree with you with saying face oils are occlusive, they are actually more emollient, because they work to soften the edges of skin cells, plus penetrate deeper into the pores because your pores are “manufacturers” of oil.
M G Coulter Oils can be emollient or occlusive depending on which oil it is...this one I would say is more emollient since it has so many fatty acids in it, so i even said I wouldn’t question the order she applied this, especially since it seems her esthetician helped her decide this. That said, not all oils are the same.
I love these videos! So true skincare especially at night together with water and proper diet helps a lot. I see a big difference with my skin:) thanks for sharing
Girl i LOVE YOU! let me tell you... i revamped my whole skin care routine after religiously watching and studying your videos. I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT A FACIAL SUNSCREEN ASAPP!!!! love you girl ugh
She uses silk pad because she has an issue preventing her from using cotton. Silk is considered to be biodegradable so this will break down and will not contribute to trash in the long term. It’s really not an issue at all.
happy to see someone talk about it! just want to add if you have some skin problem and need cotton pads look for biodegradable one, most cotton pads dont biodegrade due to the way they're made!!
I would love to see Jessica Alba’s Honest Beauty routine! Also feed back about the ingredients and is it actually all natural ingredients that are safe and effective for your skin.
Double cleansing and chemical exfoliation changed my skin and also snail mucin and squalane oil, I had oily skin with cysts and scars now I have clear normal skin
Hi Susan , wanted to know what your opinion is on Foreo Luna brushes. They are pretty expensive so I wanted to know what you think of it before buying it. Thanks !!!
Would it be possible for you to make a video for every single step of a skin care routine. Like every step gets its own video and you explain why that step is important and what product you would recommend for each skin type!! I’m so conflicted on what steps to add to my routine and what products! :(
I love watching your reaction videos! I have learned a lot. I have a question though about my skin. I have all these bumps on my face and they aren't acne. My skin is dry but I get these little bumps all over my face and I've tried everything and nothing works.
I mean it's all going to come off anyway, but you do you! I like smearing everything all over with a balm and see myself look like a crazy clown before I rinse it all off.
Please review Desi Perkins's new skincare line! She launches this Thursday and I'm very interested to see what you think about the ingredients! :) xoxo
Everyone: WE WANT A VIDEO ON JEANNIE MAI!!! Susan: ... Everyone: WE WANT A VIDEO ON JEANNIE MAI!!! Susan: So I have a video on Desi Perkin’s skincare routine! Haha love all the videos you upload but we have been waiting for the TEA, Susan!!!!!! 🙇🏻♀️💕
This kinda demeans Desi Perkins.. if you don’t watch her, you’ve been missing a lot of amazing personalities in your life. She is amazing and people like me WERE WAITING for this!!! Thanks
Sadikshya Subedi my intention was not to demean Desi! I have a lot of respect for you! A lot of people have just been commenting on all of the Mixed Makeup videos wanting a video on Jeannie Mai! Apologies if I upset you, Desi, or any other fan!
Marilyn Martines really humble of you to apologize. I read a lot of comments and theres a lot of negativity cause there are less people like you who actually realize and apologize when someone is offended instead of attacking more. Have a lovely day
Hey Susan I have a question. At what age should I start using a vitamin c serum? I'm 17 and I've been using one for about a month to even out my skintone and get rid of those annoying red spots where acne used to be. Is there any such thing as being too young to use vitamin c? I only use it at night cuz I have really sensitive skin.
Some people have different opinions about vitamin c but since you're young it's alright to use it as long as it's not super high strength. Even then, high strength vitamin c won't do any real harm but it may stunt the skin's natural ability to build up free radical resistance
I know you’ve mentioned it before, but could you emphasize the dangers of fragrance even more (vaso dilation, irritation, allergic dermatitis) I think also talking about menthol which usually causes that tingle would be good because it essentially doesn’t do anything and is just an irritant.
Really enjoy these reaction videos, thanks for making them! I have combination skin with hormonal breakouts and blackheads in the t-zone. When I stopped using oils and frsgranced products, and focused on hydration, salicylic acid and retinol, it transformed my skin. Oils really don't work for me. The drunk elephant Marula caused major congestion overload! Shame, as I love them - but you gotta go with what gives results for you!
Is the ole henriksen toner a good one? I currently use it because it supposedly controls face oils, also I like it because it has salicylic acid for my acne, also it has AHA’s which is to exfoliate?
hey girl I love you! And I just noticed I pull my lashes off as well (oh no)! I just reuse them, but I also want to be gentle like you just said. What do you recommend I do so I can reuse my lashes but also not get eye wrinkles later in life! I value your input and would love to know.
I could b remembering this wrong, but I thiiink she mentioned a way of preserving them (or co-signed on someone else's technique) pretty recently -- maybe the Adrienne Bailon video?
In Jackie Aina’s skincare routine she said she uses micellar water on a q tip and swabs at the lash line gently to get the lashes off and Susan agreed it was a great way to get them off and preserve the lashes as long as you’re being gentle!
React to jeffree stars skincare routine I heard he uses toner then he uses a scrub afterwards 😳 the logic, and that he uses his serums after moisturizer like what lol (I heard haven’t seen it)
I'm assuming you heard this from his Kylie Skin review. I doubt he does his normal skincare in that order. He didn't actually apply the serum in that video.

Thank you for this comment!!! They work fine and are environmental friendly! Love it.
She uses silk pad because she has an issue preventing her from using cotton. Silk is considered to be biodegradable so this will break down and will not contribute to trash in the long term. It’s really not an issue at all.
L M you can wash and sanitize them though just depends if you do it right
happy to see someone talk about it! just want to add if you have some skin problem and need cotton pads look for biodegradable one, most cotton pads dont biodegrade due to the way they're made!!

Desi is using the Supracor cleansing pad! It’s made from this insane honeycomb mesh technology and it’s antifungal and antibacterial
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Thank you for talking up us Aestheticians 💖
Apply skincare products from thinnest to thickest. Great tip, thank you!
Watching this while doing my morning skincare 😊 oh btw Susan what do you think about using Aloe Vera Gel as a moisturizier?
Which body lotions, exfoliants and oils do you recommend? And what are your thoughts on dry brushing and recommendations on brushes
Also oil free eye make remover is good if you wear contacts (or that is what I have found)
Hi Susan , wanted to know what your opinion is on Foreo Luna brushes. They are pretty expensive so I wanted to know what you think of it before buying it. Thanks !!!
Tati Westbrook because she has done so much research on her products and on her Halo supplements. She's amazingly beautiful.
Love this! Would love to see a reaction to Aimee Song's skincare routine!!
I use a rubber scrubber the dermalogica one and I have a tarte one too, how would you recommend on cleaning? I normally rinse it and let air dry
Would it be possible for you to make a video for every single step of a skin care routine. Like every step gets its own video and you explain why that step is important and what product you would recommend for each skin type!! I’m so conflicted on what steps to add to my routine and what products! :(
Can’t wait to watch this one! Desi is one of my faves!✨
Are konjac sponges okay? Sometimes I feel like it's a little harsh for my skin.
Anastasia BH next plsss,
she said in her video that she puts oils first and then watery products which is quite strange :)
What do you think about Sephora collection skincare brand? Any products worth trying from that line?
I love watching your reaction videos! I have learned a lot. I have a question though about my skin. I have all these bumps on my face and they aren't acne. My skin is dry but I get these little bumps all over my face and I've tried everything and nothing works.
Could you use the Paul Mitchell Marula oil as a face oil? Paul Mitchell has a MO hair care line but also just an oil with the same dropper.
I always use eye makeup remover and remove mascara and eyeliner so it’s not smeared all over my face when I use an oil cleanser.
I mean it's all going to come off anyway, but you do you! I like smearing everything all over with a balm and see myself look like a crazy clown before I rinse it all off.
Please do James Welsh and The golden rx skincare routine!!
Please review Desi Perkins's new skincare line! She launches this Thursday and I'm very interested to see what you think about the ingredients! :) xoxo
Was waiting for this one aghhh, thank you for the content!! Love watching these videos 😍
😂😂😂😂

I felt like she rubbed her skin a little too much for my liking, she used a wash cloth, then a silk pad with the toner, and then a peeling pad.
Wont do any harm dont worry!
Some people have different opinions about vitamin c but since you're young it's alright to use it as long as it's not super high strength. Even then, high strength vitamin c won't do any real harm but it may stunt the skin's natural ability to build up free radical resistance
Can you please do a dry skin video regimen? ❤
Do Stephanie Nicole next please! Love you Susan!
hey girl I love you!
@@Nicolsol Thank you!!!! I knew someone would remember it right ^_^
In Jackie Aina’s skincare routine she said she uses micellar water on a q tip and swabs at the lash line gently to get the lashes off and Susan agreed it was a great way to get them off and preserve the lashes as long as you’re being gentle!
Nickellous Dime thanks bitch ily
React to jeffree stars skincare routine I heard he uses toner then he uses a scrub afterwards 😳 the logic, and that he uses his serums after moisturizer like what lol (I heard haven’t seen it)
That’s not what he did when he was reviewing Kylie skin
I'm assuming you heard this from his Kylie Skin review. I doubt he does his normal skincare in that order. He didn't actually apply the serum in that video.
