LOVE Jessica Chastain, so this isn't a criticism of her. But I do wish Harper's Bazaar pointed out that she's a paid ambassador for True Botanicals. She has a contract with them. So this is essentially an advert.

Thank you for saying this! I googled one of the products and found that she had just been appointed as an ambassador. I thought that people needed to say when they had a vested interest in a product. Disappointing that the video isn't completely transparent about it.
but if she does truly use them on a day to day, whats the harm? as a consumer, it's also our due diligence to make our own informed decisions and what's best for our beauty and skin :) she did also mention she was vegan, which true botanicals might also align with her core values.
I fully agree. I don't mind the product recommendations but I'd expect transparency.
Once she mentioned her third TB product I had to Google and see if she was a brand ambassador lol. I agree with you. I'm a fan of Ms. Chastain, but they really should disclose her contract with them.

Her beauty truly jumps out once she removes the heavier makeup! Then she seems super ethereal and radiant. Don't want to be that person that says she looks better without makeup though. She looks amazing both ways!!!

I disagree. Beauty is enhanced by make up. Wearing no make up all the time is not something we should promote, I am sorry. Anything -- a little eyeliner, a lipstick, anything at all is important to wear. Nobody needs to be "natural" all the time. It's ridiculous and careless
@@alina3254 Makeup can definitely enhance your features and I am not saying everyone should be natural all the time. You don't need to be but you can be if you want to. You do not need to wear makeup. Someone should wear or not wear whatever they want. When I look at this video I just find Jessica incredibly beautiful when she takes of her makeup and I wanted to share that. I mean that in a positive way. I think there exists quite some pressure for women to wear makeup so this idea that you look good naturally is a positive counterargument to that. I do recognize however that this idea has possible negative implications. Wearing makeup is not a bad thing; not everybody has clear skin and naturally striking eyes or whatever, and makeup can really help to make someone more confident. I wear some makeup everyday myself and feel prettier with it.
Interesting though, her eyes still had black eyeliner when it zoomed in. She didn’t seem to thoughtfully cleanse her skin.

I adore her, but I'm sick of the "clean & natural" product schtick coming from so many people. It's primarily just a marketing tool & all reputable skincare is made in a lab.
ETA: what I’m referring to is when people use the words “clean & natural” to mean better. everyone’s skin is different & can tolerate different ingredients. a lot of ingredients labeled as “natural” wreak havoc on my skin, but there’s other synthetic ingredients I won’t use either. it’s all preference, tolerance, & price point too!
I can't really fault her personally, it's just a lack of education. She's not a skincare expert, she's an actress. :) I agree, so adore her regardless.

Just like electric vehicles! They're marketed as "saving the planet", but! The amount of fracking and mining for this veg I is far worse than fuel any day! Not true I use natural oils to cleanse and moisturize and it’s the best skincare I use. I use Best Skin Ever Seabuckthorn cleanser, and also use it to moisturize. Best product I use on my skin. 100 percent natural.
I disagree on this. We're finding that some synthetics act as endocrine disruptors. For example, if you're trying to get pregnant or freeze your eggs, some doctors will recommend skipping some skincare ingredients

That's one of the few companies that does their "advertising" in an ethical way, IMO. They partner up with celebrities who already use and like their products and ask them to be ambassadors. I think Laura Dern is one too.

Love her, she is an amazing actress, but this routine didn't feel right. She should have disclosed that she is an embassador for the brand. Also, she didn't clean properly. In the end it doesn't feel genuine, which is disappointing.

I have super fair skin too. Try to incorporate Retin-A on face, neck and back of hands asap. I have worked up to a higher dose and it no longer irritates my sensitive skin.

its not lost on me she was named the True Botanicals’ new brand person the day this came out. I hate when the celebs are not upfront about being paid. They did the same thing when Oliva wilde did her GTBWM.
just a note; synthetic doesn't means harmful, just as natural doesn't mean safer
same! Day to day is no foundation, nada. Maybe if I feel like it I'll wear some concealer. But majority of my life is also just good moisturizer 99% of the time! Oh I also invested in micro shade brows which made a huge difference and 3 years later I still have women complimenting them!
Most products celebs use are dr products or not available botanicals etc. I loved her simple routine but I love her CT makeup more so I need her red carpet makeup details cause she looks great. Love her in general :)

Ahhhhh Jessica I’ve been waiting for this for years, but as soon as I saw her instagram post for true botanicals I knew what this was going to be 😢
First of, good for her. Her and I have the same hair colour, both very dry skin and a similar skin tone although I am paler (Irish). I was really excited to know what products she uses but I don’t think she’s always used true botanicals. I would DIE to know if she has hair extensions or not, also I would love to know what SPF she uses. I’m slightly disappointed she’s endorsing the “natural” and “cruelty free” rhetoric as we know natural isn’t always better and pretty much all products are cruelty free now. I also don’t think foundation matters so long as you’re removing your makeup properly. So overall, love Jessica but this was disappointing.
