And yet many people (I mean Filipinos back in my country) still want to buy the latest Apple OS 15 even if their OS 14 phone is still usable...I don't use Apple so sorry for the typos etc
True, almost all phone companies ditched the headphone jack, basically making existing earphones useless, but Apple was the one who started the domino effect, and I will never forgive them for it.
You know my friend is a loyal supporter of apple while I am not. Yet we remain friends. People can have different opinions and still get along. That's what seems to be missing in todays culture.
They are not the same thing. You can disagree on a phone as it will affect only your life and his. When a cult (the GOP) does everything in their power to get Trump elected, that fucks with many people's lives and its devastating consequences. People can’t get along because a group of low-quality people want to force their bat-shit beliefs on everyone else.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! I once owned a possibly haunted Macintosh LC II computer back in 1991. That thing kept on making loud crackling noises while I tried to sleep, and it made weird noises even after I unplugged the machine. That was weird.
You forgot a critical detail about the Macintosh Portable’s failure: It also had a design flaw where if users somehow were able to run the battery completely dry, the system would NEVER turn on again. Even if users replaced the battery or plugged it into a wall outlet.
Fun fact: Apple's 'Best iPhone yet' iPhone 15 Pro started using USB Type C, a feature that was introduced back in 2015 and 20W fast charging, a feature that was introduced in 2018.
The laptop prices weren't as bad as it seemed, at least not at first. My general rule was to find a desktop PC at the power you wanted (never less than $1000 at that time), and add $1000 to the price for a comparable laptop.
Leaving out the headphone jack was a clear sign Apple simply wanted you to pay more money. I've been Team Android ever since, and I continue to enjoy being able to listen to music and charging my phone at the same time without hastling to buy another thing for that already expensive phone:)
I like the iPhones and other devices from Apple, but it’s the software updates that annoy me most; losing battery power whenever the software is released
It’s kind of funny that how the iPhone 6 bend issues has returned with the iPhone 15 because they don’t properly durability test it before the phone gets released
Seen a lot of comments saying why they love android and why they won’t buy an iPhone, I am Apple fan and the reason is simple all products are made for each other and it’s so easy to use for all. Now android is cool to use but for me Apple is better and is about the user experience
I tried both and android is as "easy" to use as an iPhone, if not better. No reason to spend a lot more for an iPhone just because of "user experience".
You left off the fake signal they coded? Purposely slowing killing the batteries and slowing the phone so you have to upgrade? Storing passwords in plain text? The pin bypass through the emergency address book? So many huge court cases was the only way they would admit to any of it.
Apple doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to their devices, usually. It’s really annoying when extra accessories are unnecessarily expensive and popular features being taken out.
I remember when I first got the iPhone 6 and it thought it was cool but then I realized that I could literally bend the phone using my hands like it was nothing lol
I remember in the mid 90s, both Apple _and_ Microsoft had issues with their respective computers having to restart for no reason. While PCs had the blue screen of death, Macs would all of a sudden have a blurb at the top of the screen that said, “Sorry, a system error occurred;“ followed by a button at the bottom of the blurb that simply said “restart”. In addition, there was an icon of a bomb in the blurb.
How about their prices? Or the fact that the design has been exactly the same since the iPhone 11? Or the fact that the newer phones don't even come with a charger or headphones? It's been the same thing since then and somehow, a ton of suckers blow money on it every year
Apple's mouse as released with the original Mac where the whole mouse was the only button, requiring a keystroke to get full mouse functionality. The mouse was designed for the express purpose of reducing keystrokes so the basic design of the Apple mouse is just wrong.
Oh yeah, 9:53 was a clusterf*** if I ever saw one. Like I mean, I’m not tech savvy, but how much more tech could you include and even if you could include more, is it worth taking the headphone Jack out? Idk, I guess maybe to promote Bluetooth more 🤷🏻♂️ But I dare say, 17:26 might’ve actually made me more mad. Crap STILL happens to this day. Got 4 bars LTE but calls drop, apps close, messages don’t send, etc. . I guess the cell towers play a role in that, but still😬
Ppl worship Steve Jobs like a god for a few great successes at Apple, conveniently forgetting he was also responsible for a lot of the great failures at Apple too.
The Apple map once showed I was driving on border of poland….I was in Pennsylvania. It didn’t display the wrong area, it just added a line and said it was poland
For balance, I have a four year old iPhone 11 Pro that has never gone wrong. Yes the battery is now critical, but it still lasts 1/2 a day and doesn’t randomly turn off with 20% showing like the iPhone 7 might have done at only 2 years old. That’s progress.
I'm often asked why I don't want an iPhone. I answer that the stuff is overpriced, overhyped, and the company's business practices leave a LOT to be desired.
- yet most people are still willing to buy the newest iphone 15 even if their still functioning iphone 14's OS had been update. I know this because I have a friend who posts about Apple iphone's release poster on his facebook stories every time there's a new Apple iphone
How about the Apple Magic Mouse? When the battery dies in the mouse you need to flip it over because the charge port is on the bottom of the mouse making the mouse complete useless until you charge it up. Then again more money for Apple because you would need to buy a second mouse to use while the first one is charging. That's also why I hate Bluetooth headphones.
7:09 It's not pronounced "COP-LAND", it's "COPE-lund" (/ˈkoʊplənd/). The operating system's codename was in tribute to American classical composer Aaron Copland (of _Fanfare for the Common Man_ and _Appalachian Spring_ fame). At the time, Apple gave updates to its OS (System) codenames from the world of music. So System 7.5 (Copland's predecessor) had the codename "Mozart" after Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and what would have been Copland's successor had the codename "Gershwin" after Ira & George Gershwin.
aah I remember the u2 album itunes debacle. that was so weird, I thought I was hacked by a very silly troll who would gift people music they didn't want or something. I kind of hope bono took a hit to his ego seeing the backlash. but probably not.
Remember Apple throttling its chip performance to extend battery endurance? Pepperidge Farm remembers. Remember when Apple stopped including charging bricks with their phones to force users to buy their own, causing other manufacturers to do the same? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Biggest fail of all, failing to maintain their accessibility features, so that those of us who need them have to fight with our phones daily just to get basic stuff done. The screen reader on tvOS has been broken for a year, the iPhone will randomly stop speaking, and if you don’t know how to fix it, you have to get someone with eyeballs, the Mac hasn’t gotten any TLC in the screen reader department since 2013 or 2014, and there are probably a whole bunch of other issues I don’t know about just because I can’t use those features. Are they worried about fixing them in a timely manner? No. They’re more worried about where the end call button is.
The problems with Apple then and now are (1) price and (2) misplaced innovation. The worst example of the latter is the missing headphone jack. Even the most advanced Android phones nowadays still have it.
My Samsung S22 doesn't have it anymore, not to mention the recent models. Although when they released S22, it was already at that point where most were using wireless anyway. Apple is just setting trends at the wrong time when Bluetooth speakers or earphones weren't that widely used yet.
I remember #bendgate. Everyone everywhere all over RUclips was making videos about it. It was iconic, but helped drive sales, which was great for Apple. The iPhone 6 was just so iconic.
Video title could have also been “Apple Overcharging for Problematic Products” - cause essentially, MOST of these fails refer to high-priced units with glaring defects.
The biggest fail was, and still currently is, that you can't download apps with size more than 100MB using mobile data. There are too many countries where WiFi is very costly/rare, and mobile data is extremely affordable. Imagine yourself where you don't own a computer, and the only means to connect to internet is mobile data.
Wouldn’t call the Bono thing a fail at all!! Those U2 videos gave me my first big attention to the iPod. THEN in 2009 I brought an iPod nano that was U2 “red” inspired. So yeah it worked for me!
Well they clearly said that not all are fan of U2 and the majority probably isn't. You're just an exception obviously but that doesn't make it a success as it is on a larger scale.
Also the G3 Mac was pretty bad. Worked for a place used these as work computers, hard drives were junk, performance was crap, and desktop ability was meh. These had the bad hockey puck mouse and keyboard combo. Ours failed after 8 months.
I wouldn’t say the missing headphone jack is much of a fail, as androids followed the trend of removing the headphone jack and releasing their own wireless headphones to compete with the successful (and Android compatible) AirPods. If anything, it was Samsung who failed bc they made several ads making fun of Apple for removing the headphone jack and boasting that they still have it…only to remove it from their phones 3 years later and came out with the galaxy buds.
You know what's really upsetting? Why didn't WatchMojo make a Top 10 Apple Parodies in Media? From Live-Action TV shows to Cartoons, we've seen Epsiodes and Movies that reference or relate anything with Apple nowadays, it's basically a punchline for everything.
It was the first consumer product to have a Graphical User Interface. Xerox's version was a closeted buggy lab baby that was shown to Jobs and Gates on a tour of the Xerox offices.
I didn't see the mouse that is charged FROM THE BOTTOM in the list. In any case Apple has grown based on the fact that it is the spoiled kid of American people. They excuse all its faults, or pretend to not see them. They never gave the same excuses to IBM (which grew anyway, but in the end is mostly out of the main consumer market) or Commodore (which could really rule the world). Thanks to Steve Jobs, who as clueless as he was of the real technical side of his products, we is easily in the list of the best marketeers ever.
The one of the biggest Apple fail is iOS 7 and further IOS updates. The same thing with macOS. Skeumorphism used to look like solid and expensive style, combining it with the strong and semi-glass iPhone 4/4s cage for instance . The further updates which followed minimalism look childish , ugly and cheap at the same time.
For me the biggest fail from Apple is the iPhone 7 series. But not because of the missing headphone jack but the aftermath of the loop disease. I have two iPhone 7 Plus and an iPhone 7 laying around that all suffer from the chips connections breaking from the logic board which results in various stages of the loop disease. One only has the mics not working, the other has no audio in or out anymore, the camera stopped working, some apps don't work, the screen spontaneously turns black and it sometimes won't start and the last one won't boot at all or show anything on the screen. And it wasn't discovered until I think it was 2 years after release which is a shame because I think otherwise it's a really good phone with one of the best designs
Add battery life to missteps. Had bad experience with I touch mp3 player, and iPads any generation. Also how apples brick old devices after a few years. Friend had an I phone 6, it had horrible issues with batteries, so bad that he traded his in on a Samsung s10 at the time.

Add battery life to missteps. Had bad experience with I touch mp3 player, and iPads any generation. Also how apples brick old devices after a few years. Friend had an I phone 6, it had horrible issues with batteries, so bad that he traded his in on a Samsung s10 at the time.
