Even Google screws up from time to time! Sure, Google has released an incredible roster of products and services like Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps and Google Analytics, but they’ve also released some more embarrassing projects that were unable to attract public attention or profit, such as Google Answers, iGoogle, Google Glass, Google Shopping, and Google Videos.
Some of these were a matter of bad timing, while others were due to failing to synergize with other Google properties. With failed cross-platform integration and social networking programs like Google Wave and Google+, it’s safe to say that these initiatives won’t be dethroning Jack Dorsey or Mark Zuckerberg anytime soon.

well technically I have one for that reason too. so other than remembering my password to log in to RUclips, I completely shun it and use it for nothing.
I seriously always forget i ever had a Google Plus account, i mean i really "didn't know" i had one till i read these comments lol, i mean damn, it's that useless and unused, like dudes, this isn't North Korea, get the hell out of my life, i don't need some sh!t to be able to make a choice. They force us to connect to Gmail and so many others things that most of us don't even ever bother to click on unless they have no other choice. google Images thing there, backup, i don't know, all i do on Google is search, including the Google images search and USED to also use google maps till they screwed up big time making a useless piece of shit now instead of improving it, and on top of all, RUclips, and yeah, got 3 Gmails i still use... Out of at least 79 Email accounts i had access to in the last 13 years! like damn Google.

I thought that WatchMojo will talk about the stupidiest idea of G+ too vinculate it to a RUclips account, seriously I really don't understand the beneffits of this thing is just stupid, I hate so much that everything that Google buys fails in the next weeks or months.
That is the exact same reason I have g+...other than being able to comment on youtube, g+ is worthless.
I remember one year for April fool's day they had Google Nose. It was advertised to let you smell certain scents through your screen. I was disappointed when I couldn't get it to work. Now I look back and realize that it was a pretty funny joke.

I sort of liked iGoogle. I had a virtual pet hamster. Ha-ha. Now I just refer to the widgets on the home screen of my cellphone to check weather, newsfeed, messages, etc.
as far as we all know Google translate is not very accurate, when I compared it to Bing translate, Bing translate did way better than Google translate.

Google translate used to work decently for me, but a few years ago they started to allow users to add translations and they just got it pretty fucked up... It always translates like shit now.

Its kinda funny, we always think that Google all encompassing but they have failed on so many fronts. I guess having having RUclips and the largest search engine in the world is kinda a big deal though.

Google Plus was actually pretty nice when it was in beta. However, from the very first design change, it's gotten worse and worse and worse and worse. I think it was a pretty nice combination of Facebook and Twitter - creating networks between people while allowing for a large amount of public content. It got a really bad name, though, when they attempted to fully integrate it with RUclips (something that screwed my account up for years), and as I said, they've pointlessly redesigned the site multiple times, making it worse with each revision. (Arguably, much like RUclips)
I don't think Google Glass was a total failure - just something extremely difficult to start up. Each pair was, I believe, $5000. That price basically excluded everyone but developers and middle-class bachelors. In the future, it might end up being a more viable product, but for now, it's having to sit on the back burner - waiting for chip prices to inevitably drop low enough to make the technology affordable.
I loved iGoogle it was easy to use, I could organize my favourite sites, no Facebook like social media BS. I would still use it if it was available. I think it was the biggest fail of google, don't listening to the users and discontinuing a good service. This and forcing everyone to have Google+ account.
Ikr. Igoogle was my fav then one day there was a yellow bar at the top that said igoogle would sut down on December the 30th? Don't remember.

Yup that's what happened. I use Firefox not Chrome so I was pissed off that they are shutting down iGoogle to switch for some BS Chrome aps and Google play (I didn't even had a smart phone at the time). I didn't want any aps I wanted personalized start page.
Exactly. I'm one of those forced "users," as is everyone else you see here. In order to comment on RUclips, you have to have a G+ account. But I never use it, and neither does, well, everybody.
Me too. Heck I don't even get the reply part, I never use G+ to reply. All I know is that I need to have it in order to have a youtube account. I get all my notifications on email anyways, I don't use the G+ interface for jackshit

I would have included Google's Closed Captioning service. That thing fails most of the time, but it's false subtitles can end up as funny failed caption screenshots.

Google+ is absolutely awful. The only reason I even have one is because their purchase of RUclips forced me to make one. I refuse to use Google+. It's a joke, and I have other services that are much more useful and intuitive. Did I mention it made using RUclips's settings a struggle? Take me to my profile. All of the ideas were great. For example, Google answers was probably there to create "knowledge database". You can make fun of them, but their ideas are not useless.
I admit to being a pretty huge Google geek, but man, I have NEVER heard of "Orkut" before.
It took a long time to sort out the mess of copyright liability that was RUclips as of when they acquired it. They operated Google Video until they could sort that out and fully integrate without fearing massive litigation draining their profits.
I miss Google+ greatly as it helped me a lot back on high school
The only reasone Google+ has so many users is because you needed an acount on Google+ for your RUclips acount!
Google Glass wasn't for sell. It never left beta. The one's that got sold were still prototypes.

I think Google Reader deserves an honorable mention: a product deemed or doomed to fail despite its users treasuring, loving and holding on to it long past its shutdown, feeling very let down by its collision course with Google+, and whatever else Google focused on next.

Google has bought lots of promising companies, shut down their services then done nothing with the idea, that really pisses me off.
Numbers 10, 9, 8, 6 & 4 are all failures because they are rip offs/replicas of other products (though 6 was first). 10, 8 & 6 failed because Google's own products incorporated features of them later &/or made them obsolete (6 via acquisition).
3 is kind of a rip off but the failure also comes from its hatred relating to its mandatory RUclips connection.

Nowadays Android TV is a good streaming experience like Roku, Amazon Fire TV, or Apple TV, but I remember Google TV not faring well and falling flat.
Let's be brutally real here. Whoever thought that Google Messaging (within Google+) was way better than the YT Inbox that it replaced, should be fired. You can no longer send a message to more than one person at the same time, and you have to waste time by either going to your personal messaging system or the person's channel to even talk to them. Really bad move Google.

igoogle wasn't really a failure, it just got heavily shafted when google decided to replace it with google+ (which was mostly a failure, especially the youtube integration part)
I agree that Google Plus can't compare to Facebook, but it does have a variety of features that certainly aren't present in other social media sites like communities and polling option available.
I loved and used iGoogle. I still think the idea of customizing your own homepage is a neat idea, kind of like customizing your smartphone's home screen.
iGoogle literally became Google Now.. I mean a 10x better product but the thing is with iGoogle, Google was really ahead of its time..
Google+ should have been #1, at least with all these other fails Google discontinued them or just went back to the drawing board, and Google admitted defeat. Google+, however, was forced down our throats because of the RUclips and Google+ integration, which is the ONLY reason why the site has 400 million accounts, but it has little to no traffic, and any traffic that is on that site are ALL RUclips comments. And the icing on the cake is that Google STILL has yet to this day NOT discontinued it. Even RUclips cofounder Jawed Karim has stated that he hates Google+.

Maybe not a Top 10 fail but a bad experiment, Inbox. The reason why Gmail is not on the list is because we are forced to have it on Android though many people don´t use it at all.
Let's be real, google glasses with augmented reality would be a major succes along with Pokémon Go.
