Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Acid $300
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid $6 🧐
Right?! So good!
You can even get a huge tub of 100% hyaluronic acid from The Ordinary for $30 CAD
Tina what does the retinol do specifically? And you buy retinol just by itself? Like as you can the hyaluronic acid, or is it mixed in with other ingredients? I am really new to this channel and to skincare like period. I am 27 years old and want to start really focusing on my skin care routine, so I’m in the studying phase trying to learn what to buy and when/how to use it and how often. It can be very overwhelming amounts of info, as she said in the video there’s so much information and it can be circumstantial to each individuals situation. Lol so I am feeling a bit lost, thinking I might need to hire a dermatologist to set me up on a routine.
@@BrEaNn804 retinol is a type of vitamin A. it is mainly used as an anti aging agent but it can be used for acne, dark spots, fine lines etc. it can be somewhat skin sensitizing (so if you use it during the day never skip your spf!!) tho which is why some people like to mix it with a hyaluronic acid serum or some other humectant. but retinol that you buy at a store is usually already prepared with other ingredients that will help deliver it to your skin correctly. The Ordinary is a good brand to start with since their products aren't pricy at all and you can mix and match and play around and see what you like. Using retinol in cream or serum form is A ok. :> hope this helps and good luck on your skincare journey!
Not to mention that The Ordinary gives the percentage of the Hyaluronic Acid in the product while Dr. Sturm does not. You could literally be paying $300 for 1% Hyaluronic Acid lol no thanks
Y'all shook that a multi millionaire doesn't care about the environment??? Y'ALL
FACTS
You know that just cuz ur rich doesnt mean you have to care about the environment lol. Being rich doesnt all of a sudden make you want to take care of the earth. So your saying being a non millionaire means u automatically care about the earth??
@@fadleadam that's absolutely not what I said at all lmfao
@@ghettoarcade I'm agreeing with what your saying 😂😂 I was replying to the people who think that haha I'm not ur side lol
HAHA fuck i laughed so suddenly that i snorted at this comment
After seeing her skincare and Dr. Barbara Sturm's skincare, I've realized that some of these people we hold in such high esteem and we expect much from, doesn't know much about skincare to begin with and their skincare routine really needs some work.
Goes to show the noise Beauty industry is filled with. That is why brands like Deciem are such a breath of fresh air. There is no logical argument against the Founder's vision for the brand.
Curious as to the skincare routine u use
@@aliyahp9969 me? Currently it's a mix of some staple French drugstore (Avene, la roche posay), prescription strength tretinoin + hydroquinone for occasional spot treatment, some fixed ones from ordinary like l ascorbic acid powder with matrixyl/ ferulic acid always under the sunscreen (another thing that I like to play around with a lot - all k beauty like klairs airy soft uv essence, purito centella and shiseido anessa), and then some fixed ones from ordinary for night like niacinamide, glycolic acid Toner, alpha arbutin and retinol, rosehip seed oil and a weekly aha / bha peel.
🙏🏻
@@alaneasable Damn, u shut her up😂
My eyebrows are always raised with these celebrities showing the Barbara Sturm products. Something is sketchy there.
Why?
I V There are an inundation of celebrities showing the products, who likely are being paid copious amounts for doing so. It seems to be inauthentic marketing to me, and it makes me suspicious of the brand. Companies have been particularly dishonest in marketing lately, due to competition: i.e., the Sunday Riley review scandal. Be a conscientious consumer and choose for yourself despite celebrity endorsement.
Same with the neutragena wipes, A LOT of these celebrities just happen to use them 🧐
Jerica Lowman They just happen to like a coin in their bank account 😂. They must think we are stupid.
Honestly celebs use them because dr. Barbara strum gives them for free. People use what they know and most people don’t deviate.
And companies being dishonest or “boosting” with fake reviews isn’t new. They’re trying to influence. Sunday Riley specifically sounded like it wasn’t trying to deceive but correct those that had unrealistic expectations of a product or didn’t use it long enough. I had a lady come into my place of work and she was just so impatient to speak with me and was angry I didn’t turn away from another customer to address her. She left a review saying how patient she was and that I ignored her. That wasn’t at all what happened but it hurt the business. I can see (it’s not right) but I can see why brands might try and correct these negative reviews. That is not to say all companies have good intentions, but part of being a conscious consumer is trying to see the whole picture even with limited information and doubting everything, from the reviewer to the company.
Lols let's not forget, Dr.Barbara Sturm is the same Dr. that doesn't believe in sunscreen/sunblock. She also claimed that she created the "Vampire Facial" in a Sephora master class
Chloé Seilund wait what?! She really said that about sunscreen/sunblock??? Can’t believe she took credit
She infuriates me so much it's not even funny. I want someone to expose her. I can 1000000000% guarantee that if SHE herself had a sunscreen product, then she'd also be brandishing that around on social media and in her videos. I'm theorizing that scammer doesn't believe in sunscreen/sunblock cause there's not any in her own skincare line.
Ayesa Mir truth!
Tbh, a lot of people who are spiritual nowadays actually reject sunscreen completely & they put something with magnesium on their skin to absorb more sunlight.
Well, she isn’t a medical doctor. Plus, there is evidence that sunscreen isn’t beneficial to some groups of people.
You don't need alkaline water to balance your body's pH 😑 you have two pairs of organs in your body for that purpose - kidneys and lungs✌️
Exactly. The only pH you're changing with alkaline water is that of your stomach's. Which is not that good for the regulation of our gut bacteria...
Alkaline water is good to get electrolytes in your system and for someone like me who has dysautonomia and POTS syndrome sometimes regular water doesn't do it and I'm still feeling bad
SAY IT AGAIN FOR THE STUPID PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE THAT, PLEASE
@@kaleighm993 yes, there will be exceptions of course. But for most humans, the kidney and lungs can handle it just fine
@@kaleighm993 Alkaline water doesn't have electrolytes. From one chronically ill individual to another; don't fall into that marketing trap. There are some brands of "electrolyte enhanced" water, but you have to watch for increased sugar and calories as a result. Coconut water is great for replenishing potassium without a ton of added sugar like Gatorade or Powerade, so I recommend that. Better for the body overall to help keep that blood pressure up without just downing buckets of salt or sugar lol
Susans face when she said the water molecule is heavier than oil, lol how so
Paula Nunes technically water is denser than oil. That’s why oil floats on water. However, when she mentioned that oils go first so that more watery texture can penetrate easily, the real question would be why even go through that process and instead apply watery texture first lol
you’re both right! A water molecule by itself has a lower molecular weight compared to an oil molecule. Thus, an oil molecule is heavier (measured by mass multiplied by the acceleration due to gravity) than a water molecule. Regarding what Suha said, water is indeed denser. So density is mass per unit volume. So within the same volume (like 1 cup), there will be a greater mass of water compared to the oil. Meaning, one unit volume of water is heavier than one unit volume of oil. Neither of y’all probably care and Susan’s point was definitely about penetration ability, but it just made my physics teacher heart happy to talk about this!
Kensational8011 I do care!! That’s very interesting! Thanks for clarifying 😊
@@Paulinhanunesm you said heavier, you didn't mention size
le lo Well, a water molecule is in fact smalle and lighter than an oil molecule, it just has a higher density! That is why oil floats on water
Skincare reactions are back! I can’t believe how many of you still wanted to see this one. I hope I was able to clarify some of your questions. 🤗

@@simplytitanium7919 oh my God, I can imagine! MY ex boyfriend used wash his face with shampoo and have the nicest skin ever while I had this 5 step skin care routine, struggling with acne. It is unbelievable
yo Susan is hilarious her face during "Im not really sure why she would use a cleanser meant for darker skin tones." had me dead.
William Stamm I wish she would have explained!
@@SusanYara Probably because that was the one she was gifted!
Yeah and the HA serum was for darker skin tones too which is confusing
Darker skin tones usually have lots of hyperpigmentation scars so maybe she's attempting to remove dark aging spots? 🧐
"I feel immediately that the product works" always makes me so uneasy. No - you feel immediately that the product has ingredients that make your skin tingle. That's all.
Yeah she also said that her skin immediately feels more tight. That makes me cringe so much. There’s probably alcohol in there.
Do Dr. Strums routine video!!
Auggie Vela OMG! Yes!!! 🙌🏻
Sorry it’s Sturms! Lol
😲
I haven't seen that video. I figured it is really an ad for her products and I wasn't going to play
The routine you mean her showing how much she ages with her own products.
So I'm a 17 year old guy who knew virtually nothing of skincare a couple of months ago. I occasionally have worn makeup over the last several years when I have a live performance or modelling shoot, and I would always break out after wearing it. I always assumed it was the makeup, but IT WAS THE WIPES!!! These last several times I have had to wear makeup, I have instead used a cleansing balm before moving forward with any other cleanse and no breakout!
I've used several brands of makeup wipes over the years, and all of them broke me out. The surfactants in the wipes are just way to harsh on the skin to use it as a cleanser.
Viix yeah I noticed when something is too harsh on my skin I break out like if I use a cleanser that is too drying
Yes!! 🙌🙌
not only because it's hars, but the wipes didn't really remove your makeup, so you have clogged pores
@@SusanYara Girl I always use an oil cleanser but late last year I decided to get some makeup wipes for when I didn't want to oil cleanse and they really did make my skin raw (even with them being formulated for sensitive skin and me being very gentle with wiping.)
The mind-blowing thing I learnt is *Dr. Barbara Strum isn't even a dermatologist or even an aesthetician for that matter, she has her doctorate in orthopaedics* 🤦
She, I bet, just sends products to the celebrities for free for advertising!
And she doesn't believe in SPF aswell
@@footyfan101ful ha! What? That's probably bcz she wants people to screw their skin while using her products as in not keep it protected, so they end up using more of her products just to undo the damage and then it's a consumerism cycle. She's a Guru at coning people I feel!
@@cosmic_lotus_eater exactly!! Theres a risk of getting cancer!!
She doesn't even have an MD at all -it's a PhD.
She is not a Doctor. She went to a "technical school" in Germany studied Osteopathy and she uses Dr. in her name only in the U.S because it's not regulated. She doesn't have PhD as well
I think we need to stop a minute and remember that skincare 20 years ago was very different, so some things may have been correct for the time that she was an esthetician. I know some techniques seem off but my mom was a beautician and was taught similarly.
tammystiletto she’s rich enough that there’s no excuse. She can see a dermatologist and/or esthetician if she doesn’t want to stay up to date herself. She’s in the industry though, even if she wasn’t wealthy it’s odd.
Mira Parker well maybe she likes how it works for her, she looks pretty good
S B I don’t care what people do to their own body in the privacy of their own home. Have at it. But she’s filming her routine for countless people to see and uses her company and esthetician background to imply she knows what she’s talking about when she doesn’t. That’s my issue, I don’t want people thinking that’s based on any evidence because it’s not. And the filters and lights most of these videos use make it so you really have no idea what her skin looks like.
ahh i really want to see a review on DR. STURM on Harper's BAZAAR
Caterina Song that one really annoyed me. It was a foregone conclusion she would use her own stuff. Why even make that video. Just my opinion, though.
they just came out with her skincare routine ... basically one giant commercial
I love that you said “I'm not pregnant anymore" with a little dance ❤️
tvloover80 It feels so good to have my body back to myself (sort of since I’m breastfeeding). 🤗
Forget the celebs, I think we should submit our skincare videos for Susan to react to 😂
Darren Clark she does that
Amanda Wright oh I didn’t realise
Paris Hilton’s skin care routine!
That would be Amsterdam
I always have to remind myself to not “thumbs down” because I don’t like what the person doing their skin routine says lol
I know that’s not your fault!
I love you Susan, but the alkaline water talk is absolute bs...
Definitely could be. 🤣
It is the same bullshit as make up wipes in skin care. I know it is hard to admit that we are wrong, but please, just look it up for yourself and at least do not advertise it to your impressionable audience before checking it thoroughly, just like you used to use make up wipes in the past and now you dont because you became educated.
at this point, I'm convinced these drugstore brands pay to be mentioned in these videos, a face wipe is the only believable step for these celebrities to incorporate into their routines
Brenda Guerrero That’s a really good point. Even if they don’t understand why makeup wipes are not ideal, I imagine they would use high-end wipes at the very least. It’s just really difficult for me to believe that someone like her who, even if she doesn’t go out and buy her own skincare, you know she gets sent a shit ton of high-end skincare that she could easily use. I’m with you, I just don’t believe she uses those Aveeno wipes in real life.
Right?! She uses all these expensive products but wants us to believe that she uses Aveeno makeup wipes... suuuuure.
@@pollyseifikar7751 seriously though.. A billionaire using 3$ make up wipes. No way
MrsStinnnsfire right?!? I don’t even use makeup wipes anymore- lol normal human.
@@barciabarciabarcia17 exactly! They always feel cheap and soapy and I hate the feeling it leaves on my skin. Thank God for k-beauty and Susan for showing us the right way, lol
There’s nobody else for these celebrities than Dr. Barbara Sturm?
Aesthetician here .. this is something that I've seen with other people in this field of work. I'm a very young aesthi (turning 21 this month) and I put a lot of effort and time in educating myself and keeping up with everything that's got to do with skin. What I've seen with other (and most of the time older) people who work/used to work as an aesthetician is that they're very gridlocked on what they believe in. Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone and there's aesthis that are older than me that also know that with a profession like ours the most important thing is to keep learning but there's also some that will never read up new data and research results about skin care and ingredients and they will always think that what they learned x years ago is the truth. I feel like that is what happened to Anastasia. She also comes across like she has lost (if she ever had it) her spark and passion about skin care and just buys the most expensive stuff because she can. It's sad but things like this happen.
A cleanser made for darker skin tone. Girl I’m screaming 😂
Myles Spears ASMR I thought I misheard it when I watched it. But nope, she really is looking like that, using a cleanser for darker skin.
Only a rich old white lady would create such a product
Lmao yeah it’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard 😂 like whoever made that a thing is in a different world 💀
Myles Spears ASMR it is supposed to treat hyperpigmentation which is often a problem for darker skin tones
heyayup omg 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💄
The darker skin tone line targets hyperpigmentation as well so thats why she uses it :)
Felix W exactly!!
SO happy celebrity reactions are back, but I do hope they'll be more Derm reactions to normal people routines too because those were so educational! (And both Derms were such sweeties!)
I feel like if you’re seeing a high end facial esthetician and getting a massage often you can do whatever tf you like to your skin and you’d be fine lol, but for the rest of us peasants I die a little on the inside watching those wipes lol
Honestly not true at all! The occasional treatment can’t make up for a lack of proven ingredients used daily. Sunscreen and retinoids as well as proper cleansing and moisturizing are a must and you can’t make up for neglecting that. Many facials just needlessly aggravate the skin too.
How's lemon in water and alkaline water the same thing? I'm confused, isn't the PH for lemon very low, while alkaline water is higher than 7?
the PH in lemon once digested gets higher, therefore alkalizing.
It's a bunch of nonsense, your body regulates the proper PH levels on itself. If not, you'd be in trouble. It's sad to see someone otherwise so educated spewing things like these.
@@martinar.5722 well of course the body maintains a normal ph level but it's still ideal to not throw it off balance even for a little bit since then your skin/body gets angry with you for throwing the ph off balance
@@martinar.5722 It's not entirely bullshit. Acid-forming foods aren't good for the body.
@@kaleighm993 I'm sorry what? Your body gets angry? I don't understand that statement. Do you know how acidic your stomach is?? Anything hitting that is turning acidic instantly.
I love that Susan is so honest and genuine, we need more people like you Susan !
Keep in mind that celebrities can also afford top of the line skin treatments from dermatologists and estheticians on a regular basis, so she can probably undo the damage from those makeup wipes better than most of us.
crochetqueenmd Also fillers, Botox, etc. No shade to anyone who gets it done, but I hate when people assume it’s just the skincare products that celebrities use (aka la mer and Dr. Barbara sturm)
That’s what I think, they go to the esthetician or whatever who fixes their clogged pores or sells them more product or treatments. Everyone’s happy! Except for us watching (and the environment!)
Roast mode: im excited and I haven’t even started watching
Noooooo Susan! alkaline water isn’t good for you and a healthy body maintains the proper pH all by itself
I gave up the makeup wipes because of you! I’m so happy I found you, can’t imagine if I kept on without knowing what I do now...good thing I’m only 22 haha
Sandra Cortes This makes me so happy! 😘
Esthetics student here.... I’m baffled she’s using Aveeno makeup wipes with all the other high quality products... Also, cringed every single time she used product on her neck because she was wiping down. 🙈🙈
Always UP, jeez.
SHE WASTED LIKE 6 WIPES AND DIDNT EVEN USE THEM FULLY WTF
She's getting the products for free thats why. Darker skin tone is newer so she is just using their newest release that they sent her. Love your videos!!
I wish I hadn’t started watch skincare videos on RUclips. It’s made me realize four things-
1. You can be an esthetician or a dermatologist or make luxury skincare and still somehow make the same tragic skincare mistakes as you or I
2. Luxury skincare is garbage most times and all the expensive shit you have in your cabinet or you’ve spent money on was a total waste
3. Even the people that know better will still sell you products and routines that are garbage to make more money
4. All these rich people still make tragic skincare mistakes but look amazing so at the end of the day, money = amazing skin
Anastasia really doesn’t know what she’s talking about haha! but sometimes I feel like “go to bed” is just a series to advertise products.
you really are in every skin care video ahahha

Before I even watched this I am just so excited she filmed this.
It says a lot of about how long ago she was a skin tech that she says oils should go before water.......
Eventually I stopped using makeup wipes because of you
I'm trying to stop using them too after I heard on the radio how many hundreds of thousands of wipes wind up just sitting in landfills, unable to break down. And they make my skin sting half the time anyway. Double cleansing is working better for me.

@@SusanYara the fact you have commented on my comment has made my week!!!!!
I feel a little better about my routine now. Lmao. It’s not the biggest budget but I know what every product is doing and where it should go. And I don’t use wipes EVERRRR.
The annoying part is that these people are so wealthy that they could have the least sensical skincare routine and it wouldn't matter that much because they can afford to regularly see estheticians and dermatologists to correct whatever skin issues they have.
I LOVE THIS KEEP THIS VIDEOS COMING MY FAV❤️❤️❤️ MADE MY ENTIRE WEEKEND
I’ve been waiting sooooo long for this!!!!
The look of disappointment on Susan's face when she pulled out the makeup wipes...
Even though I know that the Barbra Strum product line is highly expensive, I really don’t think they are worth the price IMO. They are glorified versions of drugstore and The Ordinary products based off of the ingredients I’ve seen on Sephora, especially because of the fragrance in them which I mean cmon they don’t have a functionality in skincare 🤷🏻♀️ Love Anastasia tho, she’s a legend. I am a person with sensitive skin and I just don’t agree with fragrance being in anything that goes on my face.
Jennifer Maldonado 💓👏🏼👏🏼
Sturms products are fragrance free :)
Felix W The Ordinary is fragrance free 🤣
Felix W to my knowledge anything that has any “fruit oils” or to more specific sweet almond oil can be very sensitizing to people like me with sensitive skin. Yes her line doesn’t contain parfum/fragrances but for me I wished it didn’t have the fruit oils. 🤷🏻♀️
I love these reaction videos and the ones with derms also, please keep them coming Susan !!! Ps. You look gorgeous Susan

Lily Saker
Wdym? Is there such a thing?

Yay you’re back!!!
"you should get a facial" okay let's all be rich
Vicky Papa You don’t have to be rich to get a facial
Amanda Leigh no but it is a privilege and first world thing
Liz Meows How is it a privilege?
Amanda Leigh because there are literally people out there who can’t afford to spend any extra money on their skin. It is a privilege to get a facial when there’s people struggling to just survive.
@@AmandaLeighS perhaps you may want to pay for more important things like bills it is not easy for the average person to spend money on a luxury like this
I love your scientific approach to skincare and almost agree with everything you said. But alkaline water? Seriously?
Our body doesn't have only one PH. Blood for example has around 7,4 while muscles even tend to be more acidic with lower PH. Our bodys are very good at holding these PH levels where they are and that is a good thing. Making the PH of the blood higher than 8 could cause serious health problems and even death.
The only PH level that we can change in our body by drinking alkaline water is the PH of our urin. Thats because our kidneys take H+ or OH- atoms/molecules out of the rest of our system to hold the physiological PH levels in specific parts of the body on a constant level. Resulting in more alkaline or acidic urin.
So if you really wanted to change the PH of your blood, you would want to interfere with your kidneys. Which is essentially a very very bad idea....
I swear I saw this comment before?!
Real Deal Its true, so why not? ;)
Same thoughts. I like Susan, but the alkaline water statement really suprised me! Anything alkaline (or acidic for that matter) is immediately buffered by your body- bicarb production from the renal system, HCl in the stomach, respiratory drive mediated by CO2 receptors. Drinking alkaline water isn't harmful, just an expensive drink. It takes a serious medical condition that overcomes the body's natural compensatory mechanisms, such as DKA, respiratory failure, sepsis, renal failure, to substantially alter your pH.
Congrats on 1 million subs ! 😍
CONGRATS ON REACHING 1M SUBS SUSAN! ❤️❤️❤️
If I was rich, I still wouldn't buy products just because they're expensive or fancy.. I'd still scan the ingredient list carefully before I decide to buy.
Agreed. I would buy the products with the most refined formulations and best ingredients scientifically shown to work. They'd be expensive products, but I wouldn't be buying them solely because they're expensive and fancy. I actually want skincare that offers real benefits and lasting results.
Perfumaphilia most expensive products contain a lot of fragrance, silicone, dyes and harsh chemical than the cheap ones. So just stick with cheap skincare products that are much more safer. Btw, the only celebrity skincare products that are good is paris hilton skincare line. They have really good ingredients tho
Alkaline water is nonsense. Your stomach acid pH is roughly 2 anyway
omg i cant believe you almost skipped this one as soon as it came out i couldnt wait for you to come back!
I love frangrances. They make me feel so relaxed and just take me to another world. I wouldn't mind fragrance in my skincare
Susan I love you but I don't understand why people think alkaline water balances their internal pH. you have a whole acid base homeostasis system in your body that does it for you lol
Pls do dr strum she is so wierd and i would loveeee to see your face and hear your thoughts susan !!!!! Glad your back ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Congratulations SUsan you look radiant as always
Idk how I missed this! These are my fav videos ever
Susan, finally! It felt like FOREVER. These have been missing from my life.
MrsStinnnsfire 🤗🤗🤗
Is she using Barbara sturms product for darker Skin? She is Pale as f***.
Im so confused.............
Vila Uhlala there are very few ingredients that are specific to skin tone
The outtakes made me giggle.. thank you
It’s just simple, when you are informed that the ingredients in your skincare are dangerous to your health ie cancer causing ingredients, hormone disruptors etc but still you use it because it feels great and it smells great, then i mean up to you, your body your choice😉
That look in the thumbnail... Can't mean anything good ! I'm ready for the tea 🍵
Victoria Simoes yep! I saw that thumbnail and moved rooms to make sure I was super comfortable for this one.
I personally think her skin care is a waste of money, but she has the money for it... so 🤷♀️
Funny thing is she's probably not even paying for these products, it's not a coincidence that all the celebrities in Harper's Bazar videos use Dr strum and la mer products
Right? 🤔
Radhia Deedou they getting paid to promote sturm’s products which are just soooo basic with high price tag
Oh my god Ive been waiting for this 😆
