devorahacts the transatlantic accent was an invention, an affectation - and the sound is faster, clipped and higher pitched which goes back to the days of limited bass capacity in early radio technology. She does sound somewhat old fashioned but in a calm, breathy way not a boarding school lockjaw type of way

As a linguist, I think her transatlantic accent, as some perceive it, has to do with the fact that she's living in the UK and has probably adopted a bit of a British accent, which is similar to a transatlantic accent, and therefore unconcisouly uses a hybrid of British and American pronunciation.

i assume all these steps are things she does to her skin in TOTAL and not a routine. so more of everything that she does cause she wanted to show everything because she’s really into it. i doubt she does all these steps daily.

Yes, fair skin (even thick and oily) can get red for a moment even after very gentle touch, simply because you can see all the tiny blood vessels under the surface.
Yes. I'm very fair, and even if i lightly scratch an itch on my neck it's red for like 10 minutes. It's difficult to tell if it's just a flush redness vs. irritation on a video, but as fast as it went away I think you're right.
I am super fair skin to and small touches makes it red no matter what I do.

I adore Liv. I read her mom’s autobiography when it came out several years ago and she talks about how when Liv got started acting and modeling that even if there wasn’t a lot of money she made sure Liv got regular facials to take care of her skin, even as a teen. And so glad to know you are a huge Aerosmith fan! I have seen them in concert 10x and they are amazing!

The redness, I think it's just from her touching it. I'm very fair and my skin goes red from the room temp being too warm, putting on moisturiser, etc.
Mines like that too. My cheeks go red super easily

@@cearaMB7 I'm sure it was at night and she was just showing her night routine and her makeup routine for the video. I'm sure if it were her normal day routine she would have an spf, not as many masks/steps, and then would apply her makeup. Most people don't take their makeup off, do a full multi step routine, and then apply makeup again. She just did it for the video to show vogue viewers how she would do both.

Well, foundations have built in spf, I personally dont apply sunscreen sometimes when its cloudy and just proceed on my foundation after my skincare routine, we all have different preferences

When you’re really fair like that, I think you’re just more likely to be seeing the blood cells underneath the skin. Of course melanin plays a role in skin color but so do factors like blood cells, carotene, and even fat which can show underneath the skin. So it’s difficult to say whether she’s sensitive or just fair especially from a video. I agree that I wish she would have included more info on her skin.
Mira Parker I’m not fair, I’m tan and when I wash or rub or even pat my face it turns red easily. I would have to explain that to makeup artists or aestheticians so they were forewarned. Lol! My skin is sensitive. that way. And you can still have translucent skin and be tan and corpuscle vessels close to the surface of your skin whether tan or fair. Which in my case I have.
FitChickGlows I’m confused, did you read my comment? I was simply saying that it’s just difficult to say that she’s sensitive or experiencing irritation like Susan thought just based off of a video when she didn’t include much info about her skin and fair skin can make it easier to see the RBCs in the blood underneath. I didn’t say that was the only possible cause, just an equally likely one. It can certainly happen with other skin tones but pigment producing cells like melanocytes produce melanin which does it more difficult to see underneath. There are also other factors that can contribute to redness like rosacea but that one can be ruled out for Liv Tyler imo since the redness fades quickly and doesn’t remain.

Yeaaahhh, me, too! And I'm olive skinned, so redness can turn into brownness ahhhh! But hey. I minimize touching as much as I can... and maximise cooling things! If your skin responds with inflammation to anything, cold is your BFF!!! DRAMATIC improvements from cold sheet masks, any wet mask, icing, cold showers.... works for me :)

I spent like $50 on some quality Korean skincare you recommended a few weeks back, and my skin is glowing to the gods! I had maybe a 2 step routine before and at 29 it wasn't working for me anymore. Thank you SO much for this confidence and teaching me the proper steps and techniques, (while also helping me get rid of unnecessary ones). Now it's a blast watching others mix up steps and overuse products.

@@stephania4940 First I use Banila Co cleansing balm (tried heimish, broke me out), then I use the Cosrx Low PH cleanser, or Mario Badescu glycolic acid face wash for when I need to exfoliate about once or twice a week. Follow that with the Klairs sensitive supple preparation toner. Then I use Innisfree green tea seed serum. I tried the cosrx 96 snail mucin essence but I think that broke me out. I'm taking a break from the serum too just in case so I might have to replace both the serum and essence. Anyway, FINALLY I moisturize with Etude House moistfull collagen cream. Sometimes if my eyes are dry I'll use benton fermentation eye cream (its heavenly and cheap) and for a mask I use cosrx overnight rice or skinfood rice mask. I still need to find a good vitamin c, sunscreen (Im going to buy etude house sunprise and try it). Oh and I'll just use tea tree oil (diluted) or pimple patches for spot treatments and an occasional sheet mask. Hope that helps and I am SO open to recommendations. Not going to lie, I still don't fully understand my skin type but whatever I'm doing is working beautifully.

Liv Tyler's voice is ultra calming and soothing. She gives me the impression that she's just so chill. And now we know her dad's into skincare too. When I was a kid I had a crush on the guitar player from Aerosmith. I also had a crush on Billy Idols guitar player. And now I think Lenny Kravitz is handsome. He's in his 50's, doesn't look like it and has a sixpack! I'm hoping he does a skincare routine video. I'd watch that!🙂
